Snow

WELLINGTON

Services for Ella Marie H. Snow, 89, of Wellington will be today at 1 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Stanley Broom officiating. Burial will be in Forestlawn Gardens.

Mrs. Snow died Tuesday at her home.

Survivors include four daughters, Ruth Forsythe of Chattanooga, Tenn., Shirley Knight of Social Circle, Ga., Jane Smith of Jacksonville and Betty Schafer of Sullivan, Mo.; five sons, Bobby Snow of Le Mesa, Calif., James Snow of Cape Fair, Mo., Ernest Snow of Cedartown, Ga., Danny Snow of Simpsonville, S.C. and Larry Snow of Wellington; one sister, Lillie Woodard of Oxford; 27 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Michael Allen, Tim Forsythe, George Forsythe, Darrell Snow, David Snow, Terry Snow, John Snow and Jason Snow.

Mrs. Snow was a native of South Carolina and had lived in Monroe, Ga., but had been a resident of Wellington for the past seven years. She was retired from Walton County Hospital. Mrs. Snow was a quilting instructor for Senior Citizens in Monroe, Ga. and a member of Wellington First Baptist Church.

Baker

TALLADEGA

Memorial services for Chester Lee Baker, 85, of Talladega will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Talladega Funeral Home with Rev. J.F. Blackerby officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Baker died Thursday his home.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Sandy and David Durham of Nashville, Tenn.; a son, Alan Baker of Talladega; a sister, Lockie McLeod of Childersburg; seven grandchildren, Brian Durham, Joanna Durham, Kristi Durham, Jason Baker, Sarah Baker, Cory Baker and Alexandra Baker; two nephews, George Baker and Al Baker; and four nieces, Pat Wilmott, Billie Hackney, Gale Parker and Brenda Garrett.

Mr. Baker was a native of Harpersville and had lived in Sylacauga before moving to Talladega. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Talladega and was retired from Coosa Valley Electric Company after 41 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ceylon Baker.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the East Alabama Hospice.

Services for Minnie W. Ball, 84, of Anniston will be announced by Ervin Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Ball died Thursday at Regional Medical Center.

Caldwell

MARIETTA, Ga.

Services for Mechiel Culver Caldwell, 42, of Marietta, formerly of Bynum, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory with Rev. Winston Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Bynum. The family will receive friends two hours prior to service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Ms. Caldwell died Wednesday in Marietta.

Survivors include a brother, Butch Culver of Anniston; a sister, Terri Baity of LaGrange, Ga.; and a niece, Brianna Baity.

Pallbearers will be cousins.

Ms. Caldwell was a former resident of Bynum and had lived in Marietta for two years.

Crump

LEEDS

Services for James Buell "J.B." Crump, 78, of Leeds, formerly of Coal City, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Pell City. Burial will be in St. Clair Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Crump died Thursday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Ira Crump of Leeds; a daughter and her husband, Paula and Garry Armstrong of Leeds; two sons and a daughter-in-law, James B. "Butch" Crump of Moody and Tim and Carolyn Crump of Cullman; four sisters, Susie Mae Brown, Carolyn Cosper and Elizabeth McNutt, all of Pell City and Mary Patton of Moody; two brothers, Ferrell Crump of Talladega and Sam Crump of Pell City, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Crump was a native of Coal City, where he lived most of his life. He was a 1949 graduate of the University of Auburn with a degree in electrical engineering. He was a World War II Army veteran and was retired from the Civil Service Defense Department in Birmingham after 27 years of service.

Services for Sheila D. Ware Hardnett, 42, of Roanoke will be announced by Clark Memorial Funeral Service.

Mrs. Hardnett died Wednesday at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, Ga.

Hodges

JACKSONVILLE

Services for William Richard Hodges, 65, of Jacksonville will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Rev. Theron Williams officiating. Burial will be in Union Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Hodges died Wednesday at Jacksonville Hospital.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Rhonda and Ray Bittle and Elaine and Damon Estes, all of Jacksonville; a son and his wife, Boyd and Linda Hodges of Jacksonville; two sisters, Audrey Owens and Inez Amos, both of Alexandria; a brother, George Hodges of Alexandria; five grandchildren, Jimmy Sparks, Jeremiah Sparks, Michael Estes, Ashley Nelson and Chris Nelson; and a great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Edward Putman, Jimmy Putman, Brian Short, Jeff Short, Luke Adams, David Hodges, Curtis Clay and Jay Sparks.

Mr. Hodges was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County and retired from the Calhoun County School System as a bus driver after 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Edward and Carry Alma Hodges; and two sisters, Ruby Kelly and Gladys Putman.

TALLADEGA

Services for Fred Casey Hughston of Talladega will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Talladega with Drs. Curtis Kelly and Rob Paul officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery with Usrey Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends 5-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Hughston died Thursday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Thompson Hughston; three children and their spouses, Ronald H. and Kathleen Hughston of Tuscaloosa, Phillip T. and Patty Hughston of Mobile and Kimberly Hughston Roberts and David Roberts of Auburn; two brothers, Robert Hughston of Talladega and Sam Hughston of Jackson; a sister, Annie Pearl Haynes of LaGrange, Ga.; and eight grandchildren, James Austin Hughston, Watson Edward Hughston, Anna Kate Hughston, Sarah Kathryn Hughston, Casey Brannon Hughston, Mary Catherine Hughston, Meaghan Elizabeth Roberts and Morghan Nichole Roberts.

Pallbearers will be Dan Kearly, Dr. Harold Clark, Benton Cogburn, Charles H. Johnson, James Upchurch, Guy Kaylor, Donald Roberts and Blake Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be George McFadden, John Teague, Clemit Spruill, the Jack Hethcox Sunday School Class, past and present, and Bradley Brown.

Mr. Hughston worked for 34 years at the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind and retired in 1999. He worked as a coach, physical education and vocational instructor, director of athletics, director of vocational training at the E.H. Gentry Technical Facility and as an executive assistant to the president of AIDB. He served on the Talladega City Board of Education, the Advisory Board for Vocational Education for the State of Alabama, the Talladega County Easter Seal Society, the Northeast Alabama Red Elephant Club and the Hatchet Creek Hunting Club. He was the first chairman of the Talladega Prayer Breakfast Club and had served nine years. He was past president of Talladega Lions Club and the Talladega Babe Ruth League.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Fred Hughston Endowment for Children at the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind or the First Baptist Church I Love My Church Fund.

Graveside services for infant Tyler Edward Hurston of Anniston will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Pine Grove Cemetery in Anniston with Miller Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends noon to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Oxford.

The infant died Wednesday at his home.

JACKSONVILLE

Services for Coleman Knox Jr., 63, of Jacksonville will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Beavers officiating. Burial will be in Forestlawn Gardens with Ervin Funeral Chapel in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services. There will be no public viewing.

Mr. Knox died Monday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Knox of Jacksonville; three daughters, Donna Knox of Maryland, Teresa Knox of Washington D.C. and Veronica Groce of Indiana; two sons, Linnell D. Coleman III of Virginia and Terrance Knox of Maryland; three sisters, Mary Catherine Moore and Willa Ward, both of Alexandria and Christine Walton of Atlanta; two brothers, Eulis Knox of Landover, Md. and William A. Knox of Anniston, 14 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Knox was preceded in death by a son, Larnell Coleman; a sister, Emma Mae Leach; and two brothers, Charles Edward Knox and James Matthew Knox.

Morris

Services for Elizabeth B. Morris, 69, of Anniston will be Saturday at noon at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Willie Simmons Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery with Ervin Funeral Chapel in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services. The family will receive friends 6-7 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Morris died Saturday at Beckwood Manor.

Survivors include a daughter, Natalie Clark; a son, Harold Morris; five sisters, Gracie Werts, Sadie Brown, Rosetta Jackson, Ella M. Patton and Thelma Jackson; three brothers, Willie Percy Brown, Clarence Brown and Edward Brown, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Morris was the 1957 valedictorian of Calhoun County Training School and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cornette Morris.

Reaves

Graveside services for Edith Snead Reaves, 80, of Anniston will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Forestlawn Gardens with Dr. Rick Reaves officiating and Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory in charge. If raining, the service will be at Forestlawn Mausoleum Chapel.

Mrs. Reaves died Thursday at Jacksonville Health and Rehabilitation Center.

The family requests no flowers.
