Foster

Graveside services for Margaret G. Foster, 102, of Anniston will be today at 11 a.m. at Edgemont Cemetery with Dr. Billy Harris officiating. The family will receive friends today 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory.

Mrs. Foster died Saturday at her residence.

Survivors include a son, J. Donald Foster of Anniston; and 11 nieces and three nephews.

Pallbearers will be Rick Jennings, Guy McCullouch, Herb Griffin, Warren Reed, Paul Trammell, and Guy Blake.

Mrs. Foster was the oldest living member of Parker Memorial Baptist Church. For 37 years she worked at Broadnax Drug, where she was a clerk. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank L. Foster.

Memorials may be made to Parker Memorial Baptist Church, P.O. Box 2104, Anniston, AL 36202.

Freeman

HEFLIN

Service for Evelyn Louise Freeman, 65, of Heflin will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Five Points Baptist Church. Visitation will be tonight 6-8 p.m. at Dryden Funeral Home.

Mrs. Freeman died Saturday in Heflin.

Complete arrangements will be announced by the funeral home.

McElrath

RAGLAND

Services for Jewel B. McElrath, 79, of Ragland will be today at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Ragland with Rev. Edwin Talley and Billy Bean officiating. Burial will be at Box Cemetery.

Mrs. McElrath died Saturday in Ragland.

Survivors include three daughters, Martha Hartselle of Huntsville, Carol Jean McElrath of Rainbow City and Belinda Thrasher of Calera; four sisters, Ernestine Bishop and her husband, Lloyd, of Adamsville, Ellen Inez Adams and her husband, Lloyd, of Whites Chapel, Vera Jo Morris of Gadsden and Gerry Ricketts and her husband, W.F., of Birmingham; a brother, John White of Texas; eight grandchildren, Buddy Hartselle, Lynne Poston, Larry Hartselle, Mark Hartselle, Jason Rother, Shane DeYoung, Leah Thrasher and BeGail DeYoung; seven great-grandchildren; and a companion, Jerry Sue Brannon of Ragland.

Born in Whites Chapel, Mrs. McElrath lived in Cherokee and Etowah Counties before moving to Ragland nine years ago. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ragland and a former member of Rainbow City Presbyterian Church. Mrs. McElrath enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking and fishing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis H. McElrath, and a daughter, Marjo DeYoung.

Richardson

ROANOKE

Services for Vera Wood Richardson, 91, of Roanoke will be today at 1 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jonathan Randall officiating. The eulogy will be delivered by Mrs. Judy Randall. Burial will follow at Potash Church of God Cemetery.

Mrs. Richardson died Saturday at Opelika Health Care Center.

Survivors include five daughters, Lurline Cole and Myrtle Heard, both of Roanoke, Jewell Fisher of Zebulon, Ga., Diane Terry of Phenix City and Judy Randall of Gloverville, S.C.; four sons, Flay Richardson of Rome, Ga., and Sherrel Richardson, Hershal Richardson and Jimmy Richardson, all of Roanoke; a sister, Ieelene Harmon of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Horace Wood of Pensacola, Fla.; 30 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Mrs. Richardson was a homemaker and a member of Handley Avenue Church of God. Born to Milton Andrew and Nancy Mulkey Wood, she lived in Randolph County all her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kaylor Levi Richardson, and two sons, Marion Richardson and Ray Richardson.

Stephens

DELTA

Services for Bobby Franklin Stephens, 47, of Delta will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Mount Moriah Baptist Church with Revs. Pete Haynes and Curtis Beculhimeir officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight 6:30-9 p.m. and on Tuesday until service time at Benefield Funeral Home of Lineville.

Mr. Stephens died Saturday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Stephens of Delta; three daughters, Stacey Stephens and Machelle Clarke, both of Delta, and Tequila Corbett of Boaz; two sons, Dewayne Gaddy of Saks and William Stephens of Coldwater; a sister, Teresa Presley of Jacksonville; a brother, Arvin Stephens of Five Points; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be friends.

A Cleburne County native, Mr. Stephens had lived in Delta for the past 17 years. He worked for Agri-South and was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church. He was the son of Orion Robert "Bob" and Velma Beason Stephens.

Tolbert

Services for Ola Tolbert, 90, of Anniston will be today at 2 p.m. at West Anniston Church of God with Revs. Hubert Ford and Harl Skipper and Barbara Skipper officiating. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Tolbert died Saturday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include a sister, Ester Rogers of Anniston; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Rudy Hamby, James Coley, Clifton Hale, Robert Kitchens, Jimmy Turner and Ray Brannon.

Mrs. Tolbert was the oldest living member of West Anniston Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse G. Tolbert; her parents, Ira Webb Baker and Hattie Gowens Baker, four sisters and three brothers.

Bean

JACKSONVILLE

Services for Billy Bean, 69, of Jacksonville and Delta will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Wesley Chapel Christian Church with The Revs. Gordon Taylor and Zenus Windsor officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Lineville in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services. The family will receive friends 5:30-8 tonight and until one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Bean died Tuesday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Akemi Crowe of Jacksonville; three daughters, Vicki Goodson of Anniston, Sheena Bell of Heflin and Kim Latimer of Elizabethtown, Ky.; four sons, Terry Bean, Mike Bean and Keith Bean, all of Delta and Kenneth J. Crowe of Jacksonville; three sisters, Audrey Jones of Suwanee, Ga., Joan Cox of Thomasville, Ga. and Ann Hughes of Highlands, Calif.; three brothers, Braxton Bean of Childersburg, Shearl Bean of Huntsville and Don Shephard of Ashland; 15 grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Bean was a native of Randolph County and had lived most of his life in Clay and Calhoun counties. He was an Army veteran and had received a Purple Heart during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign War and was a Christian.

LINEVILLE

Services for Lonnie Mae Carter, 82, of Lineville will be announced by Garrett Funeral Home.

Mrs. Carter died Wednesday at Lineville Nursing Facility.

Gann

Services for Orga Eugene Gann, 65, of Anniston will be today at 2 p.m. at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory with The Rev. Jonathan Pate officiating. Burial will be in Anniston Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Gann died Monday.

Survivors include six sons, Donald E. Gann of Ragland, Terry Randy Gann, Ronald Lee Gann, James Edward Gann and Orga Timothy Gann, all of Pell City and Michael Lane Gann of Odenville; his mother, Irene Gann of Anniston; five sisters, Etta Ward of Kingsport, Tenn., Fay Simmons and Helen Strickland, both of Anniston, Margie Magouirk of Weaver and Rachel Honeycutt of Acworth, Ga.; two brothers, Albert Gann and Raymond Gann, both of Anniston, and eight grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Harold Magouirk, Reid Simmons, Gary Simmons, Joe Simmons, Bucky Sorrell and Edgar Simmons.

Mr. Gann was a lifelong resident of Anniston and was retired from Union Yarn. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Orga Gann, and a grandchild, Katie Fay Gann.

Griffitt

SYLACAUGA

Services for William Lee Griffitt, 73, of Sylacauga will be today at 11 a.m. at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega with The Revs. Mike Buttram, Harold Bannister and Danny Bannister officiating. Burial will be in Hepzibah Cemetery.

Mr. Griffitt died Tuesday.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbie J. Griffitt of Childersburg; three daughters, Judy Parris of Anniston and Patricia Wesson and Susan Garrigus, both of Childersburg; two sons, Gerald Griffitt and Frank Griffitt, both of Sylacauga; two stepdaughters, Lois Satterwhite and Peggy Bannister, both of Talladega; two stepsons, Danny Bannister and Harold Bannister, both of Talladega; two sisters, Mary Esther Davis of Childersburg and Barbara Lee of Sylacauga; two brothers, Ralph Griffitt of Childersburg and Harold Griffitt of Sylacauga; 25 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Michael Parris, Clint Parris, Frank Griffitt, James Bassett, Thomas Smith and John Robbs. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Robbs, Howard Williams, Sammy Graham, Willie Matson, P.L. Elliot, Greg Griffitt, Bob Houston and Bill Hall.

Mr. Griffitt was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega County. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Sylacauga and was a Navy World War II veteran. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4261 and the American Legion Post 17. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Marie Burford Griffitt; a brother, Donnie Griffitt; and a stepdaughter, Brenda Bannister.
