Edith Peinhardt Johnson

Funeral services for Edith Peinhardt Johnson, 92, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at a local nursing facility. She has been a resident of the Panama City area since 1946, moving there from Cullman, where she was born.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees Chapter No. 1305.

She is survived by her daughter, Maryon Burleson and her husband, Allen, of Mobile; two sons, Fred E. Johnson and his wife, Rosemary of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Al Johnson and his wife, Sue, of Calloaway, Fla.; a sister, Martha Marie Waldrop of Hanceville; a brother, W.C. Peinhardt of Hanceville; 12 grandchildren, Wade, Jan, Debbie, Shane, Deleyene, Lisa Kay, Chris, Greg, Beth, Robert, James and Michael; and numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus B. "Doc" Johnson; a son, Robert B. Johnson; a daughter, Marjorie White; and two brothers, Fred Peinhardt and Ervin Peinhardt.

Graveside funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Interment will follow.

Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home of Panama City, Fla., was in charge of arrangements.

Mary Sue McDaniel

Graveside services for Mary Sue McDaniel, 85, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at Cullman Memory Gardens.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. McDaniel died Monday, Nov. 15, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Feb. 19, 1919, to John and Lela Edmondson Hicks. She lived in the Cullman area for the past 40 years. She was Baptist by faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Mel John McDaniel; her parents; and two sisters, Faye Strickland and Pauline Dunlap.

Survivors include two sons, John M. McDaniel and Mitchell A. (Teresa) McDaniel, both of Cullman; a daughter, Melba Sandra (William) Howard of Cullman; seven grandchildren, Melba Bath, Michele (Sean) Toomey, Colleen McDaniel, Maggie McDaniel, Ben McDaniel, Mack McDaniel and Mark McDaniel; and four great-grandchildren, Macy Toomey, Sara Bath, Mickey Toomey and Case Toomey.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.

Ronald Alan Clark

Funeral services for Ronald Alan Clark, 46, of Hanceville were Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, at Hanceville Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Stanley Alldredge officiating, with Burial in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Cowley, Kan., on Nov. 4.

Hanceville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Clark died Tuesday, Nov. 2, in Cullman.

James Otto Bailey

Funeral services for James Otto Bailey, 74, of Bremen were Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at Valley Springs Baptist Church, the Revs. John Sellers and Ronnie Clark officiating, with Burial in Valley Springs Cemetery in Cullman.

Hanceville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bailey died Saturday, Nov. 13, in Bremen. He was born in Jefferson County on Feb. 20, 1930, to Roy and Myrtle Louise Wilbanks Bailey.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Leon Bailey, Larue Drummond and Kenneth Wells.

Survivors include his wife, Elouise Abbott Bailey of Bremen; six sons, Randy Bailey, Robin Bailey, Bruce Bailey, David Bailey, Jamie Bailey and Alton (Kathy) Bailey; four daughters, June (Junior) Speegle, Darlene (fiancÚ Pete) Nethery of Bremen, Janet (Frankie) Cruce and Patricia (Billy) Thomas; two brothers, Felton Henderson and Delmer Bailey; 25 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Sunday.

Alma Griffin Price

Funeral services for Alma Griffin Price, 92, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Dr. Edwin Hayes officiating, with Burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Price died Monday, Nov. 15 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Nov. 18, 1911, in Tishamingo County, Miss., to Clifford Elmer and Lillian Bennett Griffin. She was a bookkeeper for Buettner Bros. Lumber Company and a member of the Pinedale Garden Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie B. Price; and her brother, Kirk Griffin.

Survivors include three sons, William (Patricia) Price of Virginia, and John Harvey Price and Ken E. (Linda) Price, both of Cullman; two daughters, Nancy (Pete) Fountain of Cullman and Carolyn (Shirel) Grimmett of Tennessee; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church of Cullman's Nursery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Julius 'Glenn' Warren

Funeral services for Julius "Glenn" Warren, 89, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Steve Wood and John Richter officiating, with Burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Warren died Sunday, Nov. 14, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born June 11, 1915, in Wayne County, Tenn., to Lewis Alan and Roxie Riley Warren. He was an electronic technician for NASA. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Verdell and Willard Warren.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Perry Warren of Cullman; two sons, Perry (Kitty) Warren of Cullman and Charles (Judy) Warren of Birmingham; a sister, Thelma Lewis; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Life Care Hospice.

Visitation was Monday.

Mary Ruth Jones

Funeral services for Mary Ruth Jones, 47, of Cullman will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at First Church of the Nazarene, Aaron Coffey and Greg Story officiating, with Burial in Jones Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Jones died Sunday, Nov. 14, at UAB Hospital. She was born March 25, 1957, in Cullman County. She was the Director of Emergency Services at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was a longtime member and Sunday School teacher of the First Church of the Nazarene.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Holt and Mary Margie Lee Davis.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Jones of Cullman; two sons, Michael Jones and McKinley Jones, both of Cullman; a brother, Dan (Shelly) Davis of Iowa; and her grandmother, Ruby Davis of Tennessee.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cullman Regional Medical Center's Mary Jones Memorial Fund.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Edward Roland Harris

Funeral services for Edward Roland Harris, 80, of Falkville will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at Williams-McCracken Chapel, the Rev. Brown officiating, with Burial in Bell Springs Cemetery.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Harris died Saturday, Nov. 13, at Cullman Long Term Care.

Bobby 'Rabbit' Johnson McCombs

Funeral services for Bobby "Rabbit" Johnson McCombs, 60, of Addison will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at Addison Church of God. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to service.

Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

He died on Nov. 14, 2004, at his residence. He was born on Aug. 4, 1944, in Morris to the late Ross and Annie McCombs.

He was a retired machine operator for General Motors.

Survivors include a daughter, Gina McCombs (Greg) Clark; three brothers, Charles McCombs, Thomas McCombs and Junior McCombs; two sisters, Hazel Holladay and Sarah Terry; two grandchildren, Joshua Clark and Adam Clark; two stepgrandchildren, Jason Clark and Kimberly Clark; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was Monday.

Royce E. McElroy

Royce E. McElroy, 75, a native of Cullman and a resident of Marrero, La., died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004. He was the beloved husband of the late Blanche David McElroy; father of Kevin McElroy, Donna McElroy (Steele) and Stacie McElroy Green. He was the son of the late Lovie Alldredge and Elmer M. McElroy and brother of Margie Harold, Lloyd L. McElroy, Betty Moore, Van Buren McElroy, JoAnn Jones and the late Hansel McElroy. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, La., at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John Bosco Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Westlawn Memorial Park. Parlors will be open Tuesday from 6 to 10 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 to 10:15 a.m.

Bonita Pearl Cook

Funeral services for Bonita Pearl Cook, 92, of Hanceville, formerly of Springdale, Ark., will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale, Gary Frazier officiating, with Burial in Friendship Cemetery in Springdale.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Cook died Sunday, Nov. 14, in Hanceville.

Curtis 'Sam' Moody

Funeral services for Curtis "Sam" Moody, 88, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at Hanceville Funeral Chapel, Leon Mauldin officiating, with Burial in Union Hill Cemetery.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Moody died Monday, Nov. 15, in Cullman. He was born Dec. 12, 1915, in Alabama to Charles Monroe and Laura Elizabeth Edwards Moody.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include a brother, E.C. Moody of Hanceville; and two sisters, Eula Teasdale and Gracie Moody, both of Alexander, Va.

Visitation was Tuesday.

Eugene Crumbley

Funeral services for Eugene Crumbley, 87, of Holly Pond will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, at Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, Elders Guy Hunt and Owen Hunt and the Revs. Kenneth Little and J.W. Dial officiating, with Burial in Holly Pond Cemetery.

Holly Pond Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Crumbley died Monday, Nov. 15, at his home. He was born Aug. 9, 1917, in Cullman County to Jasper and Elizabeth Daniel Crumbley. He was a farmer. Mr. Crumbley served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Sgt. Crumbley was assigned to Company B 43rd Engineers construction battalion in Japan for eight months as a bridge foreman. He instructed and directed the activities of other enlisted men in the construction of hospitals, barracks and other government buildings. He laid foundations and completely constructed buildings, going both inside and outside finishing work. After being discharged he returned to his farm in Holly Pond.

Survivors include one son, Rickey Lynn (Diann) Crumbley of West Point; one daughter, Linda Jean Crumbley Federer of Vinemont; one sister, Floye Crumbley Estes of Holly Pond; four grandchildren, Chad Warren (Shannon) Federer of Holly Pond, Chanda Federer (Allan) Scott of Vinemont and Justin Dewayne (Amanda) Crumbley and Kristie Lynn Crumbley, both of Cullman; four great-grandchildren, Savannah, Belle and Ty Federer and Gaige Brown; and a special friend, Imagene Patterson McIntosh.

Pallbearers will be Dave Hassell, Wendell Sams, Chris Wisener, Pat Reid, David Taylor, Raymond House, Larry Hill, Herman Nail and Dewitt Sanford.

Joseph Rex McBrayer

Funeral services for Joseph Rex McBrayer, 75, of Cullman will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, at Bethlehem West Baptist Church, the Revs. Jerry Lake and Tim Aris officiating, with Burial in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McBrayer died Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Woodland Medical Center.

Geneva Nicholas White

Funeral services for Geneva Nicholas White, 76, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, at Moss-Service Chapel, the Rev. Gary Sartin officiating, with Burial in Valley Springs Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. White died Monday, Nov. 15, at her home. She was born Sept. 20, 1928, to Floyd and Novia Speegle Nicholas. She was a farmer and homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Felton White, and her parents.

Survivors include one son, Dwain (Charlotte) White; two sisters, Christine Nicholas Brown of Gardendale and Carolyn Nicholas Picker of Huntsville; three grandchildren, Jonathan (Jessica) White of Waynesville, N.C.; Julie (Barry) Schwaiger of Hampshire, Ill.; and Jennie (Greg) Weissend of Cullman; and four great-grandchildren, Walker, Georgia and Parx White and Charlie Schwaiger.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
