Lillian Busby Leach, 94, of Jemison died Sunday, December 26. Services will be held at Mars Hill Baptist Church, Tuesday, December 28 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Terry Harris and Dr. Kenny Hatcher officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include her son, Hanson Leach of Jemison; two grandsons, Don Leach of Jemison and Mark Braswell of Madison; granddaughter, Sharon Banniza of Nashville; five great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, A. J. Leach and her daughter, Hazel Braswell.

LeCroy, Lorene Elizabeth
September 26, 1913 - January 03, 2002
Funeral services for Lorene E. LeCroy, 88, Maplesville, will be held at Mulberry Baptist Church on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, at 2 p.m. with Rev. David Bishop officiating. Burial will be held at Mulberry Baptist Cemetery in Maplesville, with Martin Funeral Home directing. LeCroy was born on Sept 26, 1913, in Alabama, the daughter of the late Thomas Luther LeCroy and the late Lela Frances White LeCroy. She was a school teacher. She died on Jan. 3, 2002. Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, one may make donations to the Mulberry Baptist Cemetery Fund or the Mulberry Baptist Building Fund.

Mrs. Alice Calloway died Dec. 12 at age 71, she was Widow of Mr. N.J. Calloway. Before her marriage to Mr. Leonard White she was Miss Alice Lenoir. Two Daughters by her first Husband, Mrs. Frank Higgins and Mrs. Bud Alred. She married Mr. Newton J. Calloway 1890. They had one Child, Gussie, Wife of Mr. Grady Harris. Burial was at Samaria. She was Step-Mother of Evan B. Calloway of Walker County, Mrs. D. S. Robinson of Coopers deceased, L.A. Calloway of Clanton, Mrs. H. B. Blenn of Clanton, Dr. John Calloway of Birmingham deceased, Luther Calloway deceased, and of Mrs. Katie Bryant of Coopers.

Funeral services for Harrold Lenoir, 66, of Maplesville were Feb. 8, 1999, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with Rev. Lynn Roe officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Maplesville with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mr. Lenoir was born Jan. 15, 1933 in Chilton County to the late James Lester and Beulah Chambers Lenoir. He was a owner/operator of the fruit stand. He died Feb. 5, 1999, at his residence. He is survived by a son, Ronald Lenoir of Maplesville; a brother Jim Lenoir of Billingsley; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Russell Lenoir. Pallbearers were Shorty Payne, James Lenoir, Greg Dunkin, Jeff Dunkin, Tim Mims and Arthur Lenoir.

Survivors include his sons, Jame Lenoir of Freeport, Fla. and David Lenoir of Hope Hull, Ala.; daughter, Jeanette Hughes of Bilingsley; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was the son of James and Beulah Lenoir. "Selma Times-Journal, " Internet, March 11, 2004, James Oliver "Jim" Lenoir, 76, of Billingsley, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, in Prattville. Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 11, at Mt. Carmel #2 Baptist Church, Maplesville, with the Rev. William Short and the Rev. Lynn Roe officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Maplesville with Martin Funeral Home directing. Survivors include two sons, James Arthur (Boogie) Lenoir of Freeport, Fla., and David Lee Lenoir Hope Hull; one daughter, Jeanette Lenoir Hughes of Billingsley; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Lenoir was born on Oct. 20, 1914, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late William G. and Mary Jane Atkinson. She was a homemaker. She died on Dec. 29, 2000, in Montgomery. Survivors include one daughter, Janelle Faulkner, Montgomery, and one granddaughter.

Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Maplesville with Martin Funeral Home of Clanton directing. Survivors include his wife, Pam Davis Lenoir of Maplesville; his mother Annie G. Lenoir of Maplesville; his father, Harold Lenoir of Maplesville; his brother, Ronald Lenoir of Plantersville; and his grandmother, Ruth Chappelle of Thorsby. Pallbearers will be Tim Mims, James Payne, Mike Bearden, Darrell Hicks, Albert Payne and Jeff Dunkin.

Visitation will be held at Martin Funeral Home chapel on Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, from 5-8 p.m. Lenoir was born on July 22, 1917, in Chilton County, the son of the late Crayton B. and Hattie O. Littlejohn Lenoir. He was a farmer. He died on Dec. 28, 2000, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster. Survivors include two sons, Dale Lenoir and Kenneth Lenoir, both of Clanton; one daughter, Linda Sue Faulkner, Oneonta; one brother, C. B. Lenoir, Tallassee; two sisters, Willie Mae Lenoir and Jewel Smith, both of Tallassee; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Burial was in Midway Memorial Gardens in Jemison with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mr. Lenoir was born April 25, 1913, in Chilton County to the late Edgar and Lena Merchant Lenoir. He worked as a building supply owner. He died Jan. 20, 1999, at Baptist Medical Center in Montgomery. He is survived by his wife, Vonzelle Lenoir of Jemison; a daughter and son-in-law, Janelle and Randy Faulkner of Montgomery; and one granddaughter.

She died Sept 21, 1998, at Bibb Medical Center in Centreville. She is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Lora Dean and Rev. Hyman Atcheson, both of Clanton; a brother and sister-in-law, Curtis and Mamie Jewel Chambers, both of Centreville; four sisters-in-law: Louise Chambers, Annie Chambers, Louise Mount and Dixie Chambers, all of Maplesville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was a lunchroom worker. She died on March 24, 2000, in Montevallo. Survivors include tow sons, James Donald Owens, Gadsden, and Charles E. Owens, Jemison; two sisters, Estelle Pardue, Birmingham, and Mattie Paseur, Brownsboro; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Owens.

Active pallbearers will be Randy Lewellen, Gregg Lewellen, Gary Lewellen, Rudy Lewellen, Darrell Lewellen and Bobby Moseley.

She died on June 30, 2002, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster. Survivors include her husband, Oliver C. Bice, Jemison; one son, Randall J. Dewey Leo Lewis Dewey L. Lewis died June 24 at the age of 75. Mr. Lewis was born February 3, 1929 in Clanton where he was raised. He served seven years in the Air Force. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Birmingham after 30 years of service. He was currently living in Portland, Oregon. Survivors include his wife, Myra Sue Lewis; daughter Vickie Lewis Parker; son Stacy Mac Lewis; brother Cecil Lewis; and granddaughter Scout Rozell-Lewis. Mr. Lewis's ashes will be brought back to Clanton. Family will receive friends on July 1st from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Martin Funeral Home in Clanton. A graveside memorial service will follow at Chilton Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include two sons, Billy Lewis, Calera, and Johnny Lewis, Marvel; two daughters, Michelle Lewis, Willmington, N.C., and Katie Cannady, Calera; three brothers, Walter Hester and J.D. Hester, Calera, and Bill Ashworth, Boaz; and five grandchildren.
