FORT MEADE, Fla. — Mr. William Steve Hulsey, 59, passed away Friday, May 9, 2008, at his residence after a long battle with cancer. Steve was born in Jacksonville, Ala. and came to Fort Meade, Fla. in 1972. He was a maintenance mechanic for Mosaic Phosphate Mining, and of the Pentecostal faith. He was a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran; member of American Legion Post #3, Bartow, Fla.; member of Sons of the American Legion; member of the Moose Lodge, Bartow, Fla.; and a former Little League Baseball and Football coach in Fort Meade. He was preceded in death by brothers, Homer Hulsey and Wayne McCurry. He is survived by his wife, Marcia Hulsey, Fort Meade; sons, Dwayne Hulsey and wife, Susie, Zolfo Springs, Fla., and Josh Kintner, Fort Meade, Fla.; daughters, Amy McQuaig, Fort Meade, Fla., Leigh Hulsey and Rosie, Zolfo Springs, Fla., Amanda Gibson, Wauchula, Fla.; brothers, Thomas Hulsey and Benny Hulsey, both of Jacksonville; sister, Frances Campbell, of Jacksonville; six grandchildren, Taylor Hulsey, Michael Forrester, Justin Forrester, Brian McQuaig, Kaylee Gibson, and Ciara Kintner. Mr. Pinkard had been a Public Accountant in this area for fifty years, served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and owned DP Oil convenience store in Wedowee.
