Wooten

SHELBY

Services for Glenda Gertrude "Trudy" Brown Wooten, 58, of Shelby will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega with Dr. Curtis Kelley officiating. Burial will be Pine Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-9 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wooten died Monday at her home.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry L. Wooten of Shelby; three sons, Philip L. Wooten, Jeffrey W. Wooten and Robert Brian Wooten, all of Shelby; and five grandchildren, Brandon W. Wooten, Christian Griffin, Bethany Elizabeth Wooten, Frank Wesley Hogue and Taylor Brian Wooten.

Pallbearers will be Mark Nichols, Randy Jowers, Randy Martin, Kit Hall, Norberto Vasquez and Richard Bailey.

Mrs. Wooten was a native of Talladega and had lived in Shelby 29 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Talladega. She and her husband were owners of Okomo Marina Mobile Park and Restaurant on Lay Lake in Shelby County. She was a member of the South Shelby Chamber of Commerce and was very active in local charities.

Wyatt

RIVERSIDE

Graveside services for Peggy Ragan Wyatt, 63, of Riverside, formerly of Piedmont, will be today at 2 p.m. at Carmel Cemetery with Rev. Robert Praytor officiating and Mickelsen-McGee Brown-Service Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends noon to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wyatt died Sunday at Medical Center East in Birmingham.

Survivors include a son, Michael Wyatt of Riverside; a daughter, Venita Wyatt of Riverside; a brother, Wayne Ragan; and a grandchild, Peyton Wyatt.

Pallbearers will be Marcus Ragan, David Ragan, Mark Greenwood, Ray Ragan, Ernest Pointer and Jim Pierce.

Mrs. Wyatt was born and raised in Piedmont and had lived in Riverside 10 years. She loved to paint. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Rossie Ragan.

The family request no flowers. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Bishop

ASHVILLE

Services for James Hubert Bishop, 80, of Ashville will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Pell City with Rev. Marlin Cox officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Ashville. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Bishop died Sunday in Ashville.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Lucretia and Eugene Carden of Calera; two sons and a daughter-in-law, James Blaine and Betty Bishop of Trinity and Ronald Bishop of Denver; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Euna Gardner of Bessemer, Lillie Mae and Payne Swan of Ashville, Virginia Kilgore of Trussville and Eloise and Tom Fulmer of Leeds; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, four nieces and seven nephews.

Pallbearers will be Rick Carden, Ron Bishop, Curtiss Bishop, Dennis Watts, Steve Bishop, Rev. Levernon Davis, Chris Smitherman and Jeff Smitherman.

Mr. Bishop was a World War II veteran and had served in the Army. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 6652 in Ragland and Greensport Baptist Church in Ashville.

Bryant

ALEXANDRIA

Services for Andrew Harland Bryant Sr., 79, of Alexandria will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Alexandria United Methodist Church with Rev. Jack Causey officiating. Burial will be in Union Methodist Cemetery in Wellington with Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory in charge. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Bryant died Sunday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Wilkins Bryant of Alexandria; two sons and their wives, Andrew H. Bryant Jr. and Marilyn Bryant of Key West, Fla. and Michael W. Bryant and Pam Bryant of Birmingham; two grandchildren, Andrew H. Bryant III and Keri L. Bryant; and two great-grandchildren, Hayden Bryant and Savannah Bryant.

Pallbearers will be Clarence Page, Lenn Costner Sr., Robert Ponder, John Lowery, Bill Storey and Steve Terrell. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Alexandria Civitan Club.

Mr. Bryant was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He was a member of Alexandria United Methodist Church and the Alexandria Civitan Club. He was retired from Liberty National Life Insurance Company and was an Army World War II veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew J. and Nannie Bryant.

Memorials can be made to Alexandria United Methodist Church.

Howard

PELL CITY

Services for Mark Daryl Howard, 32, of Pell City will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Pell City with Rev. Jacky Connell officiating. Burial will be in St. Clair Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Howard died Sunday in Talladega County.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Bickerstaff Howard of Pell City; two sons, Madison Cole Howard and Noah Henderson Howard, both of Pell City; his parents, John T. and Frances Richey Howard of Pell City; a brother and his wife, Jeffrey T. and Donna Howard of Pell City; his grandmother, Bertie Richey Wood of Pinson; a niece, Hannah Howard; and a nephew, Charlie Howard.

Pallbearers will be Tim Gunter, Jeff Howard, Randy Green, Eddie Gibson, Tony McElroy and Keith Ingram.

Mr. Howard was a native and resident of Pell City for most of his life. He attended Auburn University and was employed by ALG Graphics in Birmingham as an art director. He attended Eden Westside Baptist Church.

Hughes

OXFORD

Services for Lucille C. Hughes, 76, of Oxford will be today at 11 a.m. at Pinetucky Baptist Church with Rev. Stanly Smith officiating. Burial will be in Pinetucky Cemetery with Dryden Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Hughes died Sunday at her home.

Survivors include a son, Robert Hughes of Oxford; a daughter, Loretta Kent of Heflin; a sister, Dela Mae Stephens of Blairsville, Ga., six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Mrs. Hughes was a native of Georgia and had lived in Cleburne County most of her life. She was a member and former Sunday school teacher at Pinetucky Baptist Church. She had been a lab technician.

Services for Minister Billy Ralph Joiner, 41, of Roanoke will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at East Roanoke Church of God with Bishop Wade Wright officiating. Burial will be in Skyview Memorial Gardens in Welch with Silmon Mortuary in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services. The family will receive friends 12:30-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Joiner died Saturday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his mother, Ivy Joiner of Roanoke; three sisters, Irene Thomas, Joyce Ann Beard and Emma Jean Winston, all of Roanoke; three brothers, James Joiner, Lee Steve Joiner and Stanford Joiner, all of Roanoke; three stepdaughters, Kim Kelley, Teresa Kelley and Lucretia Kelley, all of Roanoke; a stepson, Larry Kelley of Roanoke, and four stepgrandchildren.

Mr. Joiner was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Joiner; his father, Steve Joiner Sr.; and a brother, John Roger Joiner.

Services for Kathryn Hilburn Livingston, 79, of Piedmont will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with Revs. Lewis Ward and James Ward officiating. Burial will be in Piedmont Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Livingston died Sunday at Piedmont Health Care Center.

Survivors include her husband, M.L. Livingston of Piedmont; three daughters, Shirley Livingston Waits of Piedmont, Jo Winkles of Spring Garden and Eddie Salim of Clanton; a son, O.W. "Scooter" Livingston of Nances Creek; a sister, Opal Penland of Piedmont, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Blackwelder, Pep Waits, Dennis Grissom, Ken Grissom, Carl Cronan, Patrick Livingston, Matthew Livingston and Tony Winkles.

Mrs. Livingston was a native and lifelong resident of the Piedmont area. She was a member of Pleasant Arbor Baptist Church.

Services for Julia Peeple Maddox, 75, of Anniston will be today at 2 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. J.E. Merriweather officiating and Ervin Funeral Chapel in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mrs. Maddox died Thursday at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Sharon Maddox Thomas; a caregiver, Gwen Murphy; two sisters, Mary Peoples and Susanna Person, both of Detroit; and two brothers, Joseph Peeple Sr. of Detroit and George Peoples of Santa Monica, Calif.

CARROLLTON, Ga.

Services for Daniel Mallows Jr., 29, of Carrollton will be today at 2 p.m. at Martin and Hightower Heritage Chapel in Carrollton with Rev. Keith Runnells officiating. Burial will be today at 4 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Polk County, Ga.

Mr. Mallows died Saturday at his home.

Survivors include a daughter, Ali Mallows of Carrollton; his mother, Sue Cheeks Mallows of Carrollton; his father and stepmother, Philip D. Mallows Sr. and Susan Mallows of Anniston; two half sisters, Elisabeth Mallows of Carrollton and Avie Mallows of Anniston; a half brother, James Mallows of Carrollton; his grandparents, George and Arah Mallows of Piedmont; two aunts, Tammy Martin of Carrollton and Phyllis Mitchel of Piedmont; and an uncle, Doug Cheeks of Bremen, Ga.

Pallbearers will be Corey McKenzie, Greg Yancey, Derrick Harris, Eric Rogers, Matt Summerlin, David Cheeks, Michael Wolfe and Kyle Mosley.

Mr. Mallows was a native of Carroll County, Ga. He worked in construction and was a Baptist.

Services for Frances Whitman McClain, 87, of Birmingham, formerly of Anniston, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory. Burial will be in Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. McClain died Sunday at Jacksonville Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Ann Elizabeth McClain Frachiseur and Dan K. Frachiseur of Birmingham; a son and his wife, John Lewis McClain III and Linda Odom McClain of Decatur; a brother, James P. Whitman Jr. of Broomfield, Colo.; and two grandchildren, Taylor Cole McClain and Joshua Daniel Frachiseur.

Mrs. McClain was a native of Decatur and had lived in Anniston 38 years before she moved to Birmingham. She worked as a stenographer for the Soil Conservation Service for 15 years. She was a member of Parker Memorial Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and the Sunbeams. She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. McClain Jr.
