Curtis Edward Glover

Funeral services for Curtis Edward Glover, 48, of Haleyville are at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003 at Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in Double Springs, with Burial in Winston Memorial Cemetery with full military honors.

Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Glover died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003 at Baptist Medical Center Princeton in Birmingham.

He was preceded in death by his father, Palmer Glover; and a brother, Wayne Glover.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Glover of Haleyville; his son, Dustin Glover of Haleyville; his daughter, Katurha Glover of Haleyville; his mother, Bertha Glover of Addison; two brothers, Gregory Glover and Gurtis Glover, both of Addison; and two sisters, Belinda White of Leoma, Tenn. and Elizabeth Glover of Addison.

Kristie Harper

Funeral services for Kristie Harper, 32, of Arley are at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, 2003 at Kilgore-Green Funral Home, Willard Pyles officiating, with Burial in Arley Baptist Church cemetery.

Kilgore-Green Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Harper died Saturday, Sept. 20 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. She was a member of the Arley Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Waid of Jasper; and her grandfather, Gay Fuller of Arley;

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Harper of Arley; two sons, Caleb and Colton Harper of Arley; her parents, Kenneth and Sandra Fuller of Arley; grandparents, Dennis and Jeanette Waid of Jasper; her grandmother, Irene Fuller; and her aunt and uncle, Buddy and Rita Whitten of Jasper.

Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Fred Craft

Funeral services for Fred Craft, 72, of Cullman are incomplete and will be announced at a later date by the funeral home.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Craft died Monday, Sept. 22. He was the president of Craft and Associates, Inc.

Willie Belle McAfee

Funeral services for Willie Belle McAfee, 99, of Logan will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003 at Logan United Methodist Church, Delbert Freeman and Jerrol Smith officiating, with Burial in Logan Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. McAfee died Sunday, Sept. 21 at Hanceville Nursing Home. She was born May 10, 1904 in Texas. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Logan United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, W.B. and Dona Colville Jobe; her husband, Price McAfee; three sons, Delone, Doyle and Vernon McAfee; six brothers, Avery, Alvin, Johnny, Grady, Jack and Oscar Jobe; her son-in-law, Millard Freeman; one grandson, Joe McAfee; and one great-grandson, David Todd York.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ellen (Paul) Jones of Crane Hill; a brother, Leo Jobe of Oklahoma; two sisters, Dorothy Kelly and Maye Estes of Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Striker, Brian Calvert, Steven McAfee, Harry McAfee, Caleb Freeman, Joshua Freeman, Jonathan Freeman and Scottie York.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Marie Knop

Funeral services for Marie Knop, 68, of Eva will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Milford Hayes officiating, with Burial in Oden Ridge Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Knop died Sunday, Sept. 21 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Nov. 1, 1934 in Atlanta, Ga. She was a retired legal secretary for Powell and Powell Attorneys.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude Tillman and Ruth McDaniel Byrd.

Survivors include her husband, Garless Frank Knop of Eva; a daughter, Lynn (Scott) Dotson of Eva; three brothers, Claude (Jane) Byrd Jr., Frankie (Gloria) Byrd and Larry (Melvina) White, all of Georgia; a sister, Betty (Steve) Wheeler of Georgia; and two grandchildren, John Franklin (Amanda) Loney and Gregg Michael Loney.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Benny Morgan

Funeral services for Benny Morgan, 67, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003 at Fairview Baptist Church in Addison, with Burial in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.

Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Morgan died Saturday, Sept. 20 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Morgan of Cullman; three sisters, Eloise Cantrell of Cullman, Alidean Stagg of Decatur and Joyce Thompson of Addison; and three brothers, Donald Morgan of Heflin, Billy Joe Morgan of Addison and Jimmy Morgan of Raburne.

Visitation was Monday.

Ruby Crutchfield Taylor

Funeral services for Ruby Crutchfield Taylor, 80, of Decatur will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003 at Ridouts Brown-Service Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Myron Mooney officiating, with Burial in Roselawn Cemetery.

Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Taylor died Sunday, Sept. 21 at Decatur Health and Rehab. She was born in Cullman on Nov. 8, 1922 to Charles Homer and Trannie Powell Crutchfield. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Milton Taylor; and a brother, Walter Crutchfield.

Survivors include seven sons, Woodrow Milton Taylor, Richard Curtis Taylor, Michael Buford Taylor, Wesley Stephen Taylor, all of Decatur, Charles Gorden Taylor of Helena, Gary Lee Taylor of Danville, and Donald Eugene Taylor of Canton, Mich.; four brothers, Doyle Crutchfield of Moody, Jack Crutchfield of Vinemont, Gene Crutchfield of Cullman and Thurston Crutchfield of Trinity; a sister, Ozelle Crutchfield Barker of Moody; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Monday.

Jacky Thomas Dossey

Funeral services for Jacky Thomas Dossey, 62, of Birmingham will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003 at St. Mark United Methodist Church, private Burial to follow.

Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Dossey died Saturday, Sept. 20. He was born Aug. 28, 1941.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Alene Teague Buettner; his father, William Clifton Dossey; and his sister, Beverly Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; four children, Mickey (Lisa) Dossey of Roswell, Ga., Tommy (Jana) Dossey, Mark Dossey and Angela Dossey, all of Birmingham; four grandchildren, Alex Dossey, Raschel Dossey, Eliscia Dossey and Sarah Dossey of Roswell, Ga.; and a brother, Donald (Joyce) Dossey of Cullman.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association, the American Lupus Foundation and St. Mark United Methodist Church.

Melva Gene Johnson

Funeral services for Melva Gene Johnson, 69, of Vinemont, are at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003 at Bethelehem West Baptist Church, the Revs. Tim Aris and Clenon Shedd officiating, with Burial in the church cemetery.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Johnson died Monday, Sept. 22 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham. She was born Oct. 27, 1933 in Lauderdale County to David and Hattie E. Newburn Conn. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Bonita Collum; and two brothers, Brent Conn and Harold Conn.

Survivors include her husband, James Wendell Johnson of Vinemont; her son, Gary (Regina) Johnson of Vinemont; four brothers, Hobert Conn, Hollis Conn, Louie Conn, all of Cullman, and Melvin Conn of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Orvaline Fullenwidner of Holly Pond; and five grandchildren, David Collum, Nicholas Johnson, Felicia Johnaon, Breanna Hastings and Melissa Sparks.

Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. today.

Fred Craft

Funeral services for Fred Craft, 72, of Cullman will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Jimmy Baker officiating, with Burial in Simcoe Baptist Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Craft died Monday, Sept. 22. He was born Nov. 23, 1930 in Cullman County. He was a general contractor. He attended Simcoe Baptist Church all of his life. He served as a deacon from Oct. 1962 until his death. He graduated from Fairview High School in 1949 and was discharged from the Air Force in 1954. He attended St. Bernard College for two years and transferred to Auburn University and graduated with the first graduating class from Auburn in 1957.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Robert and Pearl Lovvorn Craft; three brothers, Eugene, Earnie and Evon Craft; and three sisters, Helen Hudson, Vela Hendrix and Bobbie June Maddox.

Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Mangum Craft of Cullman; two sons, Fred Richard (Tina) Craft and Stephen Craft, both of Cullman; a daughter, Susan (Michael) Smith of Cullman; a sister, Glenis Screws of Florida; and four grandchildren, Sarah and Tyler Craft and Savannah and Colton Smith.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Simcoe Baptist Church building fund.

Pallbearers will be Van Garmon, Philip Preston, Steve Smith, Steve Moore, J.B. Marks, Truman Gable, Steve Farr and Brandon Humphreys.

Visitation was Tuesday.

Verdie Ella McAfee Wood

Funeral services for Verdie Ella McAfee Wood, 93, of Hanceville will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 2003 at Moss-Service Chapel, Timothy Davis and Dewey Briscoe officiating, with Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wood died Tuesday, Sept. 23 at Hanceville Nursing Home. She was born Aug. 4, 1910 to Robert L. and Annie Walker McAfee. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two grandsons; two brothers; and a sister.

Survivors include three daughters, Virginia (Windell) Lee and Bobbie (J.H. Jr.) McMinn, both of Altus, Okla., and Barbara Wood Powers of Cullman; two sons, Paul Sr. (Margaret) Wood of Logan and Roy Jr. (Gail) Wood of Cullman; a sister, Bertha Perdue of Hanceville; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Paul Wood Jr., Jamie Wood, Alan Wood, Chris Powers, Roy McMinn and Beau McMinn.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Charlie Richard Quick

Funeral services for Charlie Richard Quick, 72, of Hartselle will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Father Kevin McGrath officiating, with Burial in Hopewell Cemetery in Hanceville.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Quick died Tuesday, Sept. 23 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. He was born May 9, 1931 to Charlie and Lavina Chapman Quick. He was an electrical engineer with G.E. He worked with NASA while employed with G.E. on the Space Program, from the Mercury project all the way to the Sky Lab. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Leonore Marie Quick; and his parents.

Survivors include two sons, Jeff (Melissa) Quick and Michael (Chris) Quick; three daughters, Renee (Glen) Quick-Ratchford, Trina (Brian) McDonald and Jawanna (David) White; a brother, Clark (Florence) Quick; a sister, Nancy McCarron; four grandchildren, Jourdan, Emily, Charlie and Makenna; and special friend, Dorlene Daniel.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today with a rosary at 7:30 p.m.

John Douglas Greene

Funeral services for John Douglas Greene, 58, of Bremen will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003 at Hanceville Funeral Chapel, Tony Johnson officiating, with Burial in Burning Tree Cemetery.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Greene died Wednesday, Sept. 24 at University Hospital. He was born March 13, 1945 in Birmingham to James A. and Vivian L. Green. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Billie Greene of Bremen; two daughters, Kimberly (Mark) Finuf of Thomson, Ga. and Michelle (Jeff) Ryan of Falkville; a son, Ray G. Greene; a sister, Carolyn (Lem) Odom of Bessemer; and six grandchildren, Lauren Finuf, Lindsey Finuf, Jacob Greene, Rachel Greene, Callie Ryan and Rachel Ryan.

Visitation will be Saturday from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Clyde Annie Wilks

Funeral services for Clyde Annie Wilks, 87, of Cullman, formerly of the Hopewell community, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 2003 at Hopewell Baptist Church, Clenon Shedd and Greg Stone officiating, with Burial in the church cemetery.

Gober Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wilks died Wednesday, Sept. 24 at Marshall Medical Center North. She was born Feb. 28, 1916 to Rayford and Bulah Kelley Maze. She was a homemaker and a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Boyd Wilks.

Survivors include two daughters, Faye (Glen) Brown of the Hopewell community and Bonnie Sue (Larry) Farley of Cullman; a sister, Lera (Everett) Berry of Arab; a brother, Lemuel (Ruth) Maze of Blountsville; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
