Smith

ARAB

Graveside Services for Hester Ledbetter Smith, 90, of Arab will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Edgemont Cemetery in Anniston with Dr. Paul Murphy officiating and Gober Funeral Chapel of Arab in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Gober Funeral Chapel in Arab.

Mrs. Smith died Saturday at Arab Nursing Home.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol Jean Smith of Montgomery and Claudette Smith of Arab, and two sisters, Hildegard Hoyt of Auburn and Louise Doss of Alexander City.

Mrs. Smith formerly worked in retail sales for Smith Distributing Co. She was a member of Arab First Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Girl Scouts of North Alabama, Inc., 4704 Whitesburg Drive South, Huntsville, AL, 35802; or to Arab First Baptist Church, 502 North Main Street, Arab, AL., 35016.

Thomas

Services for Mary Thomas, 52, of Anniston will be today at 3 p.m. at Deliverance Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic with Bishop V.A. Black officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Gilead Church Cemetery in Newell. The body will be at the church an hour prior to the service.

Ms. Thomas died Tuesday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include a sister, Mary Thornton of Oxford; and two brothers, Willie Thomas and Horace Thomas, both of Anniston.

Tolbert

Services for Ola Tolbert, 90, of Anniston will be Monday at 2 p.m. at West Anniston Church of God with Revs. Hubert Ford and Harl Skipper officiating. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary tonight from 6 to 9 p.m.

Mrs. Tolbert died Saturday at Regional Medical Center.

Williams

TALLADEGA

Services for Jeraldine Williams, 73, of Talladega will be Tuesday at noon at First AME Church in Columbus, Ohio with Rev. Vincent T. Frosh officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight at 6 p.m. at Terry's Mortuary.

Mrs. Williams died Thursday at Montclair Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham.

Survivors include two daughters, Janice Swain of Talladega and Beverly Williams of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Pinky Williams of Waukegan, Ill. and Margaret Hocker of Cincinnati; three brothers, Leon Garrett, James Garrett and John T. Garrett, all of Alpine; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Keith

TALLADEGA

Services for Bobbie Lucille Glover Keith, 65, of Talladega will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Sycamore Baptist Church with Dr. Jesse Montgomery Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sims Funeral Services in charge. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Keith died Saturday at Citizen's Baptist Medical Center.

Survivors include her father, Randle Glover of Talladega; two sons, Willie Carter and John Eddie Carter, both of Talladega; three daughters, Brenda Jackson, Barbara Diane Carter, both of Talladega and Shirley Grace of Irmo, S.C.; three sisters, Mary Cheely of Greenville, Ga., Naomi Ragland of Lithonia, Ga. and Carolyn Taylor of Atlanta; two brothers, Willie C. Glover of Talladega and Robert C. Miller of Alpine; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Mrs. Glover was preceded in death by her husband, mother and a sister.

PIEDMONT

Services for Mrs. Mildred Kelly, 90, of Piedmont will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Mickelsen-McGee Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Whites Gap Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Kelly died Monday at Piedmont Health Care.

McDaniel

ROANOKE

Services for Douglas Shellie "Bud" McDaniel, 66, of Roanoke will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bobby Kirby officiating. Burial will follow at the Potash Cemetery. The family will receive friends today at Quattlebaum Funeral Home 3-9 p.m.

Mr. McDaniel died Monday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Melvina McDaniel of Eclectic; two sisters, Nancy Hunt and Blanch Brown, both of Roanoke; two brothers, Bob McDaniel of Ashburn, Ga., and Horace McDaniel of Roanoke; five step-daughters, Diane Leonard and Jo Ann Hamlin, both of Fort Worth, Texas, and Billie Ann Frye, Debra Ann Spears and Patricia Ann Harvel, all of Roanoke; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild as well as several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be his nephews.

Mr. McDaniel was born in Randolph County to. He worked for the Roanoke Utilities Board. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Shellie and Laura Mulkey McDaniel and a sister, Peggy Faye McDaniel.

Services for Charles H. Smith, 71, will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with Drs. C.O. Grinstead and Dan Burrell officiating. The family will receive friends today 6-8 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith died Sunday at his home.

Survivors include his wife Mary F. "Dolly" Smith of Oxford; a son and his wife, Richard A. and Cindy Smith of Charlotte, N.C.; five daughters, Lynn M. Johnston and her husband, Jerry, and Julie L. Sherman and her husband, Steve, all of Oxford, Charlene Smith, Luann Dawson, and Linda Ingold, all of Pittsburgh; two brothers Emmanuel Smith of Pittsburgh, and John Smith of Jacksonville, Fla.; five sisters, Patricia Frantz of Lawrenceville, N.J., Susan Sites, Carol Smith, and Deloris Bliel, all of Pittsburgh, Mary Lou Rocca of Jacksonville, Fla.; and eight grandchildren, Rebekah Smith, Heather Smith, Amy Johnston, Julie Johnston, Stephanie Sherman, Jared Johnson, Nathan Sherman and Kayla Sherman.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Smith, Dan Dwire, Tony Bolton, Tom Figliolia, Brandon Osborne and Emmanuel Smith.

Mr. Smith has been an Oxford resident for four years after moving from Leesburg, Fla. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Heidi Johnston.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the East Alabama Hospice, P.O. Box 2581, Anniston, AL 36202.

Tuggle

COOK SPRINGS

Services for Virgie Valeria Tuggle, 93, of Cook Springs, formerly of Pell City, will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Pell City with Rev. Bill Ayers officiating. Burial will follow at St. Clair Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends today 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Tuggle died Monday at the Medical Center East in Birmingham.

Survivors include a daughter Lela Nadine Wells and her husband, Bob, of Sacramento, Ky.; a son, Billy Eugene "Gene" Tuggle and his wife, Lee, of Pell City; a sister Kay "Eva" Guthrie of Dayton, Ohio; four grandchildren, Gary Tuggle, Sandra Bergquist, Lynda Leonard and Judy Wells; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Tuggle was a native of Kentucky and a resident of Cook Springs for the past five years. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Crockett Tuggle; a sister and four brothers.

WHITE PLAINS

Graveside services for Lillian O. Weems, 81, of White Plains will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Forestlawn Gardens with Rev. Bill Murray officiating. The family will receive friends today 6-9 p.m. at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory.

Mrs. Weems died Monday at the Cleburne County Nursing Home.

Survivors include a son, Paul Weems of Anniston; a daughter, Sara Turner of DeArmanville; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Weems was a member of the East Heflin Baptists Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.D. Weems; two daughters, Jeanette Hinton and Beatrice Story; two grandsons, two great-grandsons and her parents, Mabel and John Osborn.

Welch

Services for Myrtle T. Welch, 87, of Anniston will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory Chapel. Burial will follow at Edgemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends today 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Welch died Sunday at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include a son, Fred Eugene Welch of Georgia; two daughters, Charlotte Oliver of Weaver and Sharon Shears of Anniston; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Welch was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County and a member of the First Baptist Church of Anniston. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Sue Welch and a son, Jerry Welch.
