Amie

Graveside services for Deniko L. Amie, age 36 weeks, of 4600 Sprague Ave. in Anniston will be Tuesday at 12 p.m. in Newnan, Ga. Miller Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Deniko Amie died Thursday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include parents Christopher and Dereka Amie of Anniston; grandparents Michael and Linda Burrows of Pembroke, Bermuda and Christopher Amie Sr. and Mildred Bussie of Newnan, Ga.; great-grandparents Marshal and Cora Wallace of Memphis, Tenn., and Anita Amie of Newnan, Ga.; five uncles, Derrick Emery Jr. of Bermuda, Aaron Burrows and Gaylon Burrows of Pembroke, Maurice Amie, Justin Amie and Bernard Bussie, all of Newnan; two aunts, Chrissy Amie and Shawn Amie, both of Newnan; and numerous cousins and relatives.

Austin

Services for Elmer Austin, 70, of 366 Austin Rd. in Anniston will be announced by Miller Funeral Home. The family will receive today 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Austin died Sunday at his residence.

English

NORMAN, Okla.

Services for Juanita Lorraine English, 96, of 800 Canadian Dr., No. 315, Norman, Okla., will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Ranburne First Baptist Church with Rev. James Benefield officiating. Burial will be at Cleburne County Memory Gardens in Ranburne.

Mrs. English died Friday at Norman Regional Hospital.

Mrs. English was born in Jackson County, Miss. on February 20, 1905. She was a retired supervisor with AT&T Telephone Co. and a member of Ranburne First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. English, and her parents, Max M. and Nellie Pearl Reed Cohn.

Haynes

Services for Larry Haynes, 76, of Anniston will be announced by Chapel Hill Funeral Home.

Mr. Haynes died Saturday at the V.A. Hospital in Birmingham.

Kelley

MONTGOMERY

Services for Frances C. Kelley, 82, of Montgomery will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Leak Memory Chapel with Rev. Tom Shepard officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Elam Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Goshen. Visitation will be today 6-8 p.m. at Leak Memory Chapel.

Mrs. Kelley died Saturday at Baptist Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, Col. Thomas A. Rodgers; two daughters, Sue Kelley McGough (Elton) of Elkton, Ky. and Nancy Kelley Wilson of Birmingham; her mother, Tabbie Carter of Goshen; a brother Roy H. Carter (Irene) of Goshen; a sister Josephine Carter Gibbs (John) of Ranburne; five grandchildren Kelley McGough Kaufman (Jerrod) of Auburn, Wash., Marianne McGough and Adam McGough of Elkton, Ky., and Ellen Wilson and Clay Wilson of Birmingham; and one great-grandchild, William Kaufman.

Pallbearers will be Louis Bryant, Richard Bryant, J.C. Bryant, Adam McGough, Clay Wilson and Al McGough.

Mrs. Kelley was a native of Goshen, and lived in Montgomery for 60 years. She was a retired Vice President of Southern Guaranty Insurance Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie B. Kelley; a son, Edward C. Kelley and a son-in-law, Daniel Clay Wilson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Juvenile Diabetes. Foundation, Whitfield United Methodist Church or to your favorite charity.

Pottard

OXFORD

Services for Shevicka LaShon Pottard, 26, of 1030 Corbin Street, Apt. 4 in Oxford will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Hobson City with Rev. Terrell Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery with Ervin Funeral Chapel in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services. The procession will leave from 1203 Altamont Rd. in Anniston at 12:30.

Ms. Pottard died Thursday in Anniston.

Survivors include a son, Qweshaun Pottard of Oxford; her mother and stepfather, Sharon DeRamus Clayborn and Donnie Clayborn of Anniston; her father, William Pottard; a sister, Shemere Pottard of Oxford; a brother, Christopher Pottard of Anniston; a special friend, Kinta Harris; and her grandparents, Wyatt and Alma DeRamus and Williard and Annie Pottard.

Pallbearers will be Dontay Almon, David Almon, Ray Williams, Shane Montgomery, John Clark and Jeff Clark.

Ms. Pottard was a native of Calhoun County and a 1994 graduate of Oxford High School. She was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Hobson City. She was employed by Shoney's Corporation in Oxford.

Mrs. Roach died Sunday at Regional Medical Center.

The infant died Thursday at Regional Medical Center.

Services for Effie Geneva Angel, 89, of 1270 Dryhollow Road, Anniston will be today at 3 p.m. at Old Davistown Church of God with Revs. Jerry Irwin, Bobby Brooks and Harold Jennings officiating. Burial will be in Iron City Cemetery with Dryden Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Angel died Sunday at Jacksonville Hospital.

Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Walker of Anniston; two sons, Donald Angel of Anniston and Joseph Angel of Heflin; nine grandchildren, Sue Pilla, Dianne Bussey, Donna Hammett, Kathy Howell, Brenda Maner, Denise Gilmer, Debra Doss, Lisa Lawler and Michelle Deese; and 21 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Archie Waits, Shane Hammond, Bob Pilla, Brian Doyal, Edgar Burt and J.B. Maner.

Mrs. Angel was a native of St. Clair County and had lived in Calhoun County most of her life. She was a member of Old Davistown Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Oden Angel and a son, James C. Angel.

Mrs. Archie died Monday at Colonial Pines Nursing Home in Oxford.

Austin

Graveside services for Elmers Austin, 70, of 366 Austin Road will be today at 10 a.m. at Forestlawn Gardens Mausoleum with Steve McGinnis and Donald Edwards officiating and Miller Funeral Home in charge. The body will be at the mausoleum an hour prior to services.

Mr. Austin died Sunday at his home.

Survivors include four daughters and their husbands, Carolyn and Ken Martin of Heflin, Debra and Donald Edwards of Smith's, Donna and Jimmy Hughes of Anniston and Sharon and Jimmy Dangar of Woodstock, Ga.; two brothers, Buster Austin of Choccolocco and Arthur Austin of Anniston; and eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Paul Lock, Vernal Forbus, Leroy Hunter, Harold Ashley, Dennis Austin and Stephen Sprayberry.

Mr. Austin had lived in Anniston 41 years and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Willene Austin.

Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to Hospice of East Alabama.

Services for Velerie Jones Bolt, 73, of Opelika, formerly of Clay County, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Rev. Jerry Colquett officiating. Burial will be in Bethel West Baptist Church in Randolph County. The family will receive friends 5:30-8 tonight and until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bolt died Monday at her home.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Norma and Jeff Wilson of Wetumpka; four sons, Phillip Bolt and his wife, Pat, of Lineville, Edward Bolt of Anniston, Richard Bolt and his wife, Susan, and Jason Bolt, all of Opelika; a sister, Alma Burdette of Cragford; a brother, James Fred Jones of Akron, Ohio; and nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bolt was a native of Clay County, a former resident of Lineville and had lived in Lee County several years. She had been employed by West Point Pepperell in Weaver 18 years and was a convenience store manager 10 years. She was a member of Lineville Baptist Church.

Services for Eugene "Buddy" Brown Jr., 65, of Buffalo, formerly of Talladega, will be announced by Edward's Funeral Home in Buffalo.

Mr. Brown died Sunday at Kress Nursing Home.

Harrell

Services for Mattie Elizabeth Harrell, 81, of Robertsdale were Monday at 11 a.m. at Brooks Pentecostal Holiness Church. Rev. David Stephens officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery with Harrison Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Harrell died Friday.

Survivors include two daughters, Vivian Spratlin of Robertsdale and Juanita Cox of Anniston; a son, David A. Harrell of Andalusia; a brother, James R. Smith of Andalusia; two sisters, Annie Bell Lee of McKenzie and Edna Lee Lynch of Owassa; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Harrell was a former resident of Greenville. She and her late husband, Rev. David Harrell Sr., pastored several congregations in the state and local area, including Anniston, Greenville and Flomaton.

Hart

CENTRE

Services for Sam Houston Hart, 81, of Centre will be tonight at 7 at Perry Funeral Home with Revs. Melvyn Salter and Ted Elrod officiating. Masonic graveside services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends two hours prior to service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Hart died Monday at Cherokee County Nursing Home.

Survivors include a son, Kenney Marshall Hart of Centre; a sister, Edna Gossett of Centre and nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hart was a native of Cherokee County and the son of the late Marshall and Onnie Belle Bishop Hart. He was a retired maintenance engineer with Cherokee Baptist Medical Center. He was a member of Forney Lodge 440 and Calcedonia Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Belle Gossett Hart.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Calcedonia Cemetery Fund, c/o Bob Bishop, P.O. Box 88, Centre, AL 35960.
