Ellis

Services for Mary Ann Ellis, 92, of Anniston will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Apostolic Faith Church with Rev. Alton Steele and Bishop Charles E. Davis officiating. Burial will be in Eden Hills Cemetery with Ervin Funeral Chapel in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services. The family will receive friends 7-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ellis died Tuesday at Beverly Health Care Center in Oxford.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Martha Palatine of Chicago and Mary and Sammie J. Fears of Anniston; two sisters, Katie Sue Jackson of Lanett and Willie Bell Gunn of Louisville, Ky., five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be brothers of Apostolic Faith Church.

Mrs. Ellis was a native of Alabama and had lived in Chicago most of her life. Upon her return to Alabama, she attended Apostolic Faith Church, the pastorate of her grandson, Rev. Sammie L. Fears. She was a graduate of Lanier High School in Lanett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Ellis; her parents, Levi and Florence Reed; two sisters, Mable Jackson and Florence Terry; and two brothers, Jo Reed and Bobby Reed.

Gaddy

Services for Mary E. Gaddy, 68, of Anniston will be today at 10 a.m. at Miller Funeral Home in Oxford with Rev. Ken Ballard officiating. Burial will be in Eulaton United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Gaddy died Wednesday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include two sons, Allen Gaddy of Weaver and Johnny Gaddy of Oxford; six daughters, Mary Ellen Kirby of Coldwater, Linda Davis of Tampa, Fla., Cheryl Simonds and Karen Waugh, both of Anniston, Renea Smith of Heflin and Tina Walleck of Greenville, S.C.; four brothers, Howard Smith and Joe Harold Smith, both of Arab, Larry Smith of Jacksonville and Richard Smith of Eastaboga; seven sisters, Mildred Willingham of Anniston, Martha Ayers of Satsuma, Fla., Gaynell Ray of Oxford, Sue McNeal of Valdosta, Ga., Sandra Balderas of Coldwater, Lucille Brooks of Ohatchee and Juanita Lee of Scottsboro, 25 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Gaddy, Dewayne Gaddy, Danny Ledbetter, Shannon Ledbetter, Michael Smith, Bradley Smith, Brant Smith and Mark Ledbetter.

Mrs. Gaddy was a lifelong resident of Anniston and a member of 49th Street Baptist Church in Anniston. She was retired from FMC.

Glassco

CENTRE

Services for Ernest Lester Glassco, 88, of Centre will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Perry Funeral Home with Revs. Jim Wright and Melvyn Salter officiating. Graveside services will be Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Glassco died Thursday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Imogene Hammrich Glassco; three daughters and their husbands, Loretta G. and Wayne Smith of Cullman and Linda and Clark Hedrick and Myra and Bill Gaines, all of Centre; two sons and their wives, Ralph Lester and Bea Glassco of Houston, Texas and Phillip Larry and Jill Glassco of Birmingham; a sister, Ettie Miller of Boaz, 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Centre Baptist Church Volunteer Sunday School Class.

Mr. Glassco was a native of Marshall County and a member of Centre First Baptist Church. He was a retired federal government soil conservationist. He was preceded in death by his parents, Byron and Audie Howard Glassco.

Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the Centre First Baptist Church Building Fund.

Higgins

FIVE POINTS

Services for Louis Higgins, 96, of Five Points will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Rehope Missionary Baptist Church in Five Points with Rev. H.L. Jones officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Vines Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Higgins died Wednesday at Columbus Regional Medical Center in Columbus, Ga.

Survivors include a son, Jerome Higgins of Five Points; two daughters, Theresa B. Washington of Nashville, Tenn. and Anna H. Washington and her husband, Harold, of Anniston; a daughter-in-law, Anita H. Higgins of Five Points; a brother and his wife, Gilbert and Jeanette Higgins of Notasulga, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Higgins was a native and lifelong resident of Chambers County. He was a member of Rehope Missionary Baptist Church for more than 80 years and had served as clerk, trustee, Sunday school superintendent and Sunday school teacher. He was a graduate of the Tuskegee Institute and was a printer, teacher, farmer and entrepreneur. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude I. Higgins; and two sons, Richard Higgins and Franklin Higgins.

Services for Robert Leroy Lambert, 81, of Muscadine will be announced by Brown and Kughn Memory Chapel.

Mr. Lambert died Wednesday at his home.

Sandagato

LINCOLN

Memorial services for Ralph L. Sandagato, 80, of Lincoln will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at his home, 319 Henderson Road, Lincoln, with Rev. Bobby Parker officiating and Collier-Butler Funeral Home of Gadsden in charge. The family will receive friends Saturday after 2 p.m. at their home in Lincoln.

Mr. Sandagato died Tuesday.

Survivors include his wife, Grace Sandagato of Lincoln; three sons and their wives, Robert J. and Pamela Cooper of Gainesville, Texas, Gary K. and Susan Cooper of Pine Plains, N.Y. and Michael and Lisa Cooper of Gainesville; a daughter and her husband, Kathleen and Jim Burmeister of Louisville, Texas; a sister and her husband, Philoemna and Roland Kreeber of Hudson, N.Y.; a brother, Joseph Sandagato of Hudson, nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Sandagato was a native of New York and had lived in Lincoln 17 years. He was past president of the Pine Plains Lions Club of New York and was a member of the Pell City Lions Club, Lincoln United Methodist Church and Hudson New York Elks Club for 50 years. He drove a school bus many years. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony Sandagato and Michael Sandagato.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any Lincoln school or the family.

Sims

TALLADEGA

Services for Annie C. Sims, 101, of Talladega will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Rocky Mount Baptist Church with Rev. J.F. McKinney officiating. Burial will be in church cemetery with Sims Funeral Service in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mrs. Sims died Tuesday at Talladega Health Care Center.

Survivors include a daughter, Rogers Louise Cooper of Talladega; and three nieces, Mary Frances Orr and Dorothy Chatman, both of Talladega, and Margaret Cooper of Gadsden.

Pallbearers will be church deacons and friends of the family.

Watson

Graveside services for Carol Tanner Watson, 67, of Anniston will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Forestlawn Gardens with Rev. Alex Stevens officiating and Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory in charge. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Watson died Wednesday at National Health Care.

Survivors include her husband, William Wayne Watson of Anniston; a son and his wife, Brian Kelly Watson and Sally Minshew Watson of Greenville, S.C.; a brother and his wife, Clifford Lee Tanner and Marjorie Scruton Tanner of Atlanta; and two grandchildren, William Gerald Watson and Sarah Tanner Watson.

Mrs. Watson had lived in Anniston most of her life and was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd Presbyterian. She was a lifetime member of the Salvation Army's Women's Auxiliary and was retired from the Anniston City school system. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lee Tanner; and a son, William Lee Watson.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the William Lee Watson Memorial Fund, c/o Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, 461 Choccolocco Road, Anniston, AL 36207; the Salvation Army Women's Shelter; the Presbyterian Home for Children, or a charity of your choice.

Webb

HEFLIN

Services for Wilfred Henry "Bill" Webb, 79, of Heflin will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 9-10:40 a.m. Saturday at Dryden Funeral Home.

Mr. Webb died Monday at his home.

Survivors include two daughters, Holly Dunn of Pensacola, Fla. and Jean Sanders of Atlanta; three sons, Gary S. Webb of Katy, Texas, W.A. Long of Heflin and Jimmy Long of Oxford, and 15 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Long, Walter Ader, Allen Long, Andy Barnett, Stanley Grubbs and Bobby Sanders.

Mr. Webb was a native of Cleburne County and had lived in Oklahoma from 1981 until 1999, when he returned to Cleburne County to make his home. He was a welder and a Navy veteran.

Services for Velma Wood, 78, of Lineville will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Lineville with Revs. Michael Strong, Charles Caldwell and Clinton Staples officiating. Burial will be in Lineville Community Cemetery with Garrett Funeral Home in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mrs. Wood died Wednesday at her home.

Survivors include her husband, Freedom Wood of Lineville; two sons and their wives, George and Mary Wood of New Jersey and Roosevelt and Rose Wood of Lineville; 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Mrs. Wood was a native of Clay County, a homemaker and a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church.

Graveside services for Ernest Sewell "Dick" Young, 87, of Centre will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Cherokee Memory Gardens with Rev. James Grace officiating and Perry Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Young died Wednesday at Cherokee Baptist Medical Center.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Carol and Henry Wheeler of Demorest, Ga. and Judy and Billy Hopper of Rome, Ga.; a son and his wife, Ernest and Barbara Young Jr. of Tallassee; two brothers, Roscoe Young of Rainsville and Ralph Young of Centre; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be James Grimes, Claude Jordan, Glenn Jordan, Johnny Walker, Ken Woodall, Charles Young, Ronald Young and Terry Young.

Mr. Young was a native of Cherokee County and the son of the late Tom and Exar Rogers Young. He was a retired farmer and was one of the founding members and a former deacon of East Centre Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wives, Ruby Young and Ruth Young; a daughter, JoAnn Young; five brothers, Alec Young, Kermit Young, Howard Young, Barney Young and Harold Young; and a sister, Pauline Woodall.

Boyd

FOLEY

Services for Joe Clyde Boyd, 62, of Foley, formerly of Anniston, will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Hopeful Baptist Church in Munford with Rev. Andy Wilkerson officiating. Burial will be in Hopeful Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory.

Mr. Boyd died Thursday in Foley.

Survivors include a former wife, Edith Joy Thompson of Anniston; three sons, James Boyd of Anniston, Jesse Boyd of Hopkinsville, Ky. and Thomas Boyd of Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas; three daughters, Wanda Smith of Heflin, Darlene Beck of Anniston and Meredith Storey of Jacksonville; three sisters, Betty Comer of Oxford, Margie Hise of Sebring, Fla and Bernice McKinnon of Michigan; 18 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Victor Bates, David Watts, Jeremy Buchanan, Jason Boyd, Oliver Butterworth and Bill Meeks.

Mr. Boyd was an Anniston native. He was preceded in death by a son, Grant Edward Boyd.

Ingram

LINEVILLE

Services for Chester Ingram, 94, of Lineville will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Edge officiating. Burial will be in the Clay County Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 5:30 to 8 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville and until the service begins on Monday.

Mr. Ingram died Friday at the Clay County Nursing Home.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sue I. And Clyde Walker and Anne and Charles L. Poole, all of Lineville; a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Nancy Ingram of Guntersville; nine grandchildren, Cindy Walker, Suzanne Morris, William Joel Ingram, Joel Poole, Melanie Kirklin, Amy Ingram, Amber Ingram, Jim Beard and Seth Beard; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. Ingram was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County. He was a member of the State Secondary Agricultural School football team, the Lineville Aggies, who were undefeated in the 1926 season. Mr. Ingram was the oldest living Lineville Aggies player. He was employed with the Clay County Commission for more than 35 years as an equipment operator, at Higgins Manufacturing for more than 15 years, and was a farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise W. Ingram.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
