Funeral services for Judith Marie Burt Reynolds, 45, Plantersville, will be held at Martin Funeral Home chapel on Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Maplesville, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Reynolds was born on Oct. 27, 1956, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Mary Frances Atchinson Burt and the late Haywood C. Burt. She was a homemaker. She died on Dec. 26, 2001, at UAB Medical Center. Survivors include one son, Frank (Kim) Reynolds, Selma; one daughter, Angie Marie Quinn, Verbena; one mother, Mary Frances Atchinson Burt, Maplesville; three sisters, Mary Ann (Ben) Smith, Jemison, Nile Burt (Glenn) Pugh, Maplesville, and Theresa (Daniel) Mendez, West Blocton; two brothers, Wade L. (Lisa) Burt and Robert Burt, both of Maplesville, and Candice Pierce, Verbena; 12 nieces and nephews; and six great nieces and nephews.

Claude Reynolds, age 47, was crushed to death by a County Tractor last Sat. Burial was at Clanton City Cemetery. He is survived by his Wife, 4 Sons, Parents, Judge and Mrs. L. H. Reynolds, 2 Brothers, Omar and Grady Reynolds, 2 Sisters, Mrs. William [sic] Newell and Mrs. Winnie Bridges.

Judge L. H. Reynolds died Tuesday. Lewis Henry Reynolds, age 80, was buried in the Clanton City Cemetery. He is survived by his Wife, Mrs. Dora Marshall Reynolds, 2Sons, H. Grady and Omar L. Reynolds, 2 Daughters, Mrs. John M. Bridges of Bessemer, Mrs. John Newell of Clanton, 3 Brothers, W. A. Reynolds of Clanton, S. J. Reynolds of Jemison, M .J. Reynolds of Louisiana, 2 Sisters. He served 3 terms in the Ala. State Legislature. He served 3 terms as Probate Judge of Chilton County, 1904-1934 except for the term of 1911-1916. He was a son of Rev. Job Reynolds and Susie Jordan Reynolds. He was born in Macon County, ala., near Tuskegee in 10-16-1864. Moved to Dry Valley in the Northern part of Chilton Co. in 1870. Visitation will be Feb. 19 at Martin Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Mrs. Chandler, a homemaker, died at Parkland Hospital Feb. 17. Survivors include her son, Daniel Chandler of Clanton; daughters, Ruby Bowden of Clanton, Dottie Adams of Marbury, Susan Isbell of Prattville, Paula Byers of Deslodge, Mo. and Melinda Chandler of Prattville; 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She was the daughter of Earnest William Reynolds and Alma Chandler.

Mr. Rhodes was the son of George and Katie Rhodes.

Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Clanton. Born on Jan. 22, 1921 to Bud Rhodes and Susie Rhodes of Chilton County, he died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center. Survivors include sons Daniel Rhodes of Prattville, Edward Rhodes of Suwanee, Ga., Terry Rhodes of Clanton, Roy Rhodes of Pleasant Grove and Bobby Rhodes of Daphne; daughters Ruby Silveroli of Fountain Valley, Calif., Elsie Williams of Hueytown, Sue Cox of Clanton, Brenda White of Clanton, Judy Wyatt of Thorsby and Sandy Dunn of Prattville; brothers Melvin Rhodes of Clanton and Odell Rhodes of Clanton; sisters Lois Headley of Jemison and Berlie Headley of Jemison; 32 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Riffe, a member of Friendship Baptist Church and former member of Randolph Baptist Church, died July 1 at Perry County Nursing Home in Marion. Burial was in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Lawley with Martin Funeral Home directing. Survivors include five sons, James Thurston "J. T." Crowe Jr. of Selma, William Bryant Crowe, Paul A. Crowe, and Jimmy O. Crowe, all of Lawley, C. Blakey Crowe of Maplesville; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Howard of Bessemer; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Thurston Crowe Sr. and T. Hargus Riffe; a daughter, Edith Crowe Hughes; and a son, Harold R. Crowe.

Survivors include two sons, James Eddie Culpepper and Clark Culpepper, one daughter, Johnnie Sue Ennis, Columbiana; three brothers, James Owen Riggins, Lewin Riggins and Cecil Riggins., all of Clanton; three sisters, Ertice Blackwell, Lorene Mims, and Louise Bates, all of Clanton; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Lucy Littlejohn, age 79, died at her Home in Clanton last Sat. Burial at Liberty Hill Cemetery. She was the Widow of Late mr. Jim Littlejohn who died in April of 1928. Before her marriage she was Miss Lucy Riggins, Sister of the Late Rufus C. Riggins. She is survived by 4 Sons, 3 Daughters and 1 Sister.

Riggins, William Gantt, Rev.
March 06, 1847 - November 19, 1928
Gantt Riggins, age 82, died Sunday night a few miles North of Clanton. He was found dead in his home Monday morning. For many years he was an active Baptist Preacher and served many local Churches. He is survived by his Second Wife, Mrs. Gensie Riggins who is a daughter of John Price. His first Wife, Lucinda was daughter of Mr. Joel Childress. He is the Father of 21 Children, 15 still living. Burial was at New Salem Cemetery.

Roberts, Raymond Carl
1906 - July 01, 1998
Funeral services for Raymond Carl Roberts, 92, formerly of Clanton, were July 9, 1998, at Oakwood Cemetery in Sheffield. Mr. Roberts was born in Coopers to the late James H. and Lula Mae McSwain Roberts. He worked as an engineer and held several positions before retiring as a consultant from IBM in 1971. He returned annually to the Roberts family reunion in Clanton. He died July 1, 1998, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika. He is survived by a daughter, Helene R. Alexander of Auburn; a sister Elizabeth Best of Portland Ore.; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Barney, Guy, Norman (Buck) and James Roberts; four sisters: Ruth Roberts, Mae Edwards, Myrtle Wingo and Lola Hall; and his wife, Merrie Helene Roberts.
