Smart

Services for Lillian Smart of Anniston will be announced by Miller Funeral Home in Oxford.

Mrs. Smart died Thursday at her home.

Stockdale

Services for Doris Stockdale, 71, of Anniston will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses with Ralph Turner officiating. Burial will be in Eden Hills Cemetery with Ervin Funeral Chapel in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mrs. Stockdale died Tuesday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include her husband, Jesse Stockdale Sr. of Anniston; three daughters, Patricia Smith, Vicki Lynn Kelly and Wendy Matthews; two sons, Jesse Stockdale Jr. and Titus Stockdale; a brother, Thomas Blount, nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kirby Devampert, Gary Castlebury, Darrell Kirby, Samuel Dade, Chase Tinney and Ronnie Helms.

Swann

LEBANON, Tenn.

Memorial services for Sue Ashley Swann, 63, of Lebanon, formerly of Anniston, will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy in Saks with Mike Holcombe and Mike Hollingsworth officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.

Ms. Swann died Nov. 24.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Charles Eric and Wendy D. Swann of Anniston; five sisters, Libby Waldrop of Manchester, Ga., Sara Ponder of Anniston, Alice Chadwick of Helen, Ga., Sylvia Worrell of Saks and Linda Crawford of Birmingham; a brother, William L. Ashley of Oxford; two grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Swann and Shelby Sue Swann, and several nieces and nephews.

Ms. Swann was a native of Anniston and had worked for Bowman Transportation for 19 years. She was a member of Golden Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jeffie Webster Ashley and Eunice Ophelia Ashley; and a sister, JoAnn Grammer.

Nellie Mae Weaver, 88, of Anniston died Thursday at Beckwood Manor. Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory is in charge.

LINCOLN

Services for Susie James Wilson, 64, of Lincoln will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Baptist Church with Rev. Everett Kelly officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Sims Funeral Service in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mrs. Wilson died Monday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include a daughter, Veronica Green of Lincoln; two aunts, Elizabeth Watkins of Birmingham and Ethel Sterling of Delta; and a grandchild, Bianca Green.

Pallbearers will be Clarence Green, Eugene Green, Herman Hunter, Willie Hunter, Charles George and Vance Curry.

Borders

Services for Ira "Arrie" F. Borders, 91, of Anniston will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory. Burial will be in Edgemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Borders died Friday at Beverly Health Care Center in Oxford.

Survivors include a daughter, Merlene Jennings of Anniston; a son, Kenneth Borders of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren, Linda Reaves, Lynn Merry, Greg McCluskey, Richie Nabors, Shannon Borders, Scottie Borders and Brian Borders; a stepgrandchild, Peter J. Straub, nine great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Reaves, Jeremy Butler, Brian Borders, Donald Reaves, Richie Nabors and Greg McCluskey.

Mrs. Borders was a member of World of Life Tabernacle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther J. Borders; two daughters, Margaret Bowman and Josephine "Jo" Nabors; a son, Orville "Bud" Borders; and three brothers, a sister and three grandchildren.

Chandler

SAKS

Services for Horace Edward Chandler, 74, of Saks will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Saks Baptist Church with Revs. Daniel Harper and Gary Ragsdale officiating. Burial will be in Forestlawn Gardens with Chapel Hill Funeral Home in charge. The body will be at the church 30 minutes prior to services. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Chandler died Friday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy S. Chandler of Saks; three sons and their wives, Bobby Joe and Phyllis Chandler of Anniston and Stephen Kyle and Janice Chandler and Tony and Donna Hall, all of Alexandria; his mother, Lennie M. Chandler of Anniston; a daughter and her husband, Karen and Alan Needham of Alexandria; seven grandchildren, Jeff Chandler, Todd Chandler, Crystal Chandler, Brittany Chandler, Kayla Chandler, Kelly Hall and Alana Needham; a sister-in-law, Cleo Chandler; two great-grandchildren, Dalton Chandler and Mandy Chandler; and a niece, Debbie Hendricks.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Chandler, Todd Chandler, Donald Honeycutt, Keith Sexton, Darrell Sexton and Buddy Smith.

Mr. Chandler was a native of Cleburne County and had lived in Saks the past 51 years. He was retired from Anniston Army Depot and the owner of Saks Motors. He was member of Saks Baptist Church, the University of Alabama Tide Pride, the Red Elephant Club and the Anniston Quarterback Club. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny T. Chandler, and a brother, Cecil H. Chandler.

Davis

HUEYTOWN

Graveside services for Lillian June Wright Woodall Davis, 78, of Hueytown will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Patterson Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home in Hueytown.

Mrs. Davis died Wednesday.

Survivors include four sons, Allen E. Woodall of Hueytown, James Henry Woodall of Oxford, Johnny Wesley Woodall of Calera and Jerry Lee Woodall of Jacksonville, Fla.; four daughters, Judy Ann Hall of Weaver, Donna Joyce Sims of Rome, Ga., Jayne Mae South of Bessemer and Jackie Vernell Walker of Chattanooga, Tenn.; three sisters, Mildred Wright Mitchell of Irondale, Betty Jo Wright Cone of Fredericksburg, Texas and Willie Mae Wright DeSpain of Cleveland, Texas; a brother, Billie Andrew Wright of Huffman, Texas, 17 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by a sister, Emma Lee Wright Clark, and a brother, Henry H. Wright.

Guthrie

Services for Cecil Guthrie of Anniston will be Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Forestlawn Mausoleum with Revs. O.V. Sewell and Jerry Irwin officiating and Miller Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends two hours prior to service time at the mausoleum.

Mr. Guthrie died Thursday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Carlisle Guthrie of Anniston; three daughters, Donna Guthrie of Ohatchee, Sandra Moon of Anniston and Pat Bussey of Weaver; a brother, Frank Guthrie of Alexandria; a sister, Vera G. Robertson of Weaver, eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Taylor, Bill Hardin, Gene Bussey, Chuck Bussey, David Guthrie and Owen Guthrie. Honorary pallbearers will be the Senior Adults of Harvest Church of God.

Mr. Guthrie was preceded in death by a son, Gary C. Guthrie; a daughter, Linda Morgan; and seven brothers, Wilson Guthrie, Gray Guthrie, Douglas Guthrie, Vernon Guthrie, Billy L. Guthrie, Calvin Guthrie and Roy Guthrie.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice of East Alabama or the Harvest Church of God Building Fund.

Harmon

TALLADEGA

Services for Lela Tillery Harmon, 71, of Talladega will be today at 1 p.m. at Talladega Funeral Home with Revs. Charlie Bolt and Paul Lett officiating. Burial will be in Midway Cemetery.

Mrs. Harmon died Wednesday at Baptist Medical Center-Montclair in Birmingham.

Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Thomas of Lincoln; two sons, Alvin Harmon of Riverside and Jackie Harmon of Pell City; four sisters, Alline Bates, Lucille Simpson, Mildred Mullins and Mittie Johnson, all of Talladega; two brothers, William Tillery and Jimmy Tillery, both of Talladega; an aunt, Mozelle Johnson of Talladega, and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Allen Peek, Bob Kemp, Roscoe Parker, John Waites, Tyler Waites and Larry Dalton.

Mrs. Harmon had lived in Talladega most of her life. She was a member of Cherry Street Church of God and was retired from Bemiston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theo Harmon, and a son, Leo Harmon.

HEFLIN

Services for Lillar Houston of Heflin will be today at 11 a.m. at Union Hill Chapel Church in Woodland with Rev. Edward Turner officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery with Ervin Funeral Chapel in charge.

Mrs. Houston died Thursday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include four daughters, Mertis Baker, Lynn Baker, Catherine Baker and Sarah Akles, all of Heflin; a son, Andrew Lee Houston of Atlanta; two sisters, Cora Houston of Heflin and Rosy Cheeks of Atlanta, and 20 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tamel McGibbney, Clarence Street, Terry Goggins, John C. Baker and Michael Houston.

McNatt

ASHLAND

Graveside services for Blanche Elizabeth McNatt, 95, of Ashland will be today at 1 p.m. at Ashland City Cemetery with Bruce Krause officiating and Clay County Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. McNatt died Thursday at Clay County Nursing Home.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Yates of Tallahassee, Fla.; a son, Fred McNatt Sr. of Ashland; six grandchildren, Neill Fred McNatt Jr., Deborah Kay Platt, Norman Fraser McNatt, Keith Frank Platt, Noreen Fay McNatt Salmon and Susan Elizabeth Platt Rady, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Keith Platt, Fred McNatt Jr., Norman McNatt, Fraser McNatt, Gavin McNatt and Gary Rady.

Mrs. McNatt was a native of Cross Pointe, Quebec, Canada and a former resident of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. She had lived in Ashland several years. She was a homemaker and a Catholic. She was preceded in death by her husband, Neill Dobbin McNatt, and a grandchild, Nancy Faith McNatt.
