DAYSHA ABRAMS

CHILDERSBURG Daysha Abrams, 2, died April 19 at Coosa Valley BMC.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel.

ANNIE BELL CHRISTIAN

ANDERSON, Ind. Funeral service for Annie Bell (Huston) Christian, 90, will be Friday, April 23, at 2 p.m. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service in Anderson, Ind., with the Rev. William O'Neal officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.

Mrs. Christian died April 19 at Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center. She was a native of Talladega. She was a Anderson resident from 1942 to 1978, returning to Anderson in 1995 from Talladega. She was employed at St. John's Hospital as a nurses aide for 15 years and later helped run the Christian Floor Covering Business for 25 years before retiring in 1978. She was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church in Anderson. After retiring she moved to Talladega, returning to Anderson in 1995. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Josie Huston; five brothers, Anthony, J.D., Jewel, Henry Clay and Claude Huston; two sisters, Grace Groce and Lily Mae Gooden.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Zebedee Christian of Anderson, whom she married on Sept. 27, 1936, in Talladega; daughters, Mary C. Hall of Anderson and Clarice Blaylock of Fishers, Ind.; son, Zebedee Christian Jr. of Talladega; sister, Lois Huston of Talladega; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends for 2 hours before the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Foundation.

Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service will direct the service.

MAYOR CLAUDE F. DEAR JR.

ANNISTON Funeral service for Mayor Claude F. Dear Jr., 82, will be Wednesday, April 21, at 2 p.m. at Gray Brown Service chapel with the Rev. Ed Heptinstall officiating. Burial will be in Forestlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Dear died April 19 at his residence. He was a devoted World War II veteran, having served in the United States Army. He participated in the Normandy Invasion and The Battle of the Bulge and was the recipient of the Purple Heart Medal.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Frances Dear of Anniston; daughters, Iris Dear of Huntsville, Rita Moore and husband Reed of Talladega and Melynda Dear Martin and husband Richard of Oxford; sister, Pearl Dear Andress of Anniston; sister-in-law and caregiver, Ivy Dear and Marla Williams; grandchildren, Alan Smith and wife Leah, Chip Moore, Will Moore, Andrew Moore and Britni Martin; great-grandchild, Caleb Alan Smith; eight nieces; and nine nephews.

Pallbearers will be Alan Smith, Chip Moore, Will Moore, Andrew Moore, Keith Dear, Dan Howard and Mike Howard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Warren Sarrell, Dr. Charlie Williams, Bill Hayes, Dr. Donald Casey, Donnie Calhoun, Doug Ghee, Council Rudolph and Bob Fields.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alacare Hospice and Home Health Fund of Alabama, 4752 Highway 280 East, Birmingham, Ala., 35242 or a favorite charity.

Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory in Anniston will direct the service.

JAMES LAUDERDALE

GOODWATER James Lauderdale died April 20 at St. Vincent's Hospital.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Wright's Funeral Home.

CHRISTOPHER A. LLOYD

ANNISTON Christopher A. Lloyd, 60, died April 19.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Anniston Funeral Service.

JAMES MARTY LONG SR.

ASHVILLE Funeral service for James Marty Long Sr., 48, will be Thursday, April 22, at 11 a.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel in Pell City. Burial will be in St. Clair Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Long died April 19 in Gadsden.

He is survived by his wife, Agathe Long of Ashville; sons, James Marty Long Jr. of Texas and Jonathan Michael Long of Ashville; brothers, Charlie Long and Walter Long of Odenville and Hilton Long of Tennessee; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

MARY PERRY

SYLACAUGA Mary Perry, 61, died April 20 at Talladega Health Care Center.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Curtis and Son Funeral Home.

ELLISON J. SIMON

ANNISTON Ellison J. Simon, 59, died April 20.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Anniston Funeral Service.

JEAN FRANKLIN SUTTON

BIRMINGHAM Funeral service for Jean Franklin Sutton, 86, will be Thursday, April 22, at 11 a.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel in Talladega with the Rev. Ray Foreman and Father Michael Wrigley officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Sutton died April 20 at Baptist Medical Center Montclair. She was a native of Lincoln and lived most of her life in Glenside, Pa. She lived the last 12 years in Birmingham and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She was a veteran of World War II as a nurse in England. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Leo Sutton.

She is survived by sister, Betty Franklin Pitts of Mechanicsville, Md.; eight nieces; nine nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Donations may be made to a favorite charity.

Pallbearers will be Scott Dothard, David Walton, Chris Franklin, Allen Franklin, Nathan Davenport and Steve Forrest.

Usrey Funeral Home will direct the service.

JEFF TAYLOR

NACOGDOCHES, Texas Funeral service for Jeff Taylor, 33, will be Friday, April 23, at 11 a.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg chapel with the Rev. Mark Peoples officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Taylor died April 17 in Nacogdoches, Texas. He was born Nov. 24, 1970, in Birmingham to Charles and Lela Gates Taylor. He was a resident of Nacogdoches since November 2002. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lloyd Edward Taylor, Christopher Clark Taylor and Charles Warren Taylor.

He is survived by his wife, Buffy Taylor of Nacogdoches, Texas; son, Justin Taylor of Nacogdoches, Texas; daughters, Tina Taylor and Kala Taylor of Nacogdoches, Texas; his parents, Charles and Lela Taylor of Sylacauga; sister, Jean Taylor of Nacogdoches, Texas; brother-in-law, George Mizzell of Sylacauga; nieces and nephews, Morgan and Austin Mizzell of Sylacauga, Cass Taylor of Childesburg and Luke Taylor of Childersburg; mother-in-law and stepfather-in-law, J.C. and Janice Jacks of Sylacauga; and father-in-law and stepmother-in-law, George and Linda Mizzell of Dalton, Ga.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:30 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel will direct the service.

EULA BELL TUCK

ALEXANDER CITY Funeral service for Eula Bell Tuck, 67, will be Thursday, April 22, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Jennings officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Sinai Cemetery.

Mrs. Tuck died April 15.

She is survived by daughter, Eula Dianne Riggins of Talladega; sons, Tommy Thomas of Talladega, R.C. Darby and Jimmy Darby of Alexander City and Leonard Darby of West Point, Ga.; one aunt; and eight grandchildren.

Wright's Funeral Home will direct the service.

INEZ MYRTICE ADAMS WATTS

DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. Funeral service for Inez Myrtice Adams Watts, 70, of Knights Lane, will be Wednesday, April 21, at 4 p.m. at Pray's Mill Baptist Church in Douglasville with the Rev. Mike Everson officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Watts died April 19 at her residence. She was born Feb. 16, 1934, in Talladega. She was preceded in death by her parents, George C. Adams Sr. and Ida Moxley Adams. She was a member of Pray's Mill Baptist Church in Douglasville where she was an active member of the choir, the Women's Mission Union, and the nursery. She was retired from Inner Harbor where she worked as a housekeeping supervisor.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, James "Jim" Harold Watts of Douglasville; daughters, Beverly Watson of Douglasville, Becky Samples of Villa Rica and Michelle Watts of Douglasville; sons, Ricky Watts of Carrollton, Lynn Watts of Canton and Gary Watts of Lithia Springs; sister, Margaret Arrington of Ohatchee; brothers, George Adams of Boaz, Dan Adams of Ohatchee, Delmar Adams of Wadley, Roy Adams of Lincoln and Buddy Adams of Delta; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jim Watson, Adam Watts, Chad Samples, Tyler Watts, John Jackson and Travis McGinnis.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Watts to the Women Mission Union, Pray's Mill Baptist Church, 4979 Highway 5, Douglasville, Ga., 30135.

Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel will direct the service.

ANNISTON French L. "Pop" Williams, 84, died April 19.
