Anita K. White

Funeral services for Anita K. White of Decatur will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at Elkins Funeral Chapel, Burl Oliver officiating.

Elkins Funeral Home of Florence is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. White died Nov. 20. She was born in Decatur in 1962. She received a graphic art degree from Calhoun Community College and an occupational therapy assistant degree from Wallace State College. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She was employed as an occupational therapy assistant with the Colbert County School System.

Survivors include her husband, Anthony R. White of Florence; a son, Alexander S. White of Florence; her parents, Thomas L. and Kathrine Knox King of Decatur; and a brother, Thomas L. King Jr. of Florence.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hope Place Lodge in Birmingham or Hospice of the Shoals.

Visitation will follow the service.

Zebra Gay Mason

Graveside services for Zebra Gay Mason, 45, of Gainesville, Fla. will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, in Keystone Cemetery in Florida, Steve Melton officiating.

Jones Funeral Home, Keystone Heights, Fla. is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mason died Thursday, Nov. 20, at E.T. York Care Center in Gainesville, Fla. She was born in Healdsburg, Calif. on Oct. 28, 1958. She moved to Gainesville a year ago from Keystone Heights where she lived for several years. She was of the Protestant faith, a truck driver, a singer and a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, William P. Mason of Gainesville, Fla.; a daughter, Stacy Rodriguez of Corpus Christi, Texas; three sons, Stephen Self of Alabama, James Artie Ponton of Newport News, Va. and Zakri Chase Ponton of Gainesville, Fla.; four sisters, Susan D'Andrea, Karen Barfoot, Gina Barfoot and Julie Burkes, all of Alabama; a brother, Thomas Barfoot II of Alabama; her mother, Virginia Franklin of Alabama; and two grandchildren.

Bobbie D. Adams

Funeral services for Bobbie D. Adams, 73, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Jimmy Baker officiating, with Burial in Simcoe Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Adams died Friday, Nov. 21, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born July 3, 1930, in Cullman County to John Andrew and Berta Farmer Abney. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Carl Abney; and sister, Ruby Payne.

Survivors include her husband, Ray Adams; two sons, Scott Adams and Brett Adams, both of Cullman; brother, James Abney of North Carolina; sister, Mazelle Echols of Cullman; two grandchildren, John Baylor Adams and Parker Dean Adams; and six nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Norma McKenzie Strong

Funeral services for Norma McKenzie Strong, 76, of Eva, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Clenon Shedd and Jim Butts officiating, with Burial in the adjoining cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour before the service.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Strong died Friday, Nov. 21, at Woodland Medical Center. She was born March 9, 1927, in Cullman County to James Frank and Lena Fomby McKenzie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard E. Strong; daughter, Earnestine Strong; brother, Paul DeMonia; and three sisters, Helen Pitts, Theda Brown and Leona Cornelius.

Survivors include her son, Benny Strong of Cullman; two daughters, Jan (Bob) Moody of Cullman and Anita (Danny) Holmes of Eva; five grandchildren, Staff Sgt. Terry Holmes, Michael Holmes, Kristy Holmes, Shannon Moody and Mark Strong; and three great-grandchildren, Jon Holmes, Savannah Holmes and Michaela Holmes.

Visitation was Saturday.

Austin Ray Weaver

Funeral services for Austin Ray Weaver, 76, of Cullman, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Melwin Cordes and Max Hagood Officiating, with Burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Weaver died Friday, Nov. 21, at his residence. He was born Nov. 16, 1927, in Cullman County, to Hayden and Katie Denson Weaver. He was a member of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. He was retired from Sunbeam Bread Co. after 33 years as a route salesman.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bernice Weaver.

Survivors include his wife, Earnestine Billings Weaver; five sons, Joe (Nancy) Robertson of Athens, Ron (Kathy) Robertson and Don Robertson, both of Cullman; Valice (Patti) Robertson of Blountsville and Wilburn (Carol) Weaver of Priceville; two daughters, Johness (Melvin) Phillips of Athens and Evelyn Weaver of Cullman; sister, Ressie Whaley of Cullman; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Saturday.

David Keith Lawrence

Graveside services for David Keith Lawrence, 34, of Cullman, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lawrence died Friday, Nov. 21, at his residence. He was born May 1, 1969, to Douglas and Lassie Mae Pope Lawrence. He was a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Bobby Clayborn and Harold Clayborn; and his grandparents, Auby and Mila Lawrence, Hulda Carnes and Jimmy Pope.

Survivors include his son, David Allen Lawrence of Cullman; three sisters, Elizabeth Dianne Davis of Cullman, Patricia Ann Clayborn of Ohio and Wanda Lee Clayborn of Michigan; mother; six brothers, Michael Clayborn of Cullman; Kenneth Clayborn, Stanley Clayborn and James Edward Clayborn, all of Ohio; and Ricky Clayborn and Roger Clayborn, both of Michigan; and one nephew.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. today at the funeral home.

Elsie Marie Robison

Elsie Marie Robison, 89, of Vinemont, died Saturday, Nov. 22, at her residence. She was born May 9, 1914. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Moss-Service Funeral Home.

Rev. M.G. 'Pete' Peterson

Funeral services for the Rev. M.G. "Pete" Peterson, 80, of Simcoe will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at Hanceville Funeral Home, the Revs. Mike Murphree and Wendell Peterson officiating, with Burial in Center Hill Cemetery.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The Rev. Peterson died Sunday, Nov. 23 at his residence. He was born in Cullman on April 5, 1923 to George and Ida Phillips Peterson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include three daughters, Norma (Rickey) Fowler of Dawson, Brenda Peterson and Dianne Peterson, both of Cullman; a son, Wendell (Patricia) Peterson of Baileyton; seven grandchildren, Amanda and Matt Peterson of Baileyton, Kim and Mitch Price of Auburn, Brandon Hendrix of Cullman, and Michael Fowler and Heather Fowler, both of Dawson; and a niece, Dean Pace of Hanceville.

Visitation was Monday.

Elsie Marie Coppock Robison

Funeral services for Elsie Marie Coppock Robison, 89, of Vinemont will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at Moss-Service Chapel, the Rev. Randy Makemson officiating, with Burial in Vinemont Baptist Church Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Robison died Saturday, Nov. 22 at her residence. She was born June 9, 1914 to James and Willie Jackson Coppock. She was a homemaker. She loved gardening and making jellies. She was a life-long resident of Vinemont and a member of Faith Baptist Church in Vinemont.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James N. Robison; two brothers, Leroy and Kenneth Coppock; a daughter-in-law, Kay Burns Robison; a grandchild, Stacy Marie Rutherford; and a great-grandchild, Christopher James Reece.

Survivors include three sons, James Everett Robison of Vinemont, H. Glenn (Glenda) Robison of Decatur and G. Dewey Robison of Cullman; three daughters, Karen (Bob) Speegle of Bremen, Carren (Brent) Reece of Rockwall, Texas and Charlotte (Michael) Rutherford of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; three brothers, Roscoe Coppock of Oneonta, Dwight Coppock of Knoxville, Tenn. and Charles Coppock of Pensacola, Fla.; a sister, Mary Coppock Kent of Cullman; 10 grandchildren, Dr. Keith (Gigi) Robison of Tullahoma, Tenn., Bentley Robison of Union Grove, Susan (Gerry) Moses of Moulton, Pam (Greg) Garland of Decatur, Michael (Kathryn) Holmes of Vinemont, David (Kristina) Reece and Randall Reece of Dallas Texas, Todd (Amanda) Rutherford of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Megan Rutherford of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., Amy (Jéan) Seabolt of Calhoun, Ga.; and 12 great-grandchildren, Katie Robison and Bonnie Robison of Tullahoma, Tenn., Allie and Phillip Garland of Decatur, Rachael, Caleb and Rebekah Moses of Moulton, Faith and Kristen Rutherford of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Jacob and Nathan Reece of Dallas, Texas and Noah Holmes of Vinemont.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Robison's grandsons.

Asa Preston Brandon

Funeral services for Asa Preston Brandon, 92, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at Moss-Service Chapel, Charles Ervin officiating, with Burial in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Brandon died Saturday, Nov. 22 at Cullman Health Care Center. He was born July 2, 1911 to Buford Wilhite and Ollie Preston Brandon. Mr. Brandon was in the 11th grade at Cullman High School when his father died. Forced to quit school and give up plans to be a doctor, he began to manage the family farm. In 1952 he stopped farming and became a carpenter until he retired. At age 20, he married Mary Lee Nesmith, and was married for 64 years before her death. He attended Longview Church of God. He served on the Board of Trustees, taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and was choir leader. He was an ardent supporter of his sons in athletics at Vinemont Junior High and Cullman High School and was a fan of the Vinemont Eagles.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a brother, Herman Brandon; and a sister, Pauline Brandon Teague.

Survivors include three sons, Jerry Mac Brandon and Don Preston Brandon, both of Anderson, Ind., and Asa Lee Brandon of Cullman; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three daughters-in-law, Normarie Elmore Brandon, Joan Huffstutler Brandon and Janet Sharp Brandon.

Visitation was Monday.

James Ottis 'J.O.' Kilpatrick

Funeral services for James Ottis "J.O." Kilpatrick, 82, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at Williams-McCracken Chapel, Dan Tumblin officiating, with Burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kilpatrick died Sunday, Nov. 23 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born June 17, 1921 in Cullman to Thomas Jefferson and Novah Junkins Kilpatrick. He was a mechanic for the state of Alabama Highway Department and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Bernice Kilpatrick.

Survivors include two sons, Earl (Keely) Kilpatrick of Fultondale and Randy Kilpatrick of Cullman; a daughter, Joyce (Jerry) Merritt of Montgomery; a sister, Gladys Doyle of Cullman; and eight grandchildren, Michael Shane Kilpatrick, April Kilpatrick, Peyton Merritt, Heather Floyd, Amy Kilpatrick, Zachary Kilpatrick, Brooks Gayton and Mallory Gayton.

Visitation was Monday.

Lorraine Akin

Funeral services for Lorraine Akin, 82, of Fairview will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at Williams-McCracken Chapel, Horace Hall officiating, with Burial in Fairview Baptist Cemetery.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Akin died Monday, Nov. 24 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born March 24, 1921 in Cullman County to Lee and Elizabeth Teichmiller Smith. She was a clerk at the Social Security office.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, D.C. Akin; and a daughter, Carol Akin.

Survivors include a son, Donny (Sandi) Akin of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; a daughter, Ellen (Joe) Clayton of Fairview; a brother, Frank (Betty) Smith of Cullman; a sister-in-law, Susie Smith of Cullman; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four nieces.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Fairview First Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Bessie M. Buzbee

Bessie M. Buzbee, 81, of Bremen, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, at her residence. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Moss-Service Funeral Home.

Imogene Taylor Daniel

Graveside services for Imogene Taylor Daniel, 80, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at Holly Pond Cemetery, the Rev. Guy Hunt officiating.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Daniel died Monday, Nov. 24 at Baptist Medical Center-Montclair in Birmingham. She was born Oct. 11, 1923 in Ohio to Croft and Sleena Easterwood Taylor. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include a daughter of love, Janice (Robert) Martin; six nieces; eight nephews; and two aunts, Lois Walker and Wanda Easterwood.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today.

Lowell Hadley Page

Funeral services for Lowell Hadley Page, 81, of Vinemont will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Wayne Nails officiating, with Burial in Providence Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Page died Monday, Nov. 24 at his residence. He was born Dec. 26, 1921 in Cullman County to William James and Ina Mabry Page. He was a retired electrician for Lurlene Wallace Hospital. He was a member of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II and was a member of Sub Vets of North America.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Pvt. First Class Roy D. Page; a brother, Claude Page; and a sister, Evelyn Grizzard.

Survivors include two sons, John Page of Mobile and Roger (Deborah) Page of Cullman; three daughters, Mary (Nasim) Rao of Illinois, Barbara Blumenfield of Cullman and Wendy (Phil) Burks of Vinemont; a brother, Quinton Page of Mobile; two sisters, Addie Ruth (Travis) White of Gulf Shores and Montez (Hudson) Moon of Pelham; a devoted cousin, Hoyt Mabry; a special friend, Judy Johnson; 10 grandchildren, John Tanner of Nashville, Tenn., Alex Page of Mobile, Catina Evans, Jamie Floyd, Minday Holcomb, Dakota Burks and Jade Burks, all of Vinemont, Ameena Rao, Imran Rao and Anwar Rao, all of Illinois; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday.
