PECOLA FLUKER

SYLACAUGA Funeral service for Pecola Fluker, 83, will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Roosevelt Peterson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Fluker died Aug. 4 at her residence. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, the Missionary Society and the senior choir.

She is survived by daughters, Mary Fluker, Nellie Wilson, Willie Bell Woods and Pearline Embry of Sylacauga and Minnie Fowler and Patricia Roston of Childersburg; son, Arthur L. Fluker of Talladega; 45 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Granddaughters and friends of the family will serve as flowerbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from noon until 9 p.m.

Community Funeral Home will direct the service.

OPAL DEAN GOODEN

MUNFORD Funeral service for Opal Dean Gooden, 75, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Ironaton Church of Christ with Cliff Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial Park.

Mrs. Gooden died Aug. 5 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Gooden. She was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega County, was a member of Ironaton Church of Christ and was a homemaker.

She is survived by daughters, Debbie Blackburn, Alice Blankenship and Jan Gooden of Talladega; sisters, Helen Haney, Mavis Taylor and Linda Pate of Talladega; brother, Bobby Allen of Talladega; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Allen, Russell Gooden, Sammy Haney, Blake Taylor, Kenneth Allen and Mickey Haney.

Honorary pallbearers will be William Haynes Sr. and Jimmy Allen.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:30 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.

Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.

CHARLES MARVIN OGLETREE

LINCOLN Graveside service for Charles Marvin Ogletree will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Lincoln Cemetery with the Rev. Louie Fincher and the Rev. Kent Maddox officiating.

Mr. Ogletree died Aug. 5 at Baptist Medical Center Montclair in Birmingham. He was a native and lifelong resident of Lincoln and was a member of Word of Life Ministries in Pell City. He attended Word Alive Ministries in Coldwater. He was a lab manager and technician at Affordable Denture Dental Lab in Pell City and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a trustee at Word of Life and clerk Sunday school teacher at Lincoln Church of God for 15 years.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Evelyn Ogletree of Lincoln; son, Charles Keith Ogletree of Lincoln; daughter, LaKeetha Skinner of Oxford; and grandchildren, Kayla Marie Ogletree, Brittni Mahala Skinner and James Alexander Moates.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Carpenter, Roger Dale Hurst, David Skinner, Mike Grubbs, Frank Miller and Ralph Finn.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. R. Rhodes, Dr. Rick Mitchell, Dr. Joe Sawyer, Dr. David Sawyer and Dr. Ivey Smith.

Usrey Funeral Home will direct the service.

EDNA K. ADAMS

MUNFORD Funeral service for Edna K. (Fowler) Adams, 87, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ronny Moore and the Rev. Craig Young officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Talladega.

Mrs. Adams died Aug. 5 at Regional Medical Center. She was a resident of Munford all of her life. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class. She had worked for Oxford Nursery and Kindergarten. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Lee Adams; her husband, J.D. (Donas) Adams; stepdaughter, Mary Jane Stewart; stepson, James Adams; and two sisters, Mable Smith and Pauline Fuller.

She is survived by daughter, B. Joyce Holland of Munford; stepdaughters, Alice Schultz of Georgia and Gwen Adams of Oxford; stepsons, Tommy Adams of Oxford and Aubrey Adams of Oxford; sisters, Louise Morgan and Sara Gatlin of Munford; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren; 16 stepgreat-grandchildren; three stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bill Haynes Sr., Bill Haynes Jr., Randall Schultz, Don King, Tony Holland, Lester Conaway and Rick Vandiver.

Honorary pallbearers will be Teresa Wilson, John Clark Keller, Mike Gatlin, Ben Gatlin, Brad Haynes and the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class of Antioch Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Miller Funeral Home will direct the service.

MYRTLE COLLINS BLANKENSHIP

SYLACAUGA Funeral service for Myrtle Collins Blankenship, 77, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacauga with the Rev. Jimmy Dale Abrams officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga.

Mrs. Blankenship died Aug. 5 at Coosa Valley BMC. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Etheredge.

She is survived by daughters, Barbara Fulmer and husband Larry Fulmer of Sylacauga, Joann Skinner and husband James Skinner of Sylacauga and Brenda Stacey and husband Gene Stacey of Sylacauga; sons, Terry Blankenship of Sylacauga and Buddy Blankenship and wife Nancy Blankenship of Sylacauga; sister, Dean Reiter of California; brother, Olan Collins of Harpersville; granddaughters, Linda Goodson, Lisa Davis and husband Craig Davis, Becky Allen and husband Raymond Allen, Jenny Cotney and husband Chris Cotney and Frances Andrews and husband Barry Andrews; grandsons, Pee Wee Stacey and wife Becky Stacey, Duncan Stacey and wife Sherry Stacey, Dale Fulmer and wife Rose Fulmer and Hugo Blankenship and wife Jamie Blankenship; and great-granddaughters, Brandy Goodson, Lacey Davis, Brittany Stacey, Krystal Goodson, Jaclyn Fulmer and Nicole Davis.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Stacey, Pee Wee Stacey, Hugo Blankenship, Richard Thrower, Chris Cotton and Randy Johnson.

KATHRYN ELIZABETH BUTERA

PELHAM Funeral service for Kathryn Elizabeth Butera was Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacauga with the Rev. Tom Hilyer officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga.

The infant died Aug. 3.

She is survived by her parents, Tommy Butera and Tammy Butera of Pelham; sister, Amy Larussa of Pelham; brother, Tom Butera of Pelham; grandparents, Kathryn West and Herbert West of Sylacauga and Tilla Butera of Pelham; and uncle, Herbie West of Sylacauga.

LINDA DOBBS

SYLACAUGA Linda Dobbs, of 405 Hubbard Ave., died Aug. 5 at her residence.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Community Funeral Home.

JOHN WALTER GRIMES

PENSACOLA, Fla. Funeral service for John Walter (J.W.) Grimes, 87, will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North chapel. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Grimes died Aug. 3 at his residence. He was born Jan. 9, 1916, in Coosa County to James E. and Judy B. Grimes. He had been a resident of Pensacola since 1957, coming from Stewartville. He was the owner of several auto body repair shops in Pensacola for many years. He was preceded in death by a son, John Palmer Grimes; six brothers; and one sister.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Grimes; daughter, Shirley Ann Grimes Lewis and husband John; son, Billy Alexander and wife Linda; grandchildren, Lynn Gamewell (Tom), Kathy White (Matt), Debbie Williams (Robert), Michael Alexander (Lisa), Mark Alexander (Carmen), Jeffrey Grimes, Mary Grimes, Judy Grimes, Connie Grimes, Gary Taylor, Larry Taylor and Scott Taylor (Cindy); and 28 great-grandchildren.

His grandsons, Gary Taylor, Larry Taylor, Scott Taylor, Michael Alexander, Mark Alexander and Robert Williams, will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.

DAVID RANKIN

ANNISTON David Rankin, 39, died Aug. 6.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Anniston Funeral Service.
