Frances Nell Fountain
Jones Unity Funeral Home, Monroeville
Frances Nell Fountain, 55, of Peterman died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011 at Mobile Infirmary.
Fountain was a native and lifelong resident of Monroe County. She was a homemaker and attended Amity Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Willie S. Fountain of Peterman; one son, Damon (Tina Triplett) Fountain of Moss Point, Miss.; one daughter, Pam Johnson of Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, Ollie (Louise) Thompson of Moss Point and Larry Davis of Peterman; and six grandchildren.
A wake will be held Friday, Jan. 21 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Jones Unity Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 22 at 11 a.m. at Amity Baptist Church with Rev. Ollie Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Annie Gaillard
Jones Unity Funeral Home, Monroeville
Annie Gaillard of Birmingham died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011 at her home.
Gaillard was born in Claiborne and worked at Frisco City High School and Englewood Nursing Home. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church Claiborne where she was a member of the choir and Missionary Department. She was also a member of the Ruth Choice Chapter Number 821 Perdue Hill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Gaillard; her parents, James Dean and Hannah Rabb; two sons, Henry Lambert and Willie Lambert; a daughter who died at birth; two granddaughter, Sonja Lambert and Synethia Gaillard; and two sisters, Edna Pickett and Hattie Gideon.
Survivors include eight daughters, Annie Nixon, Barbara Lambert, Betty Walker and Gwen Gaillard, all of Birmingham, Catherine (Larry) Watts of Frisco City, Linda (Jonathan) Moore of Atlanta, Ga., Angela Gaillard of Clarksville, Tenn., Stephanie Nixon of England; one son, Samuel (Tameka) Gaillard of Birmingham; one sister, Mary Ambrose of Columbus, Ga.; a sister-in-law, JoAnn Gaillard; a brother-in-law, Jack Gaillard; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 22 at 1:30 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Claiborne.

Evelyn G. Harrison
Monroe Chapel, Frisco City
Evelyn G. Harrison, 92, died Monday, January 17, 2011 at Englewood Health Care Facility.
Harrison, a lifelong resident of Monroe County, lived in Excel. She was a member of Excel Baptist Church and retired from Vanity Fair where she worked as a sewing machine operator.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Harrison; her son, David Max Green, Sr.; her granddaughter, Tonya Green; her parents, Robert and Lola Fountain; her sister, Willie Dee Fountain; and her brothers, Kenneth Fountain and Bobby Fountain.
Survivors include her sisters, Betty (James) Hooks of Ollie and Norma Sue Williams of Pensacola; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday, Jan. 19 at 2 p.m. at Excel Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Harden officiating. Burial followed in Poplar Springs Cemetery.

Jacob C. Hatter
Monroe Chapel, Frisco City
Jacob C. Hatter, 62, of Uriah died Monday, Jan. 10, 2011 at his home.
Hatter was born in Mobile and resided in Tennessee for many years and was a resident of Uriah for a short time. He worked with Piedmont Natural Gas Company in Tennessee and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and had served in the Army, National Guard and the Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Jean Hatter of Pleasant View, Tenn.; two sons, Timothy Hatter and Jason Gary (Rona) Hatter, both of Pleasant View; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A private family service will take place at a later date in Pleasant View.

Daisy Belle Jeter
Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, Atmore
Daisy Belle Jeter, 92, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2011 in Mineola.
Jeter was a native and lifelong resident of Mineola and attended Little River Holiness Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Agee Jeter; a son, James Harvey Jeter; her parents, Frank and Janie Ruth (Hayles) Davis; a brother, George Lee Davis; three sisters, Nannie Sheets, Mazie Chavies and Lula Dell Harris; and a son-in-law, O.W. Bryars.
Survivors include a son, Robert “Bo” (Lynn) Jeter of Mineola; six daughters, Louise Marie Jeter, Joyce Lanell Bryars and Shirley (Sam) Hill, all of Mineola, Frances (Cecil) Willis of Goodway and Margaret (Tony) Richerson of Bay Minette and Shelby (Jerry) Hayles of Uriah; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and a number of great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 12 from 4 p.m. until funeral time at the Little River Holiness Church. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 13 at 10 a.m. at the Little River Holiness Church with Rev. Joe B. Roberson, Rev. D.L. Harville and Rev. John Hammond officiating. Burial will follow in Mineola Cemetery.

Ray Bryant Lacy
Johnson Funeral Home, Monroeville
Ray Bryant Lacy, 73, of Pensacola, Fla. died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011.
Lacy was a native of Columbus, Miss. and had resided in Pensacola for many years. He had owned and operated an environmental protection company.
He is survived by his wife, Amany of Pensacola, Fla.; two sons: Gregory Bryant (Tee) Lacy of Baton Rouge, La. and Anthony Ray (Lisa) Lacy of Mobile; two daughters, Angela Lacy (Mark) McClintock of Birmingham and Brent Elisabeth (Ashley) Joyner of Albany, Ga.; one brother: Jerry Lacy of Zachary, La.; and five grandchildren.
Services were Sunday, Jan. 16 at 2 p.m. at the Philadelphia Baptist Church in Tunnel Springs.

Montez Norris Lambert
Monroe Chapel, Frisco City
Montez Norris Lambert, 90, of Goodway died Friday, Jan. 14, 2011 at a family member’s home.
Lambert was a lifelong resident of Monroe County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Goodway, the Senior Citizens Group of Huxford and the Garden Club. She worked with Vanity Fair for several years at their sewing plant in Monroeville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Locklin Lambert; and her son, Drew Lambert.
Survivors include Randolph (Ida Rene) Lambert of Mexia; two daughters, Diane (Wayne) Godwin of Goodway and Joyce Gantt of Spanish Fort; a brother, William Clayton Norris of Goodway; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sunday, Jan. 16 at 2 p.m. at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne McMillian officiating. Burial followed in Sowell Old Field Cemetery in Goodway.

Sheena Faye Thomas Mwau
Jones Unity Funeral Home, Monroeville
Sheena Faye Thomas Mwau, 52, of Daphne died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011 in Thomas Hospital in Fairhope.
Mwau was a native and lifelong resident of Baldwin County. She was a nurse at Thomas Hospital of Daphne and attended Tate Chapel A.M.E Church where she was a trustee, usher and involved in Sunday school.
Survivors include Nellie Harris of Little River; two daughters, Stacey Thomas of Daphne and Marquitta Thomas of Mobile; five brothers, George Thomas Jr., Shedrick Thomas, both of Little River, Henry Thomas of Washington State, Marvin Thomas of Bromley and Randy Thomas of Mobile; one sister, Dicinia Naves of Bay Minette; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 22 at 11 a.m. at Tate Chapel A.M.E. Church Little River with Franklin Robinson Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Nancy B. Andrews
Dunklin and Daniels Funeral Home, Camden
Nancy B. Andrews, 81, of Camden, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2011.
Andrews was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Hays Andrews; one son Alan H. Andrews; and a daughter-in-law. Gayle Andrews.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol F (Gene) Agee of Arlington; two sons, Carl B. (Joyce) Andrews of Central, S.C. and Leon P. Andrews of Monroeville; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Services were held on Sunday, Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. from First Presbyterian Church of Camden with Rev. John Boles officiating. Burial followed in Camden City Cemetery.

William Frank “Bud” Brantley Jr.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc. Atmore
William Frank “Bud” Brantley Jr., 81, of Atmore died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011 in Fairhope.
Brantley was born in Monroe County and was the owner of Brantley Tires in Monroeville. He was a US Army veteran and was the treasurer at the Presley Street Baptist Church. He was also on the Alabama Tire Dealers and Retreaders Association board of directors.
He was preceded in death his parents, William Frank and Myra Wiggins Brantley Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie Crawford Brantley; one son, William Frank (Kelly) Brantley III of Atmore; one daughter, Jana (Tim) Brower of Loxley; four brothers, Charles (JoEllen) Brantley of Gulf Shores and Robert E. (Gwen) Brantley, Harlan (Geneva) Brantley and Joe W. (Mary Emma) Brantley, all of Atmore; two sisters, Christine (Ralph) Culbreth of Evergreen and Eloise Leggiero of Prescott, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday, Feb. 12 at 3 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Mike Grindle officiating. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Lida Louise Burell
Monroe Chapel, Frisco City
Lida Louise Burell, 78, of Excel died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011 at Monroe County Hospital.
Burell was a longtime resident of Monroe County. She attended Enon Baptist Church in Goodway and worked as a seamstress for many years. After her retirement, she worked as a caregiver.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William David Goodman and Martha Watford Goodman; her husband, William Seay Burrell; her daughters, Faye Burrell and Mattie Womack; her grandchild, Scottie Hadley; her son-in-law, Allen Bodiford; five sisters; and one brother.
Survivors include her husband, M.C. Mosley of Excel; a son, William Seay (Diana) Burrell Jr. of Excel; a daughter, Louise Bodiford of Excel; a brother, Charlie Goodman of Goodway; two sisters, Sarah Geneva Singleton and Lois Cornelia O’Neil, both of Excel; 11 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Feb. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Monroe Chapel. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. at Monroe Chapel with Rev. C.L. Langford and Rev. Mitch Jordan. Burial will follow in the Coleman Assembly of God Church Cemetery in Wildfork.
