Fleming

ALEXANDRIA

Graveside services for O'Neal Fleming, 75, of Alexandria will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Anniston Memorial Gardens with Rev. Scott Smith officiating and Anniston Memorial Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Fleming died Wednesday at Baptist Medical Center-Montclair in Birmingham.

Survivors include two sons, Calvin N. Fleming of Birmingham and Wesley D. Fleming of Jacksonville; two daughters, Jill F. McCullars of Orlando, Fla. and Phillis F. Christopher of Jacksonville; two sisters, Polly Haynes of Alexandria and Rachael Green of Jacksonville; a special friend, Betty Maddox of Oxford, and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Brown, Jim Brown, Mike Nelson, John E. Morris Jr., Mark Fleming and Will Christopher.

Mr. Fleming was retired from Anniston Army Depot after 22 years of service. He was a World War II Navy veteran and served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Bynum American Legion.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

Services for Clayton L. Ginn of Jacksonville will be announced by Anniston Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Ginn died Thursday in Jacksonville.

Harris

ROANOKE

Services for Annie Ruth Carson Harris, 85, of Roanoke will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Allen officiating. Burial will be in Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Harris died Thursday at Randolph Medical Center.

Survivors include two sons, James Harris of Lanett and Alvin Harris of Five Points, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Harris was a lifelong resident of Randolph County and the daughter of John W. and Beatrice Britt Carson. She was a homemaker and a member of Lane's Chapel Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Harris.

Johnson

TALLADEGA

Services for Willie B. Johnson, 80, of Talladega will be Saturday at 4 p.m. at Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary with Rev. Frankie Moton officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Johnson died Tuesday at his home.

Survivors include two daughters, Annie Morton of Dayton, Ohio and Willie Mae Moton of Talladega, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will friends of the family.

Mr. Johnson was a former employee of Anniston Army Depot and an Army veteran. He was awarded the Meritorious Unit Award, the World War II Victory Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal. He was preceded in death by his mother, Inez Johnson.

Services for Kenneth Demon Jones, 23, of Roanoke will be announced by Clark Memorial Funeral Service.

Mr. Jones died Wednesday at his home.

Services for Durwood Gewinn Key Jr., 53, of Oxford will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Curtis and Son North Chapel in Sylacauga with Rev. Gary Rivers officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:30-9 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Key died Wednesday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Key of Oxford; a daughter, Jennifer Key Murphy of Oxford; two sisters, Marie McEwen of Hanover and Lisa Floyd of Fayetteville; and a grandchild, Hunter Murphy.

Mr. Key was a native of Sylacauga and had attended Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Oxford. He was a sales manager for Tape Craft in Anniston.

Services for General Gray Lehr, 74, of 624 Church Ave. S.E., will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Rev. David J. Ray and Larry Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Oak Bowery Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Lehr died Wednesday in Ohatchee.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Joel E. and Debbie Lehr of Calhoun, Ga.; a sister, Margaret Nance of Lincoln; three brothers, David Lehr of Anniston, Milton Lehr of Alexandria and William Earl Lehr of Ohatchee; and a grandchild, Justin Worley.

Pallbearers will be Lamar Poland, Larry Harrell, Tim Williams, Joey Harrell, Marty Harrell and James Smith.

Mr. Lehr was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County and a member of Hatcher Avenue Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Lehr and Charles Lehr.

Services for Nannie Ferguson Nowlin, 97, of Alexandria will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Clyde Ray and Clarence Chappel officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Nowlin died Wednesday at her home.

Survivors include three daughters, Myrtle White of Alexandria and Catherine Parker and Gladys Key, both of Weaver; a son, William G. "Pete" Ferguson of Eastaboga; two stepdaughters, Mildred Freeman of Alexandria and Elsie Jordon of Flomaton; eight grandchildren, Kay Ryan, Ann Wohl, Brock Parker, Debra Thomas, Patsy Nunnelley, Jerry Ferguson, Bryan Key and Kristy Cosby, 10 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Ferguson, Eddie Nunnelley, Bill Ryan, Brock Parker, Jim Wohl and Tim Cosby.

Mrs. Nowlin was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County and a member of Weaver Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harris Ferguson and Walter Nowlin; a stepson, Wesley Nowlin; a grandchild, Cindy White; and 12 brothers and sisters.

Robinson

Services for Barbara Ann Robinson, 56, of 1114 Boynton Ave., Anniston will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Smith Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church with Revs. G.T. Britt and P.Q. English officiating. Burial will be in Eden Hills Cemetery with Ervin Funeral Chapel in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mrs. Robinson died Friday at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Elizabeth Robinson and Jorita and Kenneth Holman, all of Anniston; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Lee and Roberta Robinson, Ronald Robinson and Derric Robinson, all of Anniston; her stepmother, Mattie Jackson; 10 sisters, Linda Rutledge, Jewell Glover, Betty Richardson and her husband, Donald, Sylvia Wright and her husband, John, Lucinda Foster, Mary Duncan and her husband, Albert, Theresa McElderry, Jean Green, Annie Sullivan and Terrie Teague and her husband, Johnny; a brother, James Sullivan, five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be members of Cobb Avenue High School Class of 1963. Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Robinson, Ronald Robinson, Kenneth Holman, Derric Robinson, Lee D. Robinson and Jerry Washington.

Mrs. Robinson was a native of Calhoun County and a 1963 graduate of Cobb Avenue High School. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and James Jackson.

Services for Odell Brock Turner, 89, of Lincoln will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Joseph Stafford Rowser Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery with Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mrs. Turner died Monday at her home.

Survivors include a daughter, Mae Z. Turner-Barclay of Lincoln; a son, Robert E. Turner of Anniston; three sisters, Henrietta Walker of Bynum and Edna Mae Brock and Ruby L. Moore, both of Talladega, 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Mrs. Turner was a member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church and was retired from Regional Medical Center in Anniston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Turner; a daughter, Mary Joyce Turner; two sons, Alfonsa Turner and Troy Lemon; her parents, Elijah Brock and Ethel Posey Brock; three sisters, Josie Ragland, Minnie M. Brogan and Bernice McKee; and four brothers, A.D. Brock, Thonzy Brock, James O. Brock and Hardell Brock.

Wallace

ALPINE

Services for Sara Ann Wallace, 63, of Alpine will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at New Maryland Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Stanley Threatt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Terry's Metropolitan in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mrs. Wallace died Aug. 8 at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham.

Survivors include three daughters, Catherine Wallace of Alpine, Phyllis Wallace of Talladega and Bonita Wallace of Wetumpka; three sons, Jerry Wallace of Childersburg, Rodney Wallace of Talladega and Vince Wallace of Alpine; five sisters, Jessie Nell Morris and Kathy Scales, both of Talladega, Eva Mae Glousanya of Washington D.C., Carol Anderson of Sylacauga and Lessie Mae Hamilton of Brooklyn, N.Y.; five brothers, J.B. McGraw of Hyattsville, Md., Robert McGraw of Childersburg, Darryl Twymon of Fayetteville, N.C., Roderick Twymon of Fort Sills, Okla. and Willie Henry Twymon of Talladega, 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Wallace was a member of New Maryland Baptist Church and was a former employee of Bemis Bag Company and Avondale Mills. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Twymon and Nannie Mae Chapman McGraw; her husband, Will Wallace Jr.; a sister, Willie Mae Scott; and two brothers, James E. Chapman and William H. Chapman.

ANDERSON, Ind.

Services for Bettie Lawler Welch, 91, of Anderson, formerly of Talladega, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Second Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. William O'Neal officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery with L.C. May Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Welch died Friday at St. John's Health Systems.

Survivors include four daughters, Catheryn Wilson, Betty Sue Swain and Florence Lee Gould, all of Anderson and Sara Ann Williams of Hartford, Conn.; four sons, Andrew Welch of Talladega, Joe Lewis Welch of Indianapolis, Ind., and William Welch and Gardner Welch, both of Anderson; four sisters, Ida Mae Reynolds and Sadie Mae Gladney, both of Cleveland and Bertha Ragland and Juliet Wilson, both of Talladega; a brother, Curtis "Tiny" Lawler of Talladega, 33 grandchildren, 78 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Welch was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the missionary society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Yancy Welch; her parents, Willie and Nellie Lawler; a son, Charles Edward Welch; two brothers, Floyd Lawler and Charlie Lawler; three sisters, Maddie D. Chapman, Lessie Swain and Alice Williams and three grandchildren.
