WILLIAM COLLIER

SYLACAUGA Funeral service for William "Bill" Collier, 73, will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Curtis and Son North Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Forbus and the Rev. Timothy Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mr. Collier died Feb. 20 at Baptist Medical Center Princeton. He retired from the Talladega County Sheriff's Department in 1970. He opened WMLS radio in Sylacauga in 1947. Most people knew him as "Pops."

He is survived by four sons, Roger "Possum" Collier, Eddie Collier, Bobby "Smokey" Collier and Ronnie "Bubba" Colllier of Sylacauga; three brothers, Paul Collier, French Collier and Therman Collier of Sylacauga; and four grandchildren, Leslie Collier, Bobbi Reed, Tyler Collier and Heather Collier.

Pallbearers will be Danny Gill, Donnie Watson, Keith Wilson, Richard Todd, Roger Butler and Howard Shell.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.

BARBARA J. BANKS

TALLADEGA Barbara J. Banks, 56, of 3714 Howell Cove Road, died Feb. 21 at her residence.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary.

LENNIE C. LANDRETH

SYLACAUGA Graveside service for Lennie C. Landreth, 95, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery in Greenville, S.C., with the Rev. Tim A. Kerns officiating.

Mrs. Landreth died Feb. 20 at Sylacauga Healthcare Center. She was a native of Greenville, S.C., and had lived in Talladega County for many years. She was a homemaker and a member of Tremont Church of God in Greenville.

She is survived by two sons, Donald L. Landreth of Almeda, Calif., and the Rev. Boyce G. Landreth of Alpine; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.

PAUL BROWN McKIBBEN

RIVERSIDE Funeral service for Paul Brown McKibben, 91, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Doug Ford officiating. Burial will be in St. Clair Memorial Gardens.

Mr. McKibben died Feb. 20. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera McKibben. He was a lifelong resident of St. Clair County and a member of Seddon Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. McKibben co-owned and operated IGA Grocery Store in Ragland with his brother, Porter, for 32 years. He was a veteran of World War II and was affectionately known as the "Apple Man," because of his love for raising apples and peaches.

He is survived by three daughters, Pamela M. Greene, Patricia Willis and Frankie Simmons; a son, Earl Hallman; three sisters, Jessie McKibben, Nellie McKibben and Lois Hubbard; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Russell Greene, Geoff Hudgins, Keith McLauglin, Steven Nickolson, Jerry Pettus and Chad Vice.

Kilgroe Funeral Home, Pell City, will direct the service.

THELMA THWEATT

SYLACAUGA Thelma Thweatt, 87, died Feb. 21.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Radney-Smith Funeral Home.

SUSIE Jones MURRAY

SYLACAUGA Funeral service for Susie Jones Murray, 98, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North chapel with the Rev. Jerry Smith and the Rev. Eddie Forbus officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Murray died Feb. 24 at Sylacauga Health Care. She was preceded in death by her husband, Will Murray; parents, Frank and Kerry Jones; and two sons, Franklin Murray and Durell Thomas Murray. She was the oldest member of Browns Chapel Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She is survived by sons, James Edward Murray of Sylacauga, W.F. (Junior) Murray and wife Virgie of Sylacauga and Hugh Pat Murray and wife Ruth of Sylacauga; daughter-in-law, Robbie Murray of Sylacauga; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Murray, Frankie Murray, Jerry Woods, Daniel Yoder, Harold Murray and Timmy Murray.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.

CORDIE MARTIN ALLRED

HARPERSVILLE Funeral service for Cordie Martin Allred, 65, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg chapel with the Rev. Gary Holcombe officiating. Burial will be in Harpersville Cemetery.

Mr. Allred died Feb. 24 at Coosa Valley BMC.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Allred of Harpersville; daughter, Lesia Holcombe of Alabaster; son, David Allred of Harpersville; brothers, Herbert Allred of Harpersville, Otice Allred of Childersburg, Wayne Allred of Wilsonville, Paul Allred of Vincent and Dennis Allred of Harpersville; half-brother, Robert Allred of Childersburg; stepsisters, Kaye Robinson of Childersburg and Diane Robinson of Cullman; half sisters, Sharon Allred of Columbiana and Tina Allred of Childersburg; and three grandchildren

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:30 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel will direct the service.

FORREST S. BRAZZELL SR.

JACKSON'S GAP Funeral service for Forrest S. Brazzell Sr. will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Wayside Baptist Church with the Rev. Lowell Ledbetter, the Rev. Jason Rogers and the Rev. Lamar Veazey officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Sylacauga.

Mr. Brazzell died Feb. 23 at Jackson Long Term Care Hospital in Montgomery. He was born March 15, 1926, in Sylacauga to Joseph A. and Lena Mae Pruitt Brazzell. An easy-going, principled and imaginative man of humble beginnings, he was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy who began his Federal Civil Service career as a bookkeeper and retired 30 years later, at age 51, from a position as comptroller chief at Fort Rucker Army Base.

He sang in the choirs of Wayside Baptist Church and previously at Southside Baptist in Dothan. A licensed private pilot, he also enjoyed boating, water skiing and jet skiing from his waterfront home on Lake Martin. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, W. Faye Brazzell; his brother, Oliver Brown; and his sister, Iva Mae House.

He is survived by his wife of three years, Jean Neighbors Brazzell; sister, Mattie Hayes; his children, Sherrell Brazzell and Jan Brazzell; step-children, Michael Neighbors, Sandra Bryars and David Neighbors; two grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Jerry, Michael and Billy Culberson, Chris Schell, Jimmy Funderburk and Harold Woodard.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Patterson, Larry Smith and the choir at Wayside Baptist Church.

Radney Funeral Home in Alexander City will direct the service.

EDWIN F. HARRINGTON

SYLACAUGA Funeral service for Edwin F. Harrington, 69, will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacauga with the Rev. Martin Murray officiating. Burial will be in Ft. Mitchell Cemetery in Phenix City.

Mr. Harrington died Feb. 22. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Harrington. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated Ed & Fran's Coin Laundry in Sylacauga and Auto Clinic.

He is survived by son, John D. Harrington of Vandiver; daughter-in-law, Christy Harrington; son, Edwin Scott Harrington of Greene, Maine; daughter-in-law, Lisa Harrington; daughter, Paula Tyler of Sylacauga; son-in-law, Jeff Tyler; daughter, Genella Prestridge of Munford; son-in-law, Scott Prestridge; brothers, Ernest C. Harrington Jr. of Eastport, Maine, Wilfred Harrington of Bowdoin, Maine and Melvin Harrington of Topsham, Maine; sister, Sharon Jewett of Bowdoin, Maine; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Holmes, Virgil Hammonds, Arby Hammonds, Tony Sanders, Jerry Barnett and Jody Sims.

Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga will direct the service.

ROBERT LOUIS KILLIAN

SYLACAUGA Funeral service for Robert Louis Killian, 83, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church in Sylacauga with Father Jose Manjaly officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga.

Mr. Killian died Feb. 23 in Tuscaloosa. He was honorably discharged after serving in the United States Army and was an avid fisherman and gardener. He retired from Kimberly-Clark after some 30 years of service and was a Catholic by faith.

He is survived by his wife, Claire T. Killian of Sylacauga; sons, Phil Killian and Jeff Killian of Millbrook and Michael Killian of Eufaula; daughters, Donna Nunnelly of Three Rivers, Texas, Barbara Lafond of Rincon, Ga., and Julie K. Smith of Sylacauga; sisters, Marie Van Elsen of Kaukauna, Wisc., Rita Wagner of Bellview, Fla., and Jean Hermsen of Thorpe, Wisc.; brother, Paul Killian of Kaukauna, Wisc.; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church, 310 West Bay St., Sylacauga, Ala., 35150.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Rosary service will begin at 8 p.m.

Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga will direct the service.
