Lera Lou White Williamson

Funeral services for Lera Lou White Williamson, 78, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Vernon Willis officiating, with Burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Williamson died Thursday, Nov. 6, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Dec. 21, 1924, in Randolph County. She and her husband, Ottis Williamson, were the original owners of Southern Cloth Center on Alabama Highway 157. She was retired for several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Udores and Nannie Lou Nix White; her husband; a sister, Pauline James; and a brother-in-law, Albert Aker.

Survivors include four brothers, Ray White, Rader (Carolyn) White, Hermitt (Janet) White and Aubrey (Carolyn) White; two sisters, Evelyn Akers and Mary Alice (Sherrell) Rhodes; a brother-in-law, Ralph James; seven aunts; and one uncle.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

K.L. Clay

Funeral arrangements for K.L. Clay, 77, of Cullman are incomplete and will be announced at a later date by the funeral home.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Clay died Wednesday, Nov. 5.

Odes B. Thornton

Funeral services for Odes B. Thornton, 75, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2003, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, the Rev. Michael Banks officiating, with Burial in New Mt. Zion Cemetery at Crane Hill.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Thornton died Tuesday, Nov. 4, in Hanceville. He was born Oct. 23, 1928, in Alabama to Edward Daniel and Maudie Waldrep Thornton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce (Robert) Duke of Hanceville; two sons, Michael (Barbara) Thornton of Welti and Rickey (Therisa) Thornton of Hanceville; three sisters, Dessie Barnes of Nashville, Tenn., Elsie Holland of Huntsville and Flora Ragsdale of Crane Hill; 26 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Thursday.

Evertt Collins Pruitt

Funeral services for Evertt Collins Pruitt, 94, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at Sardis No. 2 Baptist Church, Lynn Perkins officiating, with Burial in Sardis No. 2 Cemetery. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Pruitt died Tuesday, Nov. 4, at Woodland Medical Center. He was born March 20, 1909, in Cullman County to Jay Edward and Evie Pruitt. He was an iron worker.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Pansy Lois Pruitt.

Survivors include a son, Louis Pruitt of Ottsville, Pa.; a daughter, Gwen Monk of Cullman; seven grandchildren, Riima Pruitt and Louis Pruitt Jr., both of New York City, N.Y., Myra Sanderson of Huntsville, Tom Monk of Daphne, Rebecca Swenney of Santa Clarita, Calif., Karen Monk and Crissy Askea, both of Cullman; and five great-grandchildren, Sam Sanderson, Ben Sanderson, Eric Askea, Preston Monk and Rachael Monk.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Berlin Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.

Floyd Monroe Brown

Graveside services for Floyd Monroe Brown, 78, of Calera will be at 11 a.m. in Shelby Memory Gardens, Keith Brown officiating.

Charter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Brown died Wednesday, Nov. 5. He was born in Georgia on March 4, 1925, to Reuben and Nellie Evies McCullars Brown. He owned Brown Auto Parts in Calera. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Ruey Marie Brown; three sons, Ronald Wayne (Ann) Brown of Pinson, Donald Warren (Mollie) Brown and Johnny Lowell (Gina) Brown, both of Calera; seven grandchildren, Kim and Phillip Brown of Pinson, J.R. (Amber) Brown, Jessica, Hollie and John Brown, all of Calera, and Sarah (Mike) Robinson of Jemison; and a sister, Mary (Clifford) Gibbs of Cullman.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Laura Anne McMinn Moran

Memorial services for Laura Anne McMinn Moran, 42, of Trangie, New South Wales, Australia will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, at Christ The King Lutheran Church in Mississippi, the Rev. Susan Springer officiating.

Lee Memorial Funeral Home of Verona, Miss. is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Moran died Saturday, Nov. 1, at her residence. She was born April 27, 1961, in Cullman To Ted and Linda Collins McMinn. She was also a resident of Mooreville before moving to Australia in March 2003. She graduated from Mooreville High School and from the nursing program at ICC. She attended Christ The King Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Beth LeAnne McMinn, in 1979; and her grandparents, T.D. and Ovell McMinn and Clifford Mac Collins.

Survivors include her husband, Ian Moran of Trangie; her parents; three children, Jesse Ray Thomas, Elizabeth LeAnne Thomas, both of Australia and Joshua Omar Morgan, originally of Mooreville, currently with the U.S. Navy at Groton Naval Base in Groton, Conn.; a brother, David (Christi) McMinn of Cullman; her grandmother, Agnes Collins of Cullman; a niece, Sarah McMinn; and a nephew, David McMinn.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Laura Anne Moran's Childrens Fund, c/o Bancorp South Trust Dept., P.O. Box 789, Tupelo, Miss. 38802.

Maxville 'Mac' McCune

Funeral services for Maxville "Mac" McCune, 75, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Steve Rodgers officiating, with Burial in Hopewell Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McCune died Thursday, Nov. 6, at Woodland Village Health Care Center. He was born Oct. 7, 1928, in Limestone County to Dan and Eula Bell Raney McCune.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, David McCune; and a sister, Hazel Young.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Brummett McCune of Cullman; a daughter, Annette (Ron) Grace of Arley; a stepdaughter, Ginger (Dwight) Edwards of Cullman; a sister, Joyce (John) Gay of Clanton; and two grandchildren, Chris Lindsey and Jenna Edwards.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lillie Mae Kyle

Funeral services for Lillie Mae Kyle, 84, of Cullman will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Albert Dean Estes officiating, with Burial in Etha Baptist Church Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Kyle died Thursday, Nov. 6, at Cullman Long Term Care. She was born June 18, 1919, in Morgan County to William and Sara Frances Kyle Owens. She was a retired processor for Golden Rod and a member of Daniels Chapel Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Edgar Kyle; five brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include a son, James Edward (Margie) Moore of Ohio; two daughters, Wilma (Ray) Barbee and Brenda (Don) Barbee of Cullman; a sister, Eula Bryant of Horton; six grandchildren, Delores Conrady, James Moore Jr., Stanley Murcks, Anthony Murcks, Tina Bell and Crystal Henderson; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

K.L. Clay

Funeral services for K.L. Clay, 77, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Mason Harris and Mike Water officiating, with Burial in Prospect Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Clay died Wednesday, Nov. 5, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born May 14, 1926, in Golden, Miss. to Kiah L. and Elanor Ferguson Clay. He was a mill recorder for U.S. Steel. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandchild, Whitney Moody; a great-grandchild, Lilly Moddy; two brothers, James and Billy Clay; and a sister, Judy Harbinson.

Survivors include his wife, Mavis Smith Clay of Cullman; three sons, Garry (Carol) Clay of Jacksonville, Fla., Reggie (Patsy) Clay of Warrior and Keith (Richann) Clay of Cullman; a daughter, Debbie (Jerry) Moody of Blountsville; two brothers, Charles and Donald Clay; five sisters, Margaret Pittman, Jacqlyn Willoughby, Rose Lott, Delores Crider and Linda Crider; eight grandchildren, Brad Clay, Dana Fendley, Johnny Moody, Jim Clay, Scott Clay, Magen Clay, Caleb Clay and Tanner Clay; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

Visitation was Friday.

Sylvester Albert Pirkle

Funeral services for Sylvester Albert Pirkle, 86, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at Williams-McCracken Chapel, Hubert Thompson and Victor Quick officiating, with Burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Pirkle died Thursday, Nov. 6, at his residence. He was born March 2, 1917, in Winston County to Allen and Maggie Daniel Pirkle. He was a school bus driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Burdette Pirkle of Cullman; a daughter, Vivian Estes of Cullman; and a granddaughter, Gwen Carver of Garden City, Mo.

Visitation was Friday.

Joy Lynch

Funeral services for Joy Lynch, 52, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, at Moss-Service Chapel, the Rev. Bobby Lynch officiating, with Burial in Cullman Memory Gardens.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lynch died Friday, Nov. 7, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Dec. 25, 1951. She was a homemaker and a member of Living Faith Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Teichmiller.

Survivors include her husband, Legran Lynch of Cullman; two sons, Richard (Layla) Lynch of Decatur and Randy (Kelley) Lynch of Cullman; her mother, Nellie Joyce Downs; two sisters, Connie (Bobby) Miller of Cullman and Barbara Brown of Cullman; three grandchildren, Morgan Wood, Hannah Lynch and Kaiti Lynch; 16 nieces; and six nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Richard C. Burleson

Funeral services for Richard C. Burleson of Cullman, formerly of Pleasant Grove, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, at Brown Service West Chapel, with Burial in Forest Grove Cemetery.

Brown Service West Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Burleson died Thursday, Nov. 6. He was a longtime employee of SE Bolt and Screw Company in Birmingham, a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church and a member of the Chancel Choir at the church.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth W. Burleson; a daughter, Patti (Jeff) McCombs; a son, Ricky (Vicki) Burleson; three grandchildren, Kailee Elizabeth McCombs, Carter Lawson Burleson and Reid Crawford Burleson; a sister, Dolores B. (Moe) Parris of Douglasville, Ga.; a brother, Bobby (Dot) Burleson of Elba; and special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Wendy Womble of Stuart, Fla.

Memorials may be made to St. Andrew's United Methodist Church building fund, Attn: Financial Advisor, 615 Main Ave. SW, Cullman, Ala. 35055 or Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church general fund, 452 9th Ave., Pleasant Grove, Ala. 35127.

Pallbearers will be Paul Bussman, H.G. Shoemaker, Gene Thrailkill, Leonard Collier, Ron Pridmore and Max Kirkpatrick.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Shelton's Sunday School class.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mary Higgins

Graveside services for Mary Higgins, 62, are at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2003, Vernon Willis officiating, with Burial in Emeus Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Higgins died Friday, Nov. 7 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Sept. 10, 1941 in Jefferson County to Edward Leroy and Virginia Bennett Sharpe.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Willie "Bud" Sharpe; and her best friend, Challie Gutherie.

Survivors include her nephew, Craig Schmale of Cullman and her best friend, Donna Schmale of Cullman.

Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
