Guyer

Services for Wyndell Lanier Guyer, 60, of Anniston will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory with the Rev. William Brown officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Guyer died Tuesday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Linda J. Guyer of Anniston; two daughters, Roxanna Guyer of Anniston and Daphne Guyer Waldrep of Madison, Fla.; a brother, Billy Joe Guyer of Eastaboga; and a grandchild.

Mr. Guyer was a Baptist and a truck driver for Reddy Ice.

Johnson

Services for Frank Johnson, 82, of Anniston will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Saks Baptist Church with the Rev. Daniel Harper officiating. Burial will be in Anniston Memorial Gardens with Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory in charge. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Johnson died Tuesday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Linda and Tommy Chumley of Jacksonville; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Johnson was a native of Virginia and had lived in Calhoun County most of his life. He was an Army veteran and a member of Saks Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials can be made to the Saks Baptist Church Building Fund.

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas

Services for Charles E. Kadle, 88, of New Braunfels, formerly of Jacksonville, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Crematory with Jim Harrington officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Kadle died Monday in New Braunfels.

OXFORD

Services for Pearl Bolt Knight, 91, of Oxford will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory with the Rev. Jerry Bolt officiating. Burial will be in Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends 5-7 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Knight died Wednesday at Jacksonville Health and Rehabilitation.

Survivors include two brothers, Robert Lloyd Bolt of Oxford and Idus Lonnie Bolt of Eugene, Ore.; a sister, Ellen Phillips of Oxford, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Knight was a native of Randolph County and had lived in Oxford about 50 years. She was a resident of Jacksonville Health and Rehabilitation. She was retired from Anniston Army Depot and a member of Harvest Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cullman Knight; and her parents, Dave and Nina Bolt.

Services for Charles F. Lewis, 70, of Talladega will be announced by Usrey Funeral Home.

Mr. Lewis died Wednesday at Citizens Baptist Medical Center.

Parks

WADLEY

Services for Lois Lemerle Parks, 86, of Wadley will be today at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer Methodist Church with the Rev. Ray Dunn officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge. The body will be at the church 15 minutes prior to services.

Mrs. Parks died Tuesday at Citizens Baptist Medical Center in Talladega.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Parks was a native of Chambers County and a former resident of Detroit and Lanett. She was employed by West Point Pepperell and was a member of Ebenezer Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Urzell Parks; and her parents, John Henry and Alpha Bertha Jarrell Looser.

Sexton

TALLADEGA

Services for Vada Bessie Merle Sexton, 84, of Talladega will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home with the Revs. Allen Layton, Roger Young and Allen Jinks officiating. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1-9 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sexton died Tuesday in Cleburne County.

Survivors include two daughters, Mavis LaJoyce Gross of Parrish, Fla. and Wilma Adams of Talladega; two sons, Hugo Sexton Jr. of Talladega and Frank Sexton of Ozark, 24 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Sexton was born in Clay County and had lived in Talladega County most of her life. She was a member of and a Sunday school teacher at Providence Baptist Church. She was a member of the Women's Missionary Union and was a volunteer at Samaritan House. She was retired from Palm Beach Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugo Sexton; and two children, Byron Young and Imogene Champion.

Tompkins

ROANOKE

Services for Willie Frank Tompkins, 84, of Roanoke will be today at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Roanoke with Dr. Douglas Turner officiating. Burial will be in Cedarwood Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mrs. Tompkins died Wednesday at her home.

Survivors include her husband, Byron Tompkins of Roanoke; a brother and sister-in-law, Hardy and Carolyn Sudduth Hendon of Roanoke; and a nephew, Tommy Hendon.

Mrs. Tompkins was a native of Randolph County and the daughter of Jim Frank and Bernice Irene Hardy Hendon. She was a schoolteacher with Roanoke City Schools and a member of First Baptist Church of Roanoke.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Roanoke, Christian Life Center, 827 Main St., Roanoke, AL 36274.

Services for Geraldine West, 57, of Oxford will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Brown and Kughn Memory Chapel with Brooks Boyd officiating. Burial will be in Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. West died Tuesday.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph T. West Jr. of Oxford; a son, Michael Kim West of Eastaboga; three sisters, Lucille Clanton of Boaz and Earline McMillian and Mary Jo Mathis, both of Anniston; two brothers, James Mosley of Boaz and Troy Mosley of Oxford; a special nephew, Michael Keith Mosley; a special great-niece, Madison Mosley; a special great-nephew, Mason Screws, and many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mrs. West was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County and a member of the Oxford Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine and Lonnie Mosley; three brothers, Allen Mosley, J.B. Mosley and Leon Mosley; and a sister, Dorothy Liner.

Woodgett

CHILDERSBURG

Services for George Franklin "Bud" Woodgett, 74, of Childersburg will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary in Talladega with the Rev. Johnny F. McKinney officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery.

Mr. Woodgett died Saturday at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham.

Survivors include his children, two sisters, two brothers, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Woodgett attended Westside High School in Talladega and was a World War II Army veteran. He was retired from Kimberly Clark Corporation. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Woodgett and Mary Hanley Woodgett; three brothers and three sisters.

Services for Edward Lee Gay, 60, of Heflin will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Dryden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Gay died Saturday at his home.

Goggins

MERIDIAN, Miss.

Graveside services for Joyce L. Goggins, 71, of Meridian, Miss. will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Meridian with Rev. Jeff Hancock officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 9-10:45 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home.

Mrs. Goggins died Friday at Rush Hospital in Meridian.

Survivors include five daughters, Sandra Wigington, Patricia Moore, Jerrie Kilgore, Cathey Pierce and Donna Lite, all of Anniston; three sons, Roland Kilgore, John Kilgore and Jeff Kilgore, all of Anniston; and five grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.

Services for Owen Isaac Gunn, 75, of Anniston will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Brown & Kughn Memory Chapel with Rev. Jerry Starling officiating. Burial will be in Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends 5-7 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Gunn died Saturday.

Survivors include a wife, Elizabeth B. Gunn of Anniston; two daughters, Ann Stevens of Birmingham and Janet Rainwater of Jacksonville; a stepdaughter, Jana Burroughs of Los Angeles; a stepson, Rusty Burroughs of Jacksonville; two sisters, Sadie Moore of Marietta, Ga., and Kathleene Wheeler of Decatur, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Rusty Burroughs, Dr. Alvin Stevens, Jason Rainwater, Destin Matos, Diamond Matos and Bill Bryan. Honorary pallbearer will be Harold W. Rainwater.

Mr. Gunn was a Georgia native and had resided in Calhoun County most of his life. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Oxford and the Bob Stewart Sunday School Class. Mr. Gunn was formerly a member of Northside Baptist Church of Anniston, and he worked with Anniston Water Pipe for 25 years. He served as president of the Tuesday night Support Group and was a member of the AMA Club. Mr. Gunn was the owner and operator of Vision 12 Eyeglasses. He was preceded in death by two sons, Roger W. Gunn and Owen Isaac Gunn Jr.

Mallard

Services for Nettie Green Mallard, 86, of Anniston will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Gray Brown Service Chapel with Rev. Billy L. Harris officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Jacksonville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to the service.

Mrs. Mallard died Saturday at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include five sons, Ben H. Green of Kentucky, Billy R. Green of Anniston, Bobby C. Green, W.H. "Hank" Green and Tim W. Green, all of Jacksonville; a daughter, Frances G. Doss of Anniston; 12 grandsons; five granddaughters, 19 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Mallard was a resident of Jacksonville for most of her life and had resided in Anniston for 26 years. She was a member of Parker Memorial Baptist Church, where she was in the Gertrude Bell Sunday School Class and the Women's Mission Union. Mrs. Mallard was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her first husband, W. Henry Green; and her second husband, Ralph N. Mallard.
