BETTIE B. VAN WAGNER

PELL CITY Funeral service for Bettie B. Van Wagner, 96, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg chapel with the Rev. Donnie Blackmon officiating. Burial will be in Spring Creek Cemetery in Shelby.

Mrs. Van Wagner died April 4 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Abe Van Wagner and three children, Margaret Peoples, Leonard Van Wagner and Carl Van Wagner.

She is survived by daughters, Eleanor Glass of Pell City, Annie Faye Robertson of Jemison and Betty Johnston of Sycamore; sons, Edmond Van Wagner of Hollins and James Van Wagner of Horton; 29 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Millwood, Roger Van Wagner, James Van Wagner Jr., Danny Wayne Robertson, Grover Charles Peoples and Brandon Gray.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel will direct the service.

FAYE WALKER

Mrs. Faye Walker, 63, of Lynn Haven, Fla., passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2004 at her residence.

Mrs. Walker moved here 24 years ago from Dothan, Ala. She was owner and operator of Badcock Furniture Store. Mrs. Walker was a member of Northside Baptist Church and was a Sunday school teacher for over 40 years with the last five at Northside Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby L. Walker of Lynn Haven, Fla.; son, Todd Walker and wife Kaye of Montgomery; daughter, Sonja Reinhardt and husband Jimmy of Lynn Haven, Fla.; two brothers, Larry Barber and wife Joye of Anniston and Wayne Barber and wife Sherry of Talladega; and three grandchildren, Chelcee Reinhardt, Zach Walker and Trent Walker.

Funeral service for Mrs. Walker will be conducted on Wednesday, April 7, at 2 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church with Brother Jerry Moore officiating. Eulogy provided by Eddie Hart. Interment will follow in Lynn Haven Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jon Sansom, Shannon Collins, Joe Whidden, Jerry Hoffman, Tony Hall and Stan Enfinger.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Barber, Clark Patterson, Norman Cain, Steve Crook, Dennis Deloach, Schonon Fennell, Bobby Barber, Casey Walker, Ashley Walker and Roger Dunning.

Southerland Family Funeral Home in Lynn Haven, Fla., will direct the service.

CLOIS M. WATSON

BRIDGEPORT Graveside service for Clois M. Watson, 87, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Forestlawn Gardens.

Mrs. Watson died April 4 in Bridgeport. She was a native of Anniston and lived most of her life in Pell City. She was a member of St. Simon Peter Episcopal Church in Pell City and was preceded in death by her husband, Lester E. Watson.

She is survived by daughter, Linda Hardy of Mentone; son, Lester Alan Watson of Pell City; sister, Sara Bible of Birmingham; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. before the service at the funeral home.

Brown & Kughn Memory Chapel in Anniston will direct the service.

JAKE YOUNG JR.

ALEXANDER CITY Jake Young Jr. died April 4 at Russell Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Wright's Funeral Home.

SARAH J. GAMBLE

STEWARTVILLE Funeral service for Sarah J. Gamble will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest Oden officiating. Burial will be in Union Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Gamble died April 2 at Coosa Valley BMC. She was a native of Talladega County and was a member of Union Baptist Church. She was a member of the Golden Keys Senior Citizens Group and was preceded in death by her husband, Alfonzo Gamble.

She is survived by stepdaughters, Connie Cook and Brenda Darby of Sylacauga; adopted daughter, Cynthia S. Threatt; five grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Grandchildren and nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Madden's Funeral Service will direct the service.

LOUISE E. BEASON

PELL CITY Graveside service for Louise E. Beason, 87, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in Jefferson Memorial in Trussville with the Rev. Mark Parris officiating.

Mrs. Beason died April 5.

She is survived by daughter, Rita Miller; grandchildren, Jimmy Miller, Kevin Miller and Karen Sawyer; and great-grandchildren, Hayden, Evan and Kathryn Sawyer.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

CHRISTOPHER MICHAEL GREGG

PANAMA CITY, Fla. Funeral service for Christopher Michael Gregg, 30, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home chapel in Lineville with the Rev. Claude Bennett and the Rev. Billy East officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Lineville Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Gregg died April 3 from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. He was a native of Clay County and had lived in Florida since 1992. He was a graduate of Gulf Coast College. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Martin Gregg, and a cousin, (Sonny) William Bradley Kilgore.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Barbara and Barney Hunter of Ashland; father and stepmother, Mike and Diane Gregg of Panama City, Fla.; grandmother, Mary Gregg of Panama City, Fla.; brother, Joshua Gregg of New Site; and a cousin.

Pallbearers will be Vicky Miles, Randy Clubb, Rhonda Daughtery, Larry Pinckard, Ronald Daughtery and Billy Joe Kilgore.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30 until 8 p.m. Wednesday and until service time Thursday.

Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville will direct the service.

JAMES LESLIE HANVEY

EASTABOGA Funeral service for James Leslie Hanvey, 63, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Eastaboga Baptist Church with the Rev. Rodney Pritchett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Hanvey died April 6 at University Hospital in Birmingham. He was a native and lifelong resident of Eastaboga, was a lifetime member of Eastaboga Baptist Church and was retired from Anniston Army Depot.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Hanvey of Eastaboga; daughter, Michele Hanvey Stanley of Florida; sons, Leslie Lamar Hanvey of Florida and Michael Floyd Hanvey of Clarksville, Fla.; stepson, Chris Hughes of Eastaboga; stepdaughter, Kresha Hughes of Eastaboga; brother-in-law, Woodrow Hubbard of Talladega; and grandchildren, Steven and Kayland Stanley and Ron and Mathew Hanvey.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Chris Hughes, Ronnie Stanley, Jackie Smith, James Johnson, Mitch Amick and Grady Griffin.

Usrey Funeral Home will direct the service.

MILDRED HENDERSON

SYLACAUGA Graveside service for Mildred Henderson, 76, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Williams officiating.

Mrs. Henderson died April 6 at Brookwood Medical Center.

She is survived by sons, David Henderson of Sylacauga and Eugene Henderson of Birmingham; daughter, Ann Laros of Douglasville, Ga.; sisters, Lois Ricks and Ollie McCain of Sylacauga and Wynona Wilkins of Sycamore; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.

GERALDINE SEARS LEONARD

ALEXANDER CITY Memorial services for Geraldine Sears Leonard will be Thursday at 4 p.m. at Kingdom Hall in Alexander City and Saturday at 11 a.m. at Armour's Memorial Funeral Home in Alexander City.

Mrs. Leonard died April 5 at Russell Medical Center in Alexander City. She was born July 27, 1933, in Wetumpka. She was preceded in death by her mother, Minnie Shepard; and her foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Zeke and Carrie Sears.

She is survived by daughter, Deborah Joy Jeffrey of Brooklyn, N.Y.; sons, Michael and Anthony Leonard of Alexander City; brothers, Willie Ray Shepard and Shelley Lewis Shepard of Albany, N.Y.; sisters, Lizzie Mae Brady of Newark, N.J., and Etta Dean Smith of Albany, N.Y., and foster sister Rosie Lee Washington of Wetumpka; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Armour's Memorial Funeral Home in Alexander City will direct the service.

ELNORA MAXWELL

STEWARTVILLE Elnora Maxwell died April 3 at Baptist Medical Center Princeton in Birmingham.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Madden's Funeral Service.
