Green

WOODLAND

Services for Arnold Jackson Green, 88, of Woodland will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church with Revs. David Daniel and Tony Morris officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services. The family will receive friends 4-7 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Green died Sunday at Wedowee Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Elma Douglas Green of Woodland; a son, Pete Green of Carrollton, Ga.; five grandchildren, Douglas Green, Donna Green Snider, Dawn Green Estes, Cindy Lawler and Chris Green, 19 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Doug Green, Chris Green, Scott Snider, Jr. Whitmore, Chad Whitmore, Gene Grant, Dale Dye and Larry Wilson.

Mr. Green was a native of Randolph County and was the son of Andrew Jackson and Rilla Bedding Field Green. He was employed as a painter and a farmer and was a member of Providence Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Wendell Green.

Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to Providence Baptist Church.

Holcombe

WOODLAND

Services for Ruby Holcombe, 86, of Woodland will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church with Revs. David Daniel and Tony Morris officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services. The family will receive friends after 4:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Holcombe died Monday at Wedowee Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, Charles L. Holcombe of Woodland; a sister, Ila Spradlin of Woodland, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Morgan Cantrell, Major Cantrell Jr., Dennis Benefield, Joe Calhoun, Gary Spradlin and Joe Mack Spradlin.

Mrs. Holcombe was a lifelong resident of Randolph County and was the daughter of James Walker and Eva Fincher McDow. She was self-employed as a beautician and was a member of Providence Baptist Church.

Huff

Memorial services for George Reeder Huff, 85, of Anniston will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Brown and Kughn Memory Chapel with Rev. Jerry Reeder officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Huff died Saturday in Anniston.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jane Huff of Anniston; a daughter, Patricia Ann Stromberg of Harrisburg, Pa.; a son, Thomas Reeder Huff of Cary, N.C.; and three grandchildren, Shelly Ann O'Neal, Laura Ann Huff and Andrew Reeder Huff.

Mr. Huff was a native of Eldred, Pa., and was a 1938 graduate of Pennsylvania State University. He served in the Army Air Force in Europe as a captain in World War II. He joined Dresser Manufacturing in Bradford, Pa. in 1947 and moved to Anniston in 1970. He retired from Dresser (M&H Valve Division) in 1982 and was a Methodist.

Memorials can be made to the charity of your choice.

Services for Minnie B. Magouirk, 85, of Oxford will be announced by Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory.

Mrs. Magouirk died Monday at Regional Medical Center.

Perryman

ROANOKE

Graveside services for Fredrick Addison Perryman, 80, of Roanoke will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Lanes Chapel Church Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to service time.

Mr. Perryman died Saturday at Randolph Medical Center.

Survivors include two sisters, Geneva Tucker of Birmingham and Barbara Griffin of Corton on the Hudson, N.Y.; three brothers, Tom Perryman of Cusseta, Robin Perryman of Gadsden and Danny Perryman of Orlando, Fla.

Mr. Perryman was a native of Chambers County and was the son of the late Rube Tillman and Martha M. Crumpton Perryman. He had been employed in the textile industry and was a member of Valley First Baptist Church.

Roberson

MORTON, Miss.

Services for Charles Ronald Roberson, 59, of Morton, formerly of Clay County, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Clay County Funeral Home with Rev. David Holcombe officiating. Burial will be in Clay County Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 5:30 tonight until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Roberson died Saturday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Sue Roberson of Morton; his mother, Buna Roberson of Ashland; a son, LeWayne Roberson of Albertville; a sister, Joyce Griffin of Lineville; and a brother, Larry Roberson of Lineville.

Pallbearers will be Greg Roberts, Steve Roberts, Danny Hill, Jeff Griffin, Bart Griffin and Ralph Headrick.

Mr. Roberson was a native of Sylacauga and a former resident of Clay County. He was a welder with Steel Services in Flowood, Miss., and was a former truck driver for Colonial Freight Lines in Knoxville, Tenn.

Services for Lee Oma Smith, 85, of Roanoke will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Calhoun officiating. Burial will be in Center Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith died Monday at Beaulieu Convalescent Center in Newnan, Ga.

Survivors include two sons, Gerald Ray Smith of Newnan, Ga. and Bobby Wayne Smith of Roanoke, two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Smith was a lifelong resident of Randolph County and was the daughter of Kay and Pearlie Driver Moore. She was a homemaker and a member of Center Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Smith.

PIEDMONT

Services for Charles P. "Chuck" Stewart, 74, of Piedmont will be today at 2 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

Mr. Stewart died Sunday in Huntsville.

Survivors include a daughter and two sons-in-law, Sheryl and Mike West of Atmore and Craig Williams of Madison; a son and his wife, Wayne and Carol Patty of Arab; a brother, Kenneth Stewart of Oxford; four grandchildren, Matthew W. Patty, Jay R. Patty, JoAnna L. Patty and Stephen M. West; and three great-grandchildren, Lindsey West, Dalton Patty and Will Patty.

Pallbearers will be Matt Patty, Jay Patty, Steve West, Tracey Stewart, Scott Stewart, Jerry Stewart, H.S. Law and Stanley Dothard. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Lozahatchee Masonic Lodge 97 F&AM.

Mr. Stewart was a native and lifelong resident of Piedmont. He was a member of Dailey Street Baptist Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4263 and was a member and past master of Lozahatchee Masonic Lodge 97 F&AM. He served in both the Navy and Air Force and was a World War II veteran. He was retired from Anniston Army Depot after 35 years of federal service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Stewart; a daughter, Jan Williams; his parents, Laura and Eugene Stewart; and two brothers, Ray Stewart and Gerald Stewart.

Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, 1100 Ireland Way, Suite 201, Birmingham, AL 35205.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Stine died Monday at Regional Medical Center in Anniston.

Services for Estella Belle Tucker, 70, of Sand Rock will be today at 2 p.m. at Perry Funeral Home in Centre with Revs. Melvyn Salter and Kenneth Lasseter officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Tucker died Saturday at her home.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Phillip and Emily Tucker of Silver Creek, Ga.; seven brothers, George Curtis, Jack Curtis, John Curtis, Marion Curtis, Melvin Curtis, Marvin Curtis and Tony Curtis, all of Indiana; three sisters, Trudy Hampton of Sand Rock, Linda Hicks of Indiana and Margaret Curtis of Tennessee; a grandchild, Kelsey Tucker; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Tucker was a native of Indiana, a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, V.T. "Bo" Tucker.

Mr. Tucker was born in Glendale, Calif., and was the son of the late V.T. "Bo" and Estella Belle Curtis Tucker.
