Lyndon Brooke Stidham

Funeral services for Lyndon Brooke Stidham, 12, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, at Williams-McCracken Chapel, the Rev. Tim Aris officiating, with Burial in Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Fairview.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lyndon died Tuesday, Sept. 28, at her residence. She was born Dec. 3, 1991, in Cullman to Jeffrey Wayne and Lora Moore Stidham.

She was preceded in death by her father and a grandmother, Annie Bell Stidham.

Survivors include her mother, Lora Moore of Cullman; her grandparents, Sherry and Lynn Ennis and Larry and Becky Moore, all of Vinemont, and Howard and Audie Stidham of Cullman; and one sister, Hillary Faye Echols of Cullman.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.

Donald Jean Adamson

Funeral services for Donald Jean Adamson, 63, of Vinemont will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, the Rev. Vernon Willis officiating, with Burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Berlin.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Adamson died Monday, Nov. 1, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Sept. 26, 1941, in Cullman to Hubert Martin and Fred Lee Viola Roberson Adamson. He was a machinist for Solutia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Lanningham; and a son-in-law, Richard Mann.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Adamson; a son, Robert Lanningham; two daughters, Donna Mann and Connie (Wayne) Jones; two brothers, Harry (Myrtie) Adamson and Billy (Judy) Adamson; two sisters, Francis (Raymond) Campbell and Dorothy Jennings; and six grandchildren, Joshua (Jennifer) Duke, Carrie Mann, Stephanie Johnson, Danielle (Larry) Norris, Daniel Jones and Ginnette Lanningham.

Visitation was Tuesday.

Henry Delmer Dye

Funeral services for Henry Delmer Dye, 85, of Crane Hill will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Ron Gilbreath officiating, with Burial in Livingston Chapel Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Dye died Monday, Nov. 1, at his residence. He was born June 8, 1919, in Cullman County to Henry Jefferson Dye and Viola Burrow. He was a retired poultry farmer and a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jeff, C.A. and Emory; and three sisters, Novamie, Gracie and Velma.

Survivors include his wife, Hattie "Zora" Hudson Dye; a son, Harold (B.J.) Dye; a brother, Melvin (Lillian) Dye; four grandchildren, Jason Dye, Amy Dye, Angela Dye and Natalie Powell; and four great-grandchildren, Garrett Dye, Ryan Dye, Jacob Dye and Andrew Powell.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Evelyn Estelle Johnston

Funeral services for Evelyn Estelle Johnston, 84, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, at Center Hill Baptist Church, with Burial in the church cemetery.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Johnston died Monday, Nov. 1. She was born Feb. 18, 1920, in Cullman County to Carl and Dora Giles Nuss.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rozell Johnston; and her parents.

Survivors include a daughter, June (Donald) Jones of Hanceville; a granddaughter, Kristen (Paul) Holmes of Hanceville; a grandson, Kevin Jones of Birmingham; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was Tuesday.

William Oscar 'Bill' Dunlap Jr.

William Oscar "Bill" Dunlap Jr. was born in Cullman on Nov. 11,1940. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Oscar Dunlap Sr.

Mr. Dunlap passed away Wednesday, Nov. 3, at his residence surrounded by his family and friends.

Bill graduated from Cullman High School and attended St. Bernard College. He started work at Leeth National Bank in the proofing department for his father after school when he was 16 years of age. He continued in the banking profession until his retirement as a vice president of South Trust Bank of Cullman in 1992. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and an Auburn football fan for many years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and was closely associated with St. John's Evangelical Protestant Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Oscar Dunlap Sr.; his mother, Rosa Watson Dunlap; and a sister, Nancy Dunlap James.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Nell C. Dunlap; a daughter, Lisa Marsh; a son, Brett A. Weaver; four grandchildren, Amelia Bass, Andy Bass, Trystan Weaver and Dylon Marsh; his stepmother, Jean Dunlap; a sister, Rosalie (Eugene) Lloyd; a sister-in-law, Eula (Solomon) Johnson; two brothers-in-law, James Chappell and Bonnie James; and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Steve Griffith, Tom Williamson, Mitch Smith, John Guthrie, Alan Jackson and Sol Johnson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, at St. John's United Evangelical Protestant Church. The body will lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m., the Revs. Jim Walker, Robert Kurtz and Barren Lloyd officiating.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Moss-Service Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, make contributions to the St. John's Evangelical Protestant Church's Music Fund, First Methodist Church's Organ Fund or Cullman County Hospice.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

William Clarence Loyd

Funeral services for William Clarence Loyd, 78, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, the Revs. Rayburn Jones and Jeff Bennett officiating, with Burial in Center Grove Cemetery. Masonic graveside services will be held.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Loyd died Tuesday, Nov. 2, at his residence. He was bom Nov. 26,1925, and was preceded in death by his parents, William Asa and Almer Loyd.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Charlsie Faye Loyd; their three sons, Clarence Herman (Rebecca) Loyd, Robert Eugene (Sheila) Loyd and Terry Lynn (Renee) Loyd, all of Cullman. Other survivors include their seven grandchildren, Susan (Jeff) Bentley of Cullman, Misty (Chad) Shannon of Tuscaloosa, Chris Loyd, Trent (Michelle) Loyd of Cullman, Amanda (Chris) Dunn of Hartselle, Ryan McAnear and Chelsey Loyd of Cullman; four great-grandchildren, Brittney Cooper, Josh Bentley, Jacob Bentley and Sidni Dunn; and a brother-in-law, Johnie (Wynette) Scott.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Alacare Hospice, 4752 Highway 280 East, Birmingham, AL 35242.

George 'Jupe' Panos

Graveside services for George "Jupe" Panos, 86, of Crane Hill, formerly of Wylam in the Birmingham area, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, Pastor Arnold E. Hendrix Jr. officiating.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Panos died Tuesday, Nov. 2, at Woodland Medical Center. He was born Aug. 15, 1918, to Gus and Condilo Stambelos Panos. He was a coal miner and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Jimmy Panos.

Survivors include two sons, George C. Panos of Loganville, Ga., and Richard Watkins of Pleasant Grove; three daughters, Marguerite Dawson of Calera, Judy King of Jasper and Mary Jo Williams of Albany, Ga.; two brothers, Spero "Pete" Mahalas Ross of Atlanta, Ga., and Ireta "Tula" Davis of Highland, Calif.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.

James A. Weaver

James A. Weaver, age 86, born on April 29, 1918, died on Nov. 3, 2004, at Woodland Medical Center.

Son of Bernice and Wallie Weaver, James was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Kermit.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma Quick Weaver; two sons, Larry (Martha) Weaver and Donald (Mary) Weaver; two granddaughters, Doreen (Mike) Carter and Nancy Quioness; four grandsons, Lowell (Jill) Griffith, Darrek (Terry) Weaver and Lee and Lance Weaver; one stepdaughter, Linda Phipps; and two stepsons, Randy (Carol) Phillips and Ronnie Phillips.

He graduated from and played football for Cullman High School. He served four years in the U.S. Army in California and Alaska. He officiated high school football games for several years.

James graduated from Samford where he played football and earned a degree in science. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 33 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a member of the Cullman Masonic Lodge #421 for 53 years. He was also a Past Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Friends and neighbors will remember him as a compassionate and caring individual.

Visitation will be at Moss-Service Funeral Home Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, from 6 to 9 p.m., with a Masonic graveside service at Cullman City Cemetery on Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, at 11 a.m.

The family asks, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to Life Care Hospice.

Joyce Conn Bergeron

Graveside services for Joyce Conn Bergeron, 85, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2004, at Bottoms Cemetery in the Oakdale community in Athens, the Rev. Ray Latham officiating.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bergeron died Wednesday, Nov. 3, at Woodland Village Health Care. She was born Sept. 28, 1919, in Athens to Calvin and Effie Linton McClung. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Kutch McClung and Henner McClung, all of Athens.

Survivors include two sons, Chuck (June) Conn of Cullman and Bruce Hall of Savannah, Ga.; two daughters, Bobbie (Roy) Overshon of Dixon, Mo., and Patty Pezan of Savannah, Ga.; a sister, Marie Merith of Savannah, Ga.; an aunt, Georgia Pylant of Athens; two special nieces, Joyce (Gary) Graham of Savannah, Ga., and Betty McLeroy of Tennessee; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.

Alfred Brown

Funeral services for Alfred Brown, 72, of Cullman are incomplete and will be announced at a later date by Williams-McCracken Funeral Home. Mr. Brown died Wednesday, Nov. 3 at Woodland Medical Center.

Harding Coolidge Ward

Funeral services for Harding Coolidge Ward, 83, of Arley will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at Arley Congregational Church, with Burial in Bethel No. 1 Cemetery in Arley. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Nichols Funeral Home in Addison is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ward died Tuesday, Nov. 2, in Birmingham. He was born Dec. 20, 1920, in Winston County to George William and Perlie Nelson Ward.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edith Louise Ward; two sons, Gregory Ward and Harding Grant Ward; four brothers, Frank Jack Ward, George Allen Ward, Hyman Ward and Eugene Ward; and two sisters, Eunice Cleghorn and Imogene Adair.

Survivors include his wife, Julia Ward; nine children, Burl Eugene Ward, George Ernest (Sherry) Ward, Ronnie Boyd, Pat Pickle, Jeff Boyd, Roger Boyd, Gloria Eason, Chris Boyd and Hope Elizabeth (Roy Kenneth) Boyd; and a host of grandchildren.

Visitation was Wednesday.

Harvey Charles Smith

Graveside services for Harvey Charles Smith, 68, of Cullman will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, at Shelton Grove Cemetery in Hanceville, the Rev. David McDonald officiating.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Smith died Thursday, Nov. 4, in Cullman. He was born in Cullman on Feb. 3, 1936, to Roman and Jennie Shelton Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include two daughters, Lola Ann Kilgo of Bethsadia and Emma (Johnny) Tolbert of Vinemont; a granddaughter, Shelly Wilson of Vinemont; three sisters, Gerdielene Stanford of Cullman, Edna Self of Hanceville and Linda Sue Asbury of North Carolina; two brothers, Paul Smith and Jerry Smith of Georgia; five grandchildren, Tolbert, Melissa Chambers, Natasha Alexander, Spicer and Merrill; four great-grandchildren, Toney, Wilson, Bailey and Spicer.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Alfred Lee 'Junior' Brown

Funeral services for Alfred Lee "Junior" Brown, 72, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at Lystra Missionary Baptist Church, the Revs. Glenon Shedd and Sidney Newell officiating, with Burial in Lystra Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Brown died Wednesday, Nov. 3, at Woodland Medical Center. He was born March 5, 1932, in Randolph County to Noah Jackson and Annie Iola Shelnutt Brown. He was a farmer and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Effie Newell, Flo Iona Brown, Evelyn Pearson and Laura Pate; a brother, Jackson Cecil Brown; three brothers-in-law, Winston Collins, Elmer Lee Wright and Marsh Luther.

Survivors include two brothers, Walter Thomas (Nemridge) Brown of Cullman and Jimmy Lee (Doris Jean) Brown of Waverly, Fla.; two sisters, Ester Mildred Wright of Baileyton and Emma Jean Luther of Winter Haven, Fla.; a host of nieces, nephews, great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
