CEDREKO MAYO

ANNISTON Funeral service for Cedreko "Rico" Mayo, 27, of Anniston, will be Saturday, July 3, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Anniston with the Rev. Ronnie C. Beavers officiating. Burial will follow in Eden Hills Cemetery.

Mr. Mayo died June 25 at Druid City Hospital in Tuscaloosa. A lifelong resident of Alabama, he was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Breonte Young of Anniston; a brother, Andrew Mayo Jr. of Springfield, Ohio; his parents, Robert Whatley of Anniston and Sharon Ghoston Brown of Anniston; and grandmothers, Annie Ghoston of Anniston and Nancy Lee Whatley of Anniston.

Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends in church one hour before the service.

Anniston Funeral Service will direct the service.

MARIAN M. McNEELEY

SPRINGVILLE Funeral service for Marian M. McNeeley, 47, of Springville, will be Saturday, July 3, in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens Chapel in Trussville with the Rev. Stan Prewitt officiating.

Ms. McNeeley died June 29 at University Hospital in Birmingham. Her family would like to thank UAB Hospital staff for all their help.

She is survived by two daughters, Ellen McNeeley and Susan McNeeley; her parents, Marion "Hap" and Margaret McGillberry; her sister, Patricia Gabler; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m.

Jefferson Memorial of Trussville will direct the service.

MARIE RAY

ANNISTON Funeral service for Marie "Rea" Ray, 72, of Anniston, will be Saturday, July 3, at noon at Ervin Funeral Home chapel in Anniston with Brother Marvin Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Heflin City Cemetery.

Mrs. Ray died June 27 at Regional Medical Center in Anniston. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sims and Thelia Allen; three sisters, Julia Wright, Clonia Turner and Presilla Jones; and a brother, James Allen.

She is survived by four sons, Harold Allen Sr. and Harvery Wright of Anniston, Clarence Wright Sr. of Arkansas and Broderick D. Ray of Heflin; one daughter, Phyllis Suarez; three sisters, Annie Allen Moore of Florida, Sarah F. Heard of Oxford and Elizabeth Welch of Anniston; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Friends and family members will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Ervin Funeral Chapel will direct the service.

MARY FAYE ABERNATHY SMITH

ASHVILLE Funeral service for Mary Faye Abernathy Smith, 77, will be held Friday, July 2, at 11 a.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel.

Mrs. Smith died June 30. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas E. Abernathy, and a son, Benny Rinell Abernathy.

She is survived by her husband, Bolen Smith; a son, Larry E. Abernathy; a daughter, Mary Ellen Walker; a daughter-in-law, Helen Abernathy; a brother, J.L. Montgomery; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors Thursday from 5:30 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Kilgroe Funeral Home will direct the service.

DAISEY TRUSS

LINCOLN Funeral service for Daisey Truss, 88, of Lincoln, will be Saturday, July 3, at 1 p.m. at St. Mary's Baptist Church in Lincoln with the Rev. Everrett Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Mrs. Truss died June 27 at Baptist Medical Center Montclair in Birmingham. A lifelong resident of Alabama, she was a member of St. Mary's Baptist Church, where she was the Church Mother.

She is survived by two sons, the Rev. George Truss and the Rev. Michael Truss of Lincoln; six daughters, Lue Ella Smith of Lincoln, Georgia Bell of Lakeland, Fla., Elizabeth Tucker of Plant City, Fla., Gwendolyn Montgomery of Eastaboga, Molly Gaston and Arnice Pearson of Lincoln; 38 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandsons.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.

Anniston Funeral Service will direct the service.

ABBIE SUE PARNELL WOODARD

MUNFORD Funeral service for Abbie Sue Parnell Woodard of Munford will be Saturday, July 3, at 11 a.m. at Munford Baptist Church with the Rev. Ralph Jernigan and the Rev. Curtis Collette officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Memorial Park in Talladega.

Mrs. Woodard died July 1 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Munford, she was the retired principal of Ophelia S. Hill Elementary School in Munford and a member of Munford Baptist Church since 1942. She was active in the Women's Missionary Union, vacation Bible school and as a Sunday school teacher.

She is survived by her husband, Harold E. Woodard of Munford; a son, Wayne Woodard and wife Sue of Heflin; two daughters, Beverley Woodard Smith and husband John of Birmingham and Kathy Woodard Daniel and husband Joe of Munford; one sister, Mildred Parnell of Munford; three brothers, Herbert Parnell of Sylacauga, Hugh Parnell of Birmingham and Howard Parnell of Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Usrey Funeral Home will direct the service.

VIRGINIA McANNALLY PONDER

TALLADEGA Funeral service for Virginia McAnnally Ponder, 81, of Talladega, will be Monday at Usrey Chapel with the Rev. Bill Huffaker officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Memorial Park.

Mrs. Ponder died Thursday at her residence. A native of Jasper, she lived most of her life in Talladega. She was a member of Cragdale Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was in the choir.

She is survived by one daughter, Donna Lue Ponder of Pelham; one son, Terry Lynn Ponder of Tempe, Az.; two sisters, Lottie Ruth Fallin of Birmingham and Nellie Lucille Byars of Trafford; and two granddaughters.

Pallbearers will be Charles Ponder, Dwight Ponder, Horace Ponder, Jerry McAnnally and Merrell Ponder.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 4, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home.

Usrey Funeral Home will direct the service.

DYLAN CRAIG BARNETT

SYLACAUGA Funeral service for Dylan Craig Barnett, 2, of Sylacauga, will be Sunday, July 4, at Curtis and Son North Chapel. Burial will follow in Fayetteville Cemetery.

He is survived by his mother, Kimberly Burks of Sylacauga; his father, Daniel Barnett of Sylacauga; grandmothers, Joan Burks of Sylacauga and Karon Barnett; his great-grandmother, Sandra Barnett of Sylacauga; his great-grandfather, Bobby Barnett of Sylacauga; and several aunts and uncles.

Pallbearers will be Mark Bice, Darryl Meadows, Jeremy Skinner and Scott Wilson.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Curtis and Son North Chapel.

ALEXANDER CITY Mrs. Clemmie Benson of Alexander City died Friday, July 2 at Baptist Medical Center Montclair in Birmingham. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Wright's Funeral Home.

DELACY COLEMAN

ASHVILLE Memorial service for Delacy Coleman, 95, of Ashville, will be Saturday, July 10 at 11 a.m. at Ashville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Mr. Coleman died Thursday at his residence.

Usrey Funeral Home of Pell City will direct the service.

CHILDERSBURG Joann Gibson of Childersburg died Thursday at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham. Funeral arrangements are to be announced by Radney-Smith Funeral Home.

MARIE HAMILTON HUGHES

SYLACAUGA Funeral services for Marie Hamilton Hughes, 84, of the Fayetteville/Sylacauga area will be Saturday, July 3, at 11 a.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with the Rev. Greg Webb and the Rev. David Shafer officiating. Burial will be in the Talladega Springs Cemetery.

Mrs. Hughes died at her residence on June 30. She was a homemaker and attended West Side Church of God.

She was the last surviving child of Charlie and Ada Hamilton and she was preceded in death by a son, Jimmie A. Hughes; four brothers, William E. (Ed) Hamilton, Amos J. Hamilton, Ray (Hamp) Hamilton, Joseph Wesley (Bumper) Hamilton and John. F. (Doodle) Hamilton; and two sisters, Ethel Hamilton Mann and Minnie Hamilton White.

She is survived by her sons, Freddie Hughes (Patricia) of Fayetteville, Terry Owens (Linda) of Fayetteville and Jerry Owens (Rena) of Sylacauga; her grandchildren, Scot Hughes, Brian Hughes (Leslie), Sharon Hughes, Colton Owens, Jerit Owens, Sherry Lynn Garza and Chase Owens; and her beloved great-granddaughters, Haydn and Graysn Hughes.

She was also the beloved aunt to a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be her nephews, Bill Hamilton, Tommy Hamilton, Mack Hamilton, Charles (Buddy) Hamilton, James Hamilton and Morgan Hamilton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Hamilton and Horace (Junior) Hamilton.

Radney-Smith Funeral Home is Sylacauga will direct the service.

PELL CITY--Lynn Ridgeway, 81, of Pell City, died Friday at St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Rest In Peace Funeral Service.

ABBIE SUE PARNELL WOODARD
