LEON BLOISE BUTLER

CHILDERSBURG Funeral service for Leon Bloise (Pop) Butler, 75, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacauga with the Rev. E.B. Ledlow and the Rev. Donnie Blackmon officiating. Burial will be in Fayetteville Methodist Cemetery.

Mr. Butler died April 11 at Coosa Valley BMC. He was married for 45 years, was a member of Union Springs Baptist Church and was a veteran of World War II. He loved to hunt and fish. He was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John Butler Jr. and Gerald Butler.

He is survived by his wife, Frances C. Butler of Childersburg; one son, John B. Butler of Childersburg; four daughters, Carolyn Duncan of Childersburg, Betty Lackey and Donna Parr of Alpine and Jean Harbuck of Georgia; two brothers, James Willard Butler of Talladega and Ronald Butler of Georgia; four sisters, Dorothy Baker and Sarah Guy of Childersburg, Geneva Hill of Sylacauga and Christine Nelson of Vincent; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Adam LimbaughHonorary pallbearers will be Kevin Harris and Robert Harris.

Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga will direct the service.

ANNIE LAURA HALL CURRY

TALLADEGA Funeral service for Annie Laura Hall Curry, 71, of 3600 Eastaboga Road, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Union Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Samuel Turner and Minister Jasper Curry officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Curry died April 6 at her residence. She graduated from Jenifer High School, attended Alabama State University and was a substitute teacher in the Talladega County School System. She was employed at several dry cleaning businesses, Bemis Bag Company and Olsten Health Services. She was a member of Union Springs Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, was a member of the Usher Board, Concerned Citizens Youth Scholarship Program, the Union Springs C.R.D. Organization and the Cheerful Givers Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Curry; her parents, William D. Hall and Deliah McGhee Hall; and a son, George Edward Curry.

She is survived by daughters, Audrey Swain and Renee' Jacobs of Talladega and Carolyn Jemison and Glenda White of Decatur, Ga.; sons, Minister Jasper Curry of Huntsville and Tracy Curry of Snellville, Ga.; sisters, Roberta Simmons and Deliah Curry of Talladega, Rosa Austin of Kingstree, S.C., and Minda Morris of Toledo, Ohio; and 18 grandchildren.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Members of the Usher Board will serve as flowerbearers.

Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the service.

EULA GREATHOUSE

DADEVILLE Memorial service for Eula Greathouse will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness, 851 Horseshoe Bend Road, in Dadeville.

Ms. Greathouse died April 10 at Adam's Nursing Home. She was born Feb. 20, 1912, in Tallapoosa County to Elsie Pearson Greathouse and Tommy Lee Greathouse.

She is survived by one sister, Ila Turman of Waverly; one brother, Leatrice Greathouse of Jackson's Gap; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Armour's Memorial Funeral Home in Alexander City will direct the service.

ELIZABETH ANNE WALKER HALL

PELL CITY Memorial service for Elizabeth Anne Walker Hall, 45, will be Thursday at noon at Chapel Hill Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. Tony Layton officiating.

Mrs. Hall died April 9 at her residence.

She is survived by one daughter, Tina Elizabeth Appling of Mobile; two sons, Robert Wayne Hall and Rodney Eugene Keith Jr. of Mobile; two sisters, Dyian Sloan of Ashville and Gloria E. Layton of Ragland; four brothers, Wayne Walker of Pell City; Stanley Lamar (Chico) Walker of Eight Mile, Paul Douglas Walker of Sims and Eoy Walker of Seattle, Wash., and five grandchildren.

Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

FAITH HENDERSON

PELL CITY Faith Henderson died April 10.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City.

EFFIE MAE LEE

ROCKFORD Funeral service for Effie Mae Lee, 67, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Rockford with the Rev. Stanford Benson officiating. Burial will be in Rockford Cemetery.

Mrs. Lee died April 7 at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery.

She is survived by four daughters, Shirley Little of Chicago, Ill., Margie Lee, Thelma Hill and Cynthia Lee of Rockford; two sons, Donald Lee and Stanley Lee of Rockford; four sisters, Minnie Alkins and Gloria Thomas of Dallas, Texas, Barbara Edmunds of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Sandra Thomas of Goodwater; five brothers, Webster Thomas Jr. of Kellyton, Michael Thomas of Chattanooga, Tenn., Billy Thomas of Dallas, Texas, Johnny Thomas of Kaufman, Texas, and Benny Thomas of Nixburg; 19 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Wright's Funeral Home will direct the service.

PELL CITY John H. Mills Sr. died April 11.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City.

KATHRYN PARKS MOSES

MOODY Graveside service for Kathryn Parks Moses, 86, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Pine Hill Memorial Park in Talladega.

Mrs. Moses died April 11. She was formerly of Talladega.

She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Norton; one son, Michael Moses; sisters, Margaret Rozelle, Virginia Woodruff and Paddy Collins; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds will direct the service.

MARY LOU NORRIS

SYLACAUGA Funeral service for Mary Lou Norris will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at True Light Community Church in Sylacauga with the Rev. Erastus Godfrey officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga.

Mrs. Norris died April 6 at her residence. She was born March 7, 1914, in Dadeville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Gaither Hines Stone, and her husband, Obie D. Norris. She confessed Christ at an early age and later in life joined Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Sylacauga.

She is survived by daughters, Annie R. Bell of Lancaster, Calif., Mary Ellen Norris of Sylacauga, Jean Norris of Opelousas, La., Nancy Norris and Mary Ellen Norris of Sylacauga, Nancy J. Norris and Glenda Norris of Baton Rouge, La.; three sisters, Lurleen Stone and Louise Wilson of Alexander City and Mary Powell of Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, Jessie L. Stone and Raymond Stone of Sylacauga; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Brent Traylor, Ronald D. Carter, Orlando Norris, Kendrick Norris, Anthony Norris, Omar Stamps, Fred Borden, Robert Wilson, Charles Oden, Larry Stone and Keith Norris.

Friends of the family will serve as flowerbearers.

Community Funeral Home will direct the service.

IRENE STRONG

DETROIT, Mich. Irene Strong, 79, died April 10.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Madden's Funeral Home.

ELBERT T. WALLACE

LINCOLN Funeral service for Elbert T. Wallace, 70, will be Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home chapel in Jasper. Burial will be in Odom Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Wallace died April 10 at Baptist Medical Center Montclair in Birmingham. He had lived in Lincoln for the past 28 years, and grew up in Birmingham. He attended Birmingham School of Law.

Mr. Wallace was retired executive director of Medical Laboratories and Cunningham Pathology, and served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Wallace of Lincoln; one daughter, Wanda Batson and husband Marty Batson of Sylacauga; one son, Tommy Wallace and wife Anna Wallace of Sylacauga; and two grandchildren, Stacie Wallace and Josh Batson of Sylacauga.

The family will receive visitors Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Collins-Burke Funeral Home will direct the service.
