MYRTLE COLLINS BLANKENSHIP

SYLACAUGA Funeral service for Myrtle Collins Blankenship, 77, was Thursday at 2 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacauga with the Rev. Jimmy Dale Abrams officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga.

Mrs. Blankenship died Aug. 5 at Coosa Valley BMC. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Etheredge.

She is survived by daughters, Barbara Fulmer and husband Larry Fulmer of Sylacauga, Joann Skinner and husband James Skinner of Sylacauga and Brenda Stacey and husband Gene Stacey of Sylacauga; sons, Terry Blankenship of Sylacauga and Buddy Blankenship and wife Nancy Blankenship of Sylacauga; sister, Dean Reiter of California; brother, Olan Collins of Harpersville; granddaughters, Linda Goodson, Lisa Davis and husband Craig Davis, Becky Allen and husband Raymond Allen, Jenny Cottney and husband Chris Cottney and Frances Andrews and husband Barry Andrews; grandsons, Pee Wee Stacey and wife Becky Stacey, Duncan Stacey and wife Sherry Stacey, Dale Fulmer and wife Rose Fulmer and Hugo Blankenship and wife Jamie Blankenship; great-granddaughters, Brandy Goodson, Lacey Davis, Brianna Stacey, Brittany Stacey, Krystal Goodson, Jaclyn Fulmer and Nicole Davis; great-grandsons, Runt Stacey, Cody Johnson, Bradley Cottney and Austin Cottney; stepgranddaughter, Jessica Vick; and stepgrandsons, Brandon Bone, Corbit Barnett and Justin Andrews.

Pallbearers were Duncan Stacey, Pee Wee Stacey, Hugo Blankenship, Richard Thrower, Chris Cotton and Randy Johnson.

SANDRA HAMPTON HICKMAN

MELBOURNE, Fla. Funeral service for Sandra Hampton Hickman, 64, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Central Baptist Church in Greenville with the Rev. Herbert Brown officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Hickman died Aug. 3. She was a 1953 graduate of Talladega High School and was a graduate of Auburn University. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Charles and Cora Hampton.

She is survived by her husband, Joe L. Hickman of Melbourne, Fla.; sons, Lt. Col. Kyle DeWayne Hickman of Fayetteville, N.C., and Joseph Lon Hickman of Atlanta, Ga.; and three grandchildren.

Dunklin-Herndon Funeral Home in Greenville will direct the service.

ESHAILA AMORISSA BAKER

TALLADEGA Infant Eshaila Amorissa Baker died Aug. 6 at Citizens BMC.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Usrey Funeral Home.

HOSEY BEDFORD

MARGARET Funeral service for Hosey Bedford, 76, of 51 Loop Road, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Rocky Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. John Herd and the Rev. W.J. Posey officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Bedford died July 31 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Bedford and Carrie McKenzie Bedford; a sister, Emma Mae Bolden; and a brother, Joseph Bedford. He was a member of Rocky Zion Baptist Church and was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons. He was a former pulpwood employee.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline McGowan Bedford of Birmingham; daughters, Ruby M. Kaynard, Mary Lee Bedford and Monica L. Bedford of Margaret, Olivia Bedford and Dena C. Houser of Birmingham, Cathy B. Bedford of Leeds and Rita Bell Knights of Detroit, Mich.; sons, Henry E. Bedford and Eric McGowan of Pell City, Hosey Bedford Jr. of Birmingham, Robbie Z. Bedford of Talladega, Joseph L. Bedford of Margaret, Benny R. Bedford of Cropwell and Clifford D. Bedford of Ashville; sister, Sally McGraw of Birmingham; brother, Paul Bedford of Detroit, Mich.; 23 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Henry E. Bedford, Robbie Z. Bedford, Joseph L. Bedford, Benny R. Bedford, David Bedford, DeWayne Bedford and Melvin D. Bedford.

The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.

Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the service.

MARY ELIZABETH COTTON

MUNFORD Funeral service for Mary Elizabeth Cotton, 81, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Munford Church of Christ with Jeff Clark officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Mrs. Cotton died Aug. 6 at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Munford, was a member of Munford Church of Christ and was retired from Hill Elementary School as a lunchroom manager. She was a regular visitor of nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

She is survived by daughters, Judy C. Robinson and Brenda J. Cotton of Munford; sons, Homer E. Cotton Jr. of Pell City and Rickey B. Cotton of Dallas, Ga.; sister, Johnnie Mintz of Munford; brothers, Howard C. Foshee of Munford and E. Beryl Foshee of Gadsden; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Deacons and Elders of Munford Church of Christ and J.C. (Coon) Stephens will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Usrey Funeral Home will direct the service.

JARMELVIN DAVIS

ALEXANDER CITY Infant Jarmelvin Davis died Aug. 7 at Children's Hospital.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Wright's Funeral Home.

DeJEE LEE HICKMAN

EMERALD ISLE, N.C. Funeral service for DeJee Lee Hickman, 37, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Central Baptist Church in Greenville with the Rev. Herbert Brown officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Miss Hickman died Aug. 1. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Thermyl L. Hickman.

She is survived by her father, Joe L. Hickman of Melbourne, Fla.; brothers, Lt. Col. Kyle DeWayne Hickman of Fayetteville, N.C., and Joseph Lon Hickman of Atlanta, Ga.; and numerous other relatives.

Dunklin-Herndon Funeral Home in Greenville will direct the service.

WILLIAM A. JONES

ASHVILLE Funeral service for William A. (Bill) Jones, 68, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Trussville Chapel with the Rev. Jack Freeman and the Rev. Jerry Scott officiating. Burial will be in Ashville Cemetery.

Mr. Jones died Aug. 6. He was devoted to his wife and children. He was an active deacon at Pinedale Baptist Church and was retired from Connors Steel.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey E. Jones; children, David King, Barbara Brashier and Sharon Jones; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ridout's Trussville Chapel will direct the service.

ELLA PATE MORRISON

DELTA Funeral service for Ella Pate Morrison, 91, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Union D. Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Morrison died Aug. 7 at Clay County Nursing Home. She was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County, was a homemaker and a member of Union D. Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clifton Morrison and Perry John Morrison.

She is survived by son, Jackie Morrison of Oxford; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Nephews and friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 8 p.m. Saturday and until one hour before the service.

The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.

Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland will direct the service.

GERALD A. ROMARY

CANTON, Ohio Mass of Christian burial for Gerald A. Romary, 84, will be Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Catholic Church in Canton, Ohio with Fr. Joseph Zamary as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Canton, Ohio.

Mr. Romary died Aug. 5 at Aultman Hospital after a long illness. He was born and raised in Canton. He was a 1936 graduate of McKinley High School. He was a former resident of Louisville, Ohio, and served as the mayor of Louisville from 1952 until 1954. In 1968, he moved to Alabama, where he was the general manager of the Southern Manufacturing Division of the Union Metal Manufacturing Company in Sylacauga. In 1978, he retired from Union Metal and moved back to Canton in 1991. He was a World War II Army veteran, was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and a former member of St. Louis Parish in Louisville. He was a life member and a past Grand Knight of the Louisville K. of C., a member of the Msgr. Graham Assembly 4th Degree K. of C. and a life member of the Louisville Eagles. He was a past president of the Catholic Men's Luncheon Club, a past president of the Catholic Community League Board and a past member of the Louisville and Canton Rotary Clubs. He was a former board member of the Louisville Library Board. He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Leona (Fallot) Romary; a son, James Romary; two brothers, Earl and Edmund Romary; and a son-in-law, John Moulin.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lucille M. (Upperman) Romary; daughters, Suzanne Moulin of Sylacauga, Charlene Michel of Canton, Ohio, and Yvonne Willaman of Canton, Ohio; sons, Gerald A. Romary II of Canton, Ohio, Thomas Romary of Oldsmar, Fla., and Mark Romary of Palm Harbor, Fla.; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael's Catholic Church or a favorite charity.

Lamiell Funeral Home in Canton, Ohio, will direct the service.

WILLIAM DARBY SMITH

KELLYTON Funeral service for William Darby Smith, 47, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Corinth Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy L. Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Corinth Cemetery.

Mr. Smith died Aug. 4 at Russell Medical Center.

He is survived by his mother, Annie L. Hill of Kellyton; stepfather, Edgar Hill of Kellyton; sister, Sheeley Harrell of Kellyton; brother, Horace Curtis of Goodwater; three aunts; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Wright's Funeral Home will direct the service.

BISHOP HENRY WINSTON JR.

ANNISTON Funeral service for Bishop Henry Winston Jr., 72, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Peter's Rock Apostolic Church in Anniston with Dr. Marvin L. Crowe officiating. Burial will be in Eden Hills Cemetery.

Mr. Winston died Aug. 1 at Regional Medical Center. He was retired from Lee Brass. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Sr. and Rosie Lee Winston; and brothers, Otis Winston and Lonnie Winston.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Mae Winston; daughters, Roberta Winston Perry of Anniston, Henri Winston Cooley of Atlanta, Ga., Lenora J. Winston Vinson of New York and Nella Bradford, Ruby Winston and Mary E. Young of Anniston; sons, Dennis (Sky) Winston, Curtis Wayne Winston, Jeremy Winston and Timothy Winston of Anniston, Raymond Lewis Winston, McArthur Winston and King David Winston of Oxford and Nemire Winston; sister, Flora Dantzler of Decatur, Ga.; brother, Charlie Winston of Brooklyn, N.Y.; 25 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.

The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.

Anniston Funeral Service will direct the service.
