Mrs. Randolph was a native of Lincoln County, a tow motor operator for Amana and a member of Holiness Church of God. Mr. Walter D. Steelman

Funeral services for Mr. Walter D. Steelman, age 79, of Lynchburg, who died Friday, February 28, 2003 in Harton Hospital, will be conducted Monday, March 3, 2003 in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Booneville Cemetery. Mr. Steelman was a native of Lincoln County, a farmer, member of Charity Baptist Church and a member of the Metro Moore Co., Lynchburg Fire Department. Survivors include his wife: Mildred Steelman of Lynchburg, TN; 1 daughter: Shelbie Steelman of Lynchburg, TN; 1 sister: Louise Cox of Lynchburg, TN; 2 brothers: Fred Steelman & Morgan Steelman both of Lynchburg, TN. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5 until 8 P.M. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mr. Herman E. Jean

Funeral services for Mr. Herman E. Jean, age 89, of McDeal Road, Fayetteville, who died Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at his residence, will be held Friday, March 7, 2003 at 1:30 P.M. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Dr. Ricky Craft and Rev. Dewey Craft officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery. Mr. Jean was a native of Lincoln County, son of the late Riley Jean and the late Frances Marie Askins Jean. He was a farmer and a member of Kirkland Baptist Church. He served 38 months with the 45th Division Artillery Infantry of the U.S. Army in France, Italy, Sicily and Germany. He was caught in a trap at Salerno, Italy and wounded during the invasion at Anzio Beach. He received a Bronze Star for the Sicilian Campaign and a Bronze Star for the Italian Campaign along with a Good Conduct Medal and the American Defense Medal. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Christine Jean on November 18, 1997. He is survived by 2 sons: Wayne Jean & J.D. Jean both of Fayetteville; 3 grandchildren: Billy Jean, Jay Jean, Crissy LaFler; 2 great grandchildren: Kaylee Summer Jean, Tristan Rhett Lafler; 1 brother: J.R. Jean of Hazel Green, AL; 1 sister: Bonnie Craft of Athens, AL. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5 until 8 P.M. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Gavin Lee Williams

Graveside services for Gavin Lee Williams, who passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at Harton Hospital in Tullahoma, will be conducted Saturday, March 8, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. in Flintville Cemetery. He was the infant son of Jeff Williams and Michelle Nix, who survive. Other survivors include his grandparents: Charles & Stacy Nix of Tullahoma, Jimmy Ray & Anita Arnold of Fayetteville, Mary Frances Williams & Bobby Williams of Taft.

Mr. Bobby Joe Roberts

Memorial funeral services for Mr. Bobby Joe Roberts, age 55, of Junior Jennings Rd, Flintville, TN, who died Thursday, April 3, 2003 in the Huntsville Hospital Main, will be held Sunday, April 6, 2003 at 3:00 P.M. graveside at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Huntland, TN. Mr. Roberts was a truck driver for Scivally Trucking and Stone Grainery. Survivors include his wife: Barbara Bostick Roberts of Flintville, TN; mother: Betty Towry of Decherd, TN and several sisters, brother and aunts.

Funeral services for Mr. Paul Amos Todd, age 79, of Orchard Dr., Fayetteville, who died Friday, April 11, 2003 in Huntsville Hospital Main, will be held Sunday, April 13, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Van Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Todd was a native of Dekalb Co., AL, a cabinet maker and locksmith for Redstone Arsenal, a member of the 1st Baptist Church, life member of the V.F.W. Post 2167 and life member of Towry/Towery Family of America, and a WWII Army combat disabled veteran with Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart & Oak Leaf Cluster Bronze Large, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal & Bronze Star attachment (Quadruple), World War II Victory Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge 1st Award, Belgian Fourragere, Honorable Service Lapel Button with Marksman Badge & Pistol Bar & Rifle Bar. Survivors include his wife Ruth Jacks Todd of Fayetteville, TN; 2 sons: Wayne & Faye Todd of Franklin, TN, Ronny & Kaye Todd of Murfreesboro, TN; 3 grandchildren: Devan Todd, Michael Todd, Tracey Todd; 1 great grandchild: Kylee Elizabeth Todd; 1 sister: Opha Cuzzort of Elora, TN; 1 brother: Aaron Todd of New Market, AL. Mrs. Hazel W. Clark

Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel W. Clark, age 86, of Bellview Rd., Fayetteville, who died Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at Lincoln Medical Center, will be conducted Friday, May 2, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Dr. Calvin Todd officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Clark was a native of Deposit, AL, former owner of Clark’s Grocery, and she held the longest membership at Fayetteville Associate Reform Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband: James Thomas Clark in 1992, parents: Bernard & Elizabeth Welsh, 1 sister: Evelyn Copeland in 1998, and 1 brother: Clifford Welsh in 1963. Survivors include 3 daughters: Jean & James Forbes of Huntsville, AL, Sandra & John Curtis & Carolyn & Jack Boaz all of Fayetteville; 1 son: Rev. J. Don & Shirley Clark of Birmingham, AL; 1 sister: Lois Welsh of Chattanooga, TN; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Kent, age 58, of Fayetteville, who died Monday, May 12, 2003, at Lincoln Skill Care, will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Bolin and Rev. Hubert Smith officiating. Burial will follow in New Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Kent was a native of Lincoln County, a housewife and a member of the Full Gospel Church. Mrs. Josephine A. Bengston

Graveside services for Mrs. Josephine A. Bengston, age 84, of Bloomington, Minnesota, who died Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at Bloomington Care Center, will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. in the Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Bengston was a native of Burnett County, Wisconsin, a nurse anesthetist in Fayetteville and a Navy Nurse in WWII. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law: Gary & Beth Bengston; grandson: Christopher Bengston and many nieces and nephews. Mr. George was a native of Bowling Green, Ky and a heavy equipment operator.
