JO ANN BOWLIN

TALLADEGA Funeral service for Jo Ann Bowlin, 68, will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Midway Memory Gardens with Brother Harvey Bowlin Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Midway Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Bowlin died Nov. 29 at her residence. A native of Calhoun, Ga., she had lived in Birmingham for more than 20 years and had been a resident of Talladega for three years. She was a member of Trinity Lighthouse Church of God. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Catherine Abney.

She is survived by her husband, James C. Bowlin of Talladega; one daughter, Suzan Renee Lantrop of Birmingham; one son, James Daniel Bowlin of Hoover; two brothers, Bobby Gordon of Dallas, Ga., and James Ray Gordon of Charleston, S.C.; five grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be James Gordon, Devin Gordon, Mike Bowlin, Harvey Bowlin Jr., Kim Cosby and Jeff Roberts.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Midway Memory Gardens Funeral Home will direct the service.

BRAIN JAMES BREWSTER

PELL CITY Graveside service for Brian James Brewster, 25, will be Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in St. Clair Memorial Gardens with the Rev. William McCoy officiating.

Mr. Brewster died Nov. 29. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lawana Barber.

He is survived by his mother, Linn Barber Davis of Pell City; his father, Danny Joe Brewster of Alexander City; grandparents, Bobby and Shirley Barber of Pell City and Mr. and Mrs. John Brewster of Alexander City; aunts, Cindy Barber and Jennifer Green of Pell City.

Pallbearers will be Cody Green, Jesse Greene, Lynn Sargent, Jerry D. Phillips, Josh Phillips and Scott Greene.

Memorial donations may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.

Kilgroe Funeral Home will direct the service.

LORA GERMANY

ASHLAND Funeral service for Lora "Granny" Germany, 92, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. L.C. Harris officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Germany died Nov. 29 at her residence. She was a native of Oklahoma, but moved to Clay County in 1946. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlie Germany; and a son, Arwood Germany.

She is survived by one daughter, Myrtle Fuller of Ashland; a sister, Truly Clark of Springdale, Ark.; one brother, Olis Pribble of Drum, Idaho; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Greg Denney, Perry Browning, John Browning, Clayton Walker, Jimmie Allen and Roger Harris.

Benefield Funeral Home will direct the service.

JOHNNIE MAE SHEALEY

ALEXANDER CITY Funeral service for Johnnie Mae Shealey, 67, will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Elam Baptist Church with the Rev. John hard officiating. Burial will be in Elam Cemetery.

Mrs. Shealey died Nov. 26 at Russell Medical Center.

She is survived by her husband, John Shealey of Alexander City; five children, Rickey Shealey, Renee Jackson and Walter Shealey of Alexander City and John Shealey and Eric Shealey of Chicago; a sister, Mattie Mae Burton of Kentucky; a brother, Joe Marvin Pearson of Gadsden; nine grandchildren; one grandson; and a host of other relatives.

Wright's Funeral Home will direct the service.

MYRTLE L. SMITH

CHILDERSBURG Graveside service for Myrtle L. Smith, 81, will be Monday at 2 p.m. in Childersburg Cemetery with Brother Larry Hariston officiating.

Mrs. Smith died Nov. 30 at Coosa Valley BMC. She was a lifetime member of Harpersville Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James B. Smith.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Cliff of Childersburg and Krista Gardner and husband Jerry of Harpersville; two grandchildren, Tracy Cook of Sylacauga and Kelly Collard of Childersburg; four great-grandchildren, Cayla Cook and Cayce Cook of Sylacauga, Amber Tomasson and Angel Tomasson of Childersburg; and a sister, Ernestine Jordan of Eight Mile.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Sunday from 5 until 8 p.m.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel will direct the service.

BERTHA K. TURNER

ASHLAND Graveside service for Bertha K. Turner, 82, will be Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Earl Rollins officiating.

Mrs. Turner died Nov. 30 in Calhoun County. She was a former employee of Southland Manufacturing and was a Baptist by faith.

She is survived by a daughter, Sybil Lee of Eastaboga; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Terry Graham, Sonny Gortney, Joe Adams, Dale Gregg, Keith Powell and Danny Yates.

Benefield Funeral Home will direct the service.

LERA BLOCKER

MOODY Funeral service for Lera Blocker, 89, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel in Leeds. Burial will be in Forest Crest Cemetery.

Ms. Blocker died Dec. 1. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Moody and was a retired school teacher from Moody Elementary School with more than 30 years of service.

She is survived by two sisters, Rebecca Self and Esta Elliott; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds will direct the service.

REGENIA D. BOWEN

ALEXANDER CITY Funeral service for Regenia D. Bowen, 50, will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Radney's Funeral Home chapel in Alexander City with the Rev. Kenneth Neeley and Randy Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Hackneyville Cemetery.

Mrs. Bowen died Nov. 30 at her residence. She was born on Oct. 9, 1952, in Rock Mills to William Jep and Betty Lee David Brown. She worked in medical insurance billing at Lakeshore Community Hospital in Dadeville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Frankie Bowen; one son, Frankie Bowen II; and her parents.

She is survived by one son, Bradley Bowen of Alexander City; three daughters, Leigh Ann Piazza and Tonya Barrett of Sylacauga and Bridget Wilson of Millbrook; one brother, Larry Brown of Alexander City; and five grandchildren.

The family will accept flowers or contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1599 Clifton Road N.E., Atlanta, Ga., 30329 or to Children's Harbor, One Our Children's Highway, Alexander City, Ala., 35010.

THELMA BREWER CLIFTON

SYLACAUGA Funeral service for Thelma Brewer Clifton, 82, will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacauga with the Rev. Danny Bynum officiating.

Mrs. Clifton died Dec. 1 at Brittany Nursing Home in Franklin, N.C. She owned and operated Clifton's Store in Fayetteville and was a member of Fayetteville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Clifton.

She is survived by two sons, Danny Clifton of Otto, N.C., and Joey Clifton of Pleasant Grove; one daughter, Becky Culver of Sylacauga; two sisters, Vernell Brewer Jenkins of Sarasota, Fla., and Helen Brewer Vick of Birmingham; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

CLARA COOK

TALLADEGA Clara Cook, 58, of 87 Westgate Apartments, died Dec. 2 at her residence.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary.

CAROL MASK EASON

SYLACAUGA Funeral service for Carol Mask Eason, 56, will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacauga with the Rev. Jimmy Dale Abrams officiating. Burial will be in Hillview Cemetery in Alexander City.

Mrs. Eason died Dec. 1. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Alexander City and was preceded in death by her husband, Alonza J. Eason; her parents, James and Estin Mask; and a brother, Jerrell Mask.

She is survived by two sons, Barry G. Eason of Sylacauga and James T. (Tommy) Eason of Valley; two sisters, Mozell Speake and Margie Johns Dees of Alexander City; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
