Services for Anthony L. "Tony" King, 32, of Anniston will be noon Friday at Anniston Funeral Service with Bishop Harrison Jones officiating. Burial will be in Eden Hills Cemetery. The body will be at the funeral home an hour prior to services.
Mr. King died Monday at Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include a sister, Michelle King of Patterson, N.J.; his mother, Susie King of Patterson; and a special friend, Felicia Wright of Hobson City.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
Mr. King, a Patterson native, had lived in Anniston the past four years. He was a member of Shilo Baptist Church.
OXFORD – Services for Christopher S. Lail, 34, of Oxford will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home in Oxford with Pastor Kelly Lee officiating. Burial will be in Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends 5-8 to-night at the funeral home.
Mr. Lail died Tuesday in Eastaboga.
Survivors include two children, Christopher Shane Lail II and Adrian Lail of Oxford; his mother, Rose Marie Hiett of Clay County; two sisters, Shane Holcomb of Pell City and Angel Landers of Clay County; a brother, Wayne Vice; and his grandmother, Juanita Anderson.
Pallbearers will be Tony Bryant, George Landers, Richard Frye, Kenny Price, Rodney Price, Kyle Humphries and Randy Hiett.
Services for J. LaVaughn Murphree, 82, of Anniston will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary with Revs. Ralph Johnson and Virgil Bohn officiating. Burial will be in Eulaton Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Murphree died Wednesday at Beverly Health Care in Oxford.
Survivors include his wife, Cleo Murphree; a daughter and her husband, Sandy and Ralph Johnson of Guntersville; a son and his wife, Gary L. and Tracie Murphree of Rainbow City; a sister, Mary Nell Roberts of Anniston; and six grandchildren, Jamie Catrett, Jessica Catrett, Jeremy Murphree, Ashley Murphree, Hannah Murphree and Jade Sexton.
Mr. Murphree, an Anniston native, was a member of Eulaton United Methodist Church. A World War II Army veteran, he retired from the Anniston Army Depot. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Floyd and Rosa Lee Murphree; and a sister, Catherine Cooper.
Services for Ben Rimpsey, 68, of Anniston will be announced by Anniston Funeral Service.
Mr. Rimpsey died Wednesday at Jacksonville Health and Rehabilitation.
HOBSON CITY – Services for Willie Mae Springer, 90, of Hobson City will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Apostolic Faith Church in Anniston with Rev. Sammie L. Fears officiating. Burial will be in Edgemont Cemetery
with Ervin Funeral Chapel in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.
Mrs. Springer died Friday at her home.
Survivors include two sons, Moses Springer Jr. and his wife, Loretta, of Hobson City and Johnny Springer and his wife, Renee, of Cincinnati; a sister, Albora Johnson of Birmingham; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be deacons.
Mrs. Springer attended The Apostolic Faith Church. She retired as a cook after working at Calhoun County Training School and C.E. Hanna Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Moses Springer Sr.; a sister, Pearlie Lee Godwin; and a brother, Talmus O’Hare.
CENTRE – Services for Mary Christine Young, 78, of Centre will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Perry Funeral Home with Revs. Donald Young and David Barnhart officiating. Burial will be in Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
Mrs. Young died Thursday at Cherokee County Nursing Home.
Survivors include four sons and their wives, Ronald David and Judy Young, Rev. Donald James and Debbe Young, Arnold Michael and Sue Young, and Danny Paul and Ellen Young; a brother-in-law, Roscoe Young; two sisters-in-law, Alice Young, Margaret Young and Sarah Young; 12 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David Young, Jason Young, Terry Young, Ricky Young, David Ingram, Joey Roberts and Ken Woodall.
Mrs. Young, a Cherokee County native, was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph L. Young.
RANBURNE – Services for Nellie Faye Abercrombie, 68, of Ranburne will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Macedonia Baptist Church. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at Dryden Funeral Home in Ranburne.
Mrs. Abercrombie died Friday at her home.
FORT MYERS, Fla. – Graveside services for Joshua Kane Baker, 27, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Anniston, will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Crestwood Cemetery
in Gadsden with Rev. John Riddle officiating and Crestwood Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends two hours prior to services at the funeral home.
Mr. Baker died Wednesday.
Survivors include a son, Joshua Aiden Baker; his parents, John L. and Vicki Baker; his grandparents, L.D. and Marian Griffith; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Todd Baker, Matthew Williams, Scotty Lockmiller, Donnie Jacobs, James Griffith and Dewayne Bean.
Mr. Baker, a 1995 Wellborn High School graduate, attended the University of South Alabama. He co-owned Josh’s Building and was employed by Beached Whale Restaurant in Fort Myers.
TALLADEGA – Services for Robert Douglas Camp of Talladega will be announced by Usrey Funeral Home.
Mr. Camp died Friday at BMC Montclair in Birmingham.
Services for James Hulett, 59, of Anniston will be announced by Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory.
Mr. Hulett died Friday morning in Tennessee.
HEFLIN – Services for Billy Joe Johnson, 61, of Heflin will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel of Buchanan, Ga., with Rev. Kenneth Howell officiating. Burial will be in Fort Mitchell National Cemetery
in Phenix City. The family will receive friends 6-9 EDT tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Johnson died Wednesday.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph Johnson of Heflin and Michael Johnson of Delta; a sister, Evelyn Maxwell of Dallas; a brother, Claude Johnson Jr. of Newnan, Ga.; and three grandchildren.
CENTRE – Services for Gaylon Matthews, 64, of Centre will be 2 p.m. today at Perry Funeral Home with Rev. Rickey Pollard officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
Mr. Matthews died Thursday at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, Ga.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Jennings Matthews; two sons, Phillip Matthews and his wife, Susan, and Boyd Matthews, all of Centre; two daughters and their husbands, Becky and Eric Smith, and Gayla and Gramling May, all of Centre; his mother, Opal Matthews of Centre; a brother and his wife, Wayne and Willie Matthews of Centre; two sisters, Sue Gossett and Glenda Abernathy and her husband, David, all of Centre; and 12 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Harvel Neyman, Jerry Hincy, Donnie Lambert, Jackie Givens, Jimmy Graham and T.H. "Ty" Prater.
Mr. Matthews, a Cherokee County native, was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. He was employed at Bekaert Corp. in Rome. He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Matthews; a son, Daniel Lee Matthews; and a grandson, Daniel Colt Matthews.

PIEDMONT – Services for Bennie F. Parker, 91, of the Grantley Community in Cleburne County will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Thompson Funeral Home in Piedmont. Burial will be in Grimes Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Parker died Friday at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital in Anniston.
AUBURN – Services for Ann Weathers White, 70, of Auburn, formerly of Roanoke, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Springfield Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Woodard officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 5-7 tonight at Quattlebaum Funeral Home in Roanoke.
Mrs. White died Friday at Bethany House in Opelika.
Survivors include her husband, Tommy White; two sisters, Jenny Pike of Roanoke and Mary Manley of Auburn; and three brothers, Buck Weathers, Joe Weathers and Mike Weathers, all of Roanoke.
Pallbearers will be Gary Manley, Stevan Pike, Chris Weathers, Wade Weathers, Matt Weathers, Keith Manley, Alan Manley, Mark Manley and Shane Weathers.
Mrs. White, a Randolph County native, was a member of Springfield Baptist Church. She had been employed at Palm Beach Company.
