Morrow

LINEVILLE

Services for Furn Morrow, 80, of Lineville will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Clay County Funeral Home with Dr. John Crowder officiating. Burial will be in Clay County Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Morrow died Sunday in Fairview, Tenn.

Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Morrow of Fairview, Tenn.; a brother, Charlie Gregg of Panama City, Fla.; and five grandchildren, Sean Lewis, Shannon Lewis, Shane Doty, Kevin Doty and Caitlin Doty.

Pallbearers will be Sean Lewis, Shane Doty, Kevin Doty, Caitlin Doty, John O’Neill and Danny Hill.

Mrs. Morrow was a native of Randolph County, had been a resident of Chambers County a number of years, and had lived in Lineville 17 years. She taught school in Childersburg for several years during World War II, was a homemaker, and was a member of Lineville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvis Morrow.

Mrs. Natalie Mychailyschyn, 81, of Anniston died Tuesday at her home. Brown and Kughn Memory Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Ogle

HEFLIN

Services for Earlis Lindsey Ogle, 60, of Heflin will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Dryden Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pinetucky Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Ogle died Monday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Allie Ogle of Heflin; a daughter, Susan Shaddix of Heflin; two sons, Frank Ogle of Ranburne and Jamie Ogle of Hokes Bluff; a brother, Vertis Ogle of Heflin; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be friends and relatives.

Mr. Ogle was a native of Randolph County and had lived in Heflin seven years. He was a former employee of U.S. Gypsum.

Memorial graveside services for retired Lt. Col. Dorothy Parks, 83, of Anniston will be today at 1 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Gardens.

Lt. Col. Parks died Jan. 26 at Regional Medical Center.

Swain

RAGLAND

Services for Edward “Sweet” Swain, 81, of Ragland will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Morning Star Baptist Church with Rev. Wallace Pinson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Terry’s Metropolitan Mortuary in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mr. Swain died Friday at St. Clair Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Lillie Mae Swain of Ragland; two daughters, Beverly Swain of Birmingham and Bessie Williams of Forestville, Md.; a son, Lee Curtis Swain of Chattanooga, Tenn.; seven sisters, Martha Garrett and Ocelia Garrett, both of Alpine, Elizabeth Cook of Anniston, Jeanette Swain of Sacramento, Calif., Catherine Austins of Lancaster, Calif., and Phameline Scott and Betty Washington, both of Apple Valley, Calif.; four brothers, Willie Swain of Apple Valley, Jerry Swain of Los Angeles, Charles Swain of Sacramento and Washington L. Swain of Augusta, Ga.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Masonic brothers.

Mr. Swain was a member, deacon and treasurer of Morning Star Baptist Church, where he was chairman of the deacon board. He was a member and treasurer of Ragland Banner Lodge 743 of the Free and Accepted Masons and was an Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff Henry Swain and Claddie Swain; a daughter, JoAnn Swain White; two sisters, Flossie Coleman and Juliette Embry; two brothers, Spencer Swain and Jeff Swain Jr.

Waite

CENTRE

Services for Dan W. Waite Jr., 87, of Centre will be today at 2 p.m. at Centre First United Methodist Church with Revs. Lewis Archer and Joe Higginbotham officiating. Graveside services will be today at 3 p.m. at Cherokee Memory Gardens with Jordan Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Waite died Tuesday at Cherokee Baptist Medical Center.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Betty and Lowell Zoller of Huntsville; a brother and his wife, Jack and Jane Waite of Huntsville; a sister and her husband, Jean and Bob Bryan of Birmingham; three grandchildren, Kim Graves Carter, Meg Ayers and her husband, Jay, and Jake Graves and his wife, Julie; six great-grandchildren, Matt Carter, Katie Carter, Cole Ayers, Olivia Ayers, Jacob Graves and Claudia Graves; and a caregiver, Katie Reese.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Bailey, Hugh Hale, Pete Reed, Ralph Skinner, Donald Formby, Robert Upton, Lewis Perry, Ralph Price, Hobert Reed, John Livingston, Travis James, Charles Brannon and Dr. Brian Perry and staff.

Mr. Waite was a native of Vincent and was a retired merchant. He was a World War II veteran, a member of First United Methodist Church of Centre, and had earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Alabama. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary George Jordan Waite; his parents, Daniel Webster and Dimple May Waite; two daughters, Diane Waite and Linda Gail Waite; a sister, Dot Carraway; and a son-in-law, Tommy Graves.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Centre First United Methodist Church or Cherokee Baptist Medical Center.

Services for William H. Wills of Anniston will be Thursday at noon at Sunlight Baptist Church with Rev. P.Q. English officiating. Burial will be in Eden Hills Cemetery with Ervin Funeral Chapel in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mr. Wills died Sunday at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

Survivors include his wife, Cora C. Wills; two daughters, Shauntee D. Wills and Sacre Wills; three sons, Samuel Wills, Darryl Wills and Bengie Ragland; four sisters, Frances W. Wall, Dorothy Wills, Emma Wills and Dr. Cornelia Wills; two brothers, Lester Wills and Marvin Wills; and four grandchildren.

Alford

ALPINE

Services for Jerry Alford, 91, of Alpine will be Friday at 2 p.m. at King’s Chapel Congregational United Church of Christ with Rev. Van Tony Welch officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Terry’s Metropolitan Mortuary in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mr. Alford died Friday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Jones Alford of Alpine; a daughter, Datie Rhone of Chicago; a son, Jerry S. Alford of Alpine; a sister, Leola McReynolds of Birmingham; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Mr. Alford was the founder and owner of Alford’s General Store and a farmer. He was a lifelong member of King’s Chapel Church, where he was a deacon, a trustee and had once served as Sunday school superintendent. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Philisher Alford; his parents, James Alford and Vannie Horton Alford; and five brothers and five sisters.

Armour

COVINGTON, Tenn.

Services for Emma Nell Porter Armour, 58, of Covington, formerly of Anniston, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Canaan Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in King’s Hill Cemetery with Mason Funeral Home in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services. The family will receive friends noon to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Armour died Saturday.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph Armour of Covington; a son, Eundra Porter of Chattanooga, Tenn.; five sisters and two brother-in-law, Lydia Fulton, Arrie King, Pauline McCletan and Ollie Pearl and Roy Browner, all of Knoxville, Tenn., and Lula Bell and John LaNier of Anniston; two brothers, Benjamin Porter Jr. of Gadsden and Ackron Porter of Knoxville; and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Armour was a housewife and was preceded in death by her parents, Rosie and Benjamin Porter.

LINCOLN

Services for Mary M. Curry, 83, of Lincoln will be Friday at noon at Sycamore Baptist Church with Rev. Jesse Montgomery officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Sims Funeral Service in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mrs. Curry died Friday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include three daughters, Lucille C. Ragland, Sarah C. Brown and Doris E. Ragland; a son, Eddie B. Curry; 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.

LEESBURG

Graveside services for William Edward “Bill” Evans, 70, of Leesburg will be today at 1 p.m. at Cherokee Memory Gardens with Perry Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
