Jeff Bennett and Bro. Joel Carwile officiating. Burial will follow in Blanche Cemetery. Mrs. Curtis was a native of Lincoln County, a retired counselor and a member of the First Baptist Church of Taft. She was preceded in death by her husband: Harold T. Curtis and her parents: Connie Glover & Viola Vaughn Glover. Survivors include 3 sons: Harold Phillip Curtis, Bill Curtis, & Ronald J. Curtis all of Taft, TN; 1 granddaughter: Nikki L. Curtis; 5 Grandsons: Chad Curtis, Greg Curtis, Brian Curtis, Heath Curtis and Adam Curtis; 1 sister: Betty Hudson of Huntsville, AL. Funeral services for Bro. Gayle Kenneth Wood, Sr., age 80, of Athens, AL, who died Wednesday, November 26, 2003 in

Huntsville Hospital, will be held Saturday, November 29, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Rusty Lincoln and Rev. Marshall Norman officiating. Burial will follow in New Grove Cemetery. Bro. Wood was a native of San Antonio, TX, a physical science technician for NASA, a member of the Stateline Freewill Baptist Church and a long time member of the 32nd Degree MASON Blue Lodge Twickenham Chapter in Huntsville, AL. Survivors include his wife: Frances B. Wood of Athens, AL; 1 son: Gayle Kenneth Wood, Jr. of Hixson, TN; 1 daughter: Dorothy Louise Lindquist of San Antonio, TX; 2 step-sons: Dennis Ray Patterson and Bobby Joe Patterson both of Ardmore, TN; 4 step-daughters: Becky Morris of Ardmore, AL, Rita Haney of Athens, AL, Betty Graves of Huntsville, AL, Brenda Hamm of Toney, AL; 2 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and numerous step-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dona Rowell

Funeral services for Mrs. Dona Rowell, age 89, of Clark St., Fayetteville, TN, who died Friday, November 28, 2003 in Lincoln Medical Center, will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Edgar officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Rowell was a native of Limestone County, AL, a seamstress for Serbin and a member of the Prosperity ARP Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Your family will miss you. She was preceded in death by her husband: Russell Rowell and 1 son: Frank Rowell. Survivors include her daughter-in-law: Marianela Rowell of Fayetteville, TN; 2 grandsons: Frank Rowell and Robert Rowell; 4 great grandchildren:

W.D. Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in Moore Cemetery. Mrs. Hearlston was a native of Wayne County, TN, a nurse and a member of the Elora Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband: Jasper Leon Hearlston, 1 son: Jasper Lee Hearlston; 5 brothers: Lee, Melvin, Woody, Rueben & A.C. Vickery and 2 sisters: Pauline Kilburn and Rosa Rideout. Survivors include 3 daughters: Debra Jean Mitchell of Fayetteville, Janet Lynn Sanders of Fayetteville, Vicki Darlene White of Flintville; 2 sons: Michael Leon Hearlston of Flintville, Larry Jay Hearlston of Fayetteville; 1 sister: Marveline Montgomery of Washington, IL; 1 brother: Jack Vickery of Fayetteville; 8 grandsons, 4 granddaughters and 2 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Ret. Lt. Col. Faunetta L. Brown

Graveside funeral services for retired Lt. Col. Faunetta L. Brown will be conducted Thursday, December 04, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the Flintville Cemetery with Rev. Margaret Brown officiating. Lt. Col. Brown went to be with the Lord on December 2, 2003. She was born in Flintville, TN on October 18, 1917 and retired in Montgomery, AL in 1963 after serving 20 years in the Air Force. She retired from Baptist Hospital in 1976. In 1995, she moved to William F. Green Veterans Home. Faunetta was a very loving and caring person who did a lot for others. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Diane Gray & Jim Sepan; 2 grandsons and their wives: James E. ‘Jimmy’ & Christie Gray & David C. & Julie Gray; 2 great grandsons: David C. Gray, Jr., Cooper E. Gray; 2 great granddaughters: Payton A. Gray and Caroline G. ‘Gracie’ Gray all of Wetumpka, Alabama; 2 brothers: Hugh E. & Laurrine Brown of San Diego, CA, Charles E. & Roberta Brown of Panama City Beach, FL; several nieces and nephews and long time family friend: Joann Carlisle. Faunetta was a long time supporter of the Brandwood Children Home in Montgomery and the family ask that in lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Children’s Home.

Mike Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Keller was a native of Lincoln County, a nurse aide and a member of the West End Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband: J.D. Keller in 1986. Survivors include 3 sons: Jerry W. Keller of Murfreesboro, TN, Jimmy R. Keller of Raleigh, NC, Bobby Keller of Murfreesboro, TN; 2 sisters: Pauline Philpot and Margie Campbell both of Fayetteville, TN; 1 brother: Earl Bennett of Fayetteville, TN; 3 grandchildren. Mr. Herman W. Satterfield

Funeral services for Mr. Herman W. Satterfield, age 87, of Joe Quick Rd., New Market, AL, who died Monday, December 8, 2003 in Huntsville Hospital, will be held Thursday, December 11, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Concord Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. James Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Bevills Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Satterfield was a native of Madison County, AL, a program administrator for the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture Civil Service where he retired after 35 years, a member of the Woodmen of the World and a member of the Concord Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder since 1950. He was preceded in death by his wife: Norma T. Satterfield on November 24, 2002. Survivors include 1 son: Gerry & Pamela Satterfield of New Market, AL; 3 grandchildren: Troy Satterfield, Kevin Satterfield and Jennifer Bartlow; 3 great grandchildren: Natalie Bartlow, Taylor Bartlow and Alex Satterfield. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Concord Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services for Mrs. Maggie Baker, age 95, of Crystal Springs Rd., Kelso, TN, who died Thursday, December 11, 2003 in Donalson Care Center, will be held Sunday, December 14, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Elder Eugene Turner and Elder Jim Cranford officiating. Burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery. Mrs. Baker was a native of Madison County, AL, a homemaker and a member of the Park City Latter Day Saints Church. She was preceded in death by her husband: Olson B. Baker. Survivors include 3 sons: Carl Edward Baker of Birmingham, AL, Charlie Baker of Akron, OH, Frank Baker of Fayetteville, TN; 3 daughters: Maxine Corder, Dorothy Moses both of Akron, OH, Margaret Harmon of Dalton, GA; 1 brother: Dewey Milton Brooks of Memphis, TN; 2 sisters: Addie Mae Smith of Memphis, TN, Ruby Evelyn Bragg of Mississippi; 22 grandchildren; 36 Great Grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Mildred Steelman

Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Steelman, age 82, of Bagley Hollow Rd., Fayetteville, TN, who died Friday, December 12, 2003 at her residence, will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Booneville Cemetery. Mrs. Steelman was a native of Lincoln County, TN, a homemaker, a member of Charity Baptist Church and a member of the Moore County Auxiliary Fire Dept. She was preceded in death by her husband: Walter Steelman on February 28, 2003. Survivors include 1 daughter: Shelbie Steelman of Lynchburg, TN and 1 sister: Reba George of New Hope, TN. Mrs. Ozell Syler

Funeral services for Mrs. Ozell Syler, age 85, of Shady Grove Cemetery Road, Flintville, TN, who died Wednesday, December 17, 2003 in Lincoln Medical Center, will be conducted Saturday, December 20, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Syler was a native of Lincoln County, TN, a housewife and a member of the Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband: Marvin ‘Hoss’ Syler and 2 grandsons: Roger D. West and Wendell R. West. Survivors include 1 daughter and son-in-law: Janice & Rhea B. West of Flintville, TN; 1 granddaughter: Debra West of Winchester, TN; 1 sister: June Moorehead of Elora, TN; 2 brothers: R.D. Hall of Flintville, TN & Ronnie Hall of Huntland, TN. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mr. Phillip W. Dugger

Phillip W. Dugger passed away at home on December 24, 2003 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. His last wish was to be at home. He was born November 8, 1947 to Robert Allen and Dorothy Prosser Dugger, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife: Nancy Dugger of Lewisburg, TN; his step-daughter and her husband: Carrie and Jeremy Phillips and 2 step grandsons: Alexander and Matthew Phillips of Kailua, Hawaii; his son: Jeff Dugger of Fayetteville, TN; mother-in-law and father-in-law: William and Mary Bates; sisters-in-law: Vicki Nelson of Stockholm, Wisconsin, Betty Westberg of Prescott Wisconsin, Kathryn Ebben of Eau Claire, Wisconsin and nieces and nephews. He was employed at ICP in Lewisburg for 34 years until the plant closing. Memorial services will be Saturday, January 3, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Hospice Chaplain Gloria Watts officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Roy Mitchell

Funeral services for Mr. Roy Mitchell, age 72, of Henry Thompson Rd., Taft, TN, who died Monday, December 29, 2003 in Crestwood Hospital, will be conducted Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Stateline Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Charles Marable and Bro. Ed Burrow officiating. Burial will follow in Blanche Cemetery. Mr. Mitchell was a native of Lincoln County, a heavy equipment operator for CFW Construction and a member of the Stateline Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death his parents: Jim & Kate Lou Mitchell; 2 children: Connie Mitchell & Donna Shelton; 2 sisters: Leona Beddingfield & Mamie Sanderson and 2 brothers: Junebug & Otis Mitchell. Survivors include his wife: Robbie Mitchell of Taft, TN; 4 daughters: Judy & Rooster Stanford of Beech Hill, TN, Freda & Rob Abel of Fayetteville, TN, Tina Williams of Taft, TN, Keri Pettie of Fayetteville, TN; 5 sons: Tony & Dolly Mitchell of Bethel, AL, Barry & Vickie Mitchell of Taft, TN, Cotton & Peggy Mitchell of McBurg, TN, Don Mitchell of Cyruston, TN, Bill & Tonya Mitchell of Fayetteville, TN; 2 sisters: Kristine Rose of High Point, NC, Ruby Hopper of Fayetteville, TN; 3 brothers: Jack Mitchell of High Point, NC, Joe Mitchell of Bessemer, AL, Jessee Mitchell of High Point, NC; 21 Grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Satterfield was a native of Madison County, AL, a secretary for the Alabama Extension System where she retired after 29 years and a member of the Concord Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
