Moore

JACKSONVILLE

Services for Felix Moore, 72, of Jacksonville will be today at 2 p.m. at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church with Rev. George Truss officiating. Burial will be in Anniston Memorial Garden. The body will be at the church one hour prior to services.

Mr. Moore died Friday at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include a wife, Katherine Moore of Jacksonville; two daughters, Henrietta Thomas of Jacksonville and Peggy Butts of Rome, Ga.; two sisters, Fannie Ellington of Fayetteville, Ga., and Melinda Wiggins of Weaver; two brothers, George Moore of Anniston and Freddy Moore of Ohatchee; two grandchildren, Eric Thomas of Anniston and Patrina Gilder of Phenix City; and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Moore was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. He was retired from Union Foundry and was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville.

Smith

Services for Lowell D. Smith, 64, of Anniston will be today at 3 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Harper officiating. Burial will be in Anniston memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Smith died Friday at Northeast Alabama regional Medical center.

Survivors include a wife, Mary F. Smith of Anniston; a son, John L. Smith and his wife, Greta, of Hartselle; a daughter, Nanita Kim Smith and her fiancée, Tim R. Surrett of Anniston; four grandchildren, Jessica Lynn Smith, Katie Elizabeth Smith, Michelle Lee Smith and John "Josh" Lowell Smith Jr.; three sisters, Mary S. Sides of Anniston, Ruby S. Page of Alexandria and Evelyn S. Weller of Anniston; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Wendell Reid, Don Magnum, L.V. Summerlin, A.D. Shaw, Donald Brooks and Charles Godwin.

Mr. Smith was a member of Saks Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Saks Baptist Church Building Fund. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Edd L. and Katie Rogers Smith; a brother, Raymond J. Smith; and a sister, Margaret Jewel Smith.

Services for Raymond Frank Turner, 71, of Lincoln will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the New Bethel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home.

Mr. Turner died Friday at his home.

Twyman

TALLADEGA

Services for Ruth D. Twyman, 49, 4503 Howell Coves Road will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Kingston Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Cornelius Brown III officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.

Ms. Twyman died Wednesday at her home.

Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Evans and Belinda Twyman, both of Talladega; four sisters, Addie Morris of Sylacauga, Dessi Garrett, Sharlie Garrett and Essie McMeans, all of Alpine; five brothers, Willie Duncan of Sylacauga, Hamp Duncan of Columbus, Ohio; Joe Duncan, John Duncan and Cleveland Garrett, all of Alpine; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ms. Twyman's nephews, and flowerbearers will be her nieces.

Ms. Twyman was a member of Kingston Missionary Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Wehadkee Yarn Mills. She was preceded in death by her parents, Zack Garrett, Nadia M. Duncan and Luther Duncan; five brothers; and four sisters.

Services for Gloria J. Brooks, 61, of Anniston will be announced by Anniston Funeral Service.

Mrs. Brooks died Monday at Regional Medical Center.

Brown

JACKSONVILLE

Services for Elmar Douglas Brown, 81, of Jacksonville will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Westside Baptist Church with Rev. Truman Norred officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Crematory in charge. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Brown died Sunday in Gadsden.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy M. Brown; a daughter and her husband, Diane and Larry Heaton of Beaufort, S.C.; a sister, Annie Hall of Jacksonville; three grandchildren, Ben Heaton, Mark Heaton and Luke Heaton, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be deacons of Westside Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men's Bible Class of Westside Baptist Church.

Mr. Brown was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He was a member and a deacon of Westside Baptist Church. He was a World War II veteran and a Purple Heart recipient. He was active with the Masonic Lodge.

Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to Westside Baptist Church, 713 West Mt. Ave., Jacksonville, AL 36265.

Daniel

HATTIESBURG, Miss.

Services for retired Air Force Tech. Sgt. George W. Daniel, 79, of Hattiesburg will be today at 11 a.m. at Parkway Heights United Methodist Church with Revs. Willis Britt and Bernard R. Walton officiating. A family testimony will be presented by his grandson, Rev. George James. Burial will be in Roseland Park Cemetery with full military honors and Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Daniel died Saturday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Mollis S. Daniel of Hattiesburg; two daughters, Beverly C. West and Jennifer R. James, both of Hattiesburg; five sisters, Lorene Davis and Leola Brown, both of Woodland, Jewel Czik and Era Hill, both of Roanoke and Eris Stevens of Bowdon, Ga., eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Daniel was a native of Woodland and was the son of the late Marcus L. and Lucy Bryant Daniel. He attended Woodland High School and was an Army World War II veteran, serving with the 379th Infantry. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star and retired from the Air Force in 1969. He was a life member of American Legion Post 24 and VFW Post 3036. He was also retired from Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg and was an active member Parkway Heights United Methodist Church.

Fuller

FRANKLIN, Ga.

Services for Lottie Louise Fuller, 76, of Franklin will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Home in Roanoke with Rev. Gerald Sheppard officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 3-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Fuller died Monday at her home.

Survivors include her husband, Harvey Chris Fuller of Franklin; a sister, Lovie Calhoun of Rock Mills; two brothers, James Burks of Rock Mills and Pete Burks of Roanoke; a special friend, Archie Pike of Rock Mills, and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Gene Burks, Randy Hudson, Richard Hand, Chad Galloway, Lamar Hand and Jackie Burks. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Henderson, Mike Smith and Fred Dubose.

Mrs. Fuller was a native of Randolph County and was the daughter of Ed and Dovie Chasteen Burks. She had been employed at Wehadkee Yarn Mills and retired as co-owner of Fuller Package Store. She was Baptist. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Hendricks and Mozelle Hudson; and two brothers, Paul Burks and Hoyt Burks.

Garrett

LINEVILLE

Services for Otis Garrett, 71, of Lineville will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at St. Campbell Baptist Church in Alpine with Revs. Richard Fair, Raymond Garrett and Clinert Staples officiating. Burial will be in St. Campbell Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 3 p.m. today at Garrett's Funeral Home in Lineville and after 3 p.m. Wednesday at Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary in Talladega. The body will be at the church two hours prior to services.

Mr. Garrett died Thursday in Anniston.

Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Sandra and Ronald Scott of Apple Valley, Calif., Peggy and Michael Wilson of Northridge, Calif. and Phyllis and Cleon Wiggins of Warrensburg, Mo.; a son, Larry Delaine Garrett of Alpine; three sisters, Rosie Mae Moore, Kathleen Curry and Louis McGhee, all of Talladega; four brothers, Obie L. Garrett, Herman M. Garrett, Grady Garrett and Edward Garrett, all of Alpine; seven grandchildren, Indya Toussant, Ajah Austin, Rodelyn Scott, Constance Scott, Javin Scott, Dante' Wiggins and Marc Wiggins; and three great-grandchildren, Deveion Toussant, Cennedi Toussant and Telyn Stewart.

Pallbearers will be members of the Alabama Funeral Directors and Morticians Association and deacons of St. Campbell Baptist Church.

Mr. Garrett was the owner of Garrett's Funeral Home in Lineville and a member of the Alabama Funeral Directors and Morticians Association, the Clay County Chamber of Commerce, the Spiritual Singers Association. AmVets Post 25 and the Clay County Drug Education Program. He was retired after 29 years of service from Kimberly Clark Corp. and was an Army veteran. He was a deacon at St. Campbell Baptist Church.
