Services for William “Billy” Harold Phillips, Sr., 78, of Talladega, will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Usrey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Phillips died Saturday at his residence.

Survivors include three sons, Hal (Anita) Phillips of Anniston, Buddy (Bonnie) Phillips of Guntersville and Lewis Phillips of Mecksville, N.C.; four grandchildren, Brandon Phillips, Abby Phillips, Jason Phillips, Matt Phillips; one sister, Ruth Hackney of Huntsville. He was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Phillips.

Mr. Phillips was a native of Jefferson County, living most of his life in Talladega. He was a member of First Baptist Church and it’s Jack Hethcox Sunday School. He also served as the church secretary. Mr. Phillips was a World War II Navy veteran and retired from the Anniston Army Depot where he worked as a mechanic.

Services for Omie Estelle Schwabauer, 78, of Lincoln, will be at Usrey Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Burial will be at Eastaboga Baptist Church. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Schwabauer died Saturday in Vestavia Hills.

Survivors include, a daughter, Mrs. Abbie Wiersma of Vestavia Hills; a son, Billy Turner of Lincoln; three sisters, Nancy Cato of Arlington, Texas, Leona Haynes of Blountsville and Ida Bell Claiborn of Boaz; four granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Mrs. Schwabauer was a native of Blount County and a resident of Talladega County since 1968. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Lincoln Fun Club. She was also a retired employee of Palm Beach County.

Services for Willie Frank Shears, 56, of Atlanta, will be announced by Clark Memorial Funeral Service.

Mr. Shears died Thursday at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

Survivors include his father, Willie Earnest Shears and stepmother, Harriet Shears, both of Roanoke; a son, Frankie Collins of Knoxville, Tenn.; six brothers, Harold Reid of Roanoke, George Shears of Atlanta, Marvin Shears of Germany, Rev. Calvin (Ingrid) Shears of Birmingham, John Lewis (Mae Liza) Shears of LaFayette and Percy (Linda) Shears of Cincinnati, Ohio; and two stepsisters, Juliette and Daphne.

Services for Dorothy “Dottie” Vice, 74, of Wellington will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Freeman and Rev. Noel Vice officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at Crestwood Funeral Home. The body will lie at the church one hour prior to service on Tuesday.

Mrs. Vice died Sunday at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include her husband Floyd Ray Vice; one son, M.E. (Donna) Vice; two grandsons, Michael (Christy) Vice and Bradley Vice; a sister, Faye Scoggins of Spartanburg, S.C.; three brothers, Lloyd Johnson of Spartanburg, S.C., Olin (Fae) Johnson of Waterloo, S.C. and Gene (Beverly) Johnson of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three special friends, Buddy and Roberta Smith and Teresa Ivery; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Gary Vice, Randy Vice, Joey Vice, Noel Vice, Buddy Rawls and Harold Howard.

Mrs. Vice was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Services for Jonni Christine Leyden Weathers, 70, of Dearmanville will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father William Lucas officiating. Burial will be in Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends 5-7 tonight at Brown & Kughn Memory Chapel.

Mrs. Weathers died Saturday in Oxford.

Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Weathers of Waukesha, Wis. and Lisa Weathers of Oxford; two sons, Michael Weathers, and Christopher Weathers of Birmingham; a sister, Gladys Murphree of Altoona; a brother, John Cecil “Joe” Leyden, Jr. of Atlanta; and one grandchild, Matthew Weathers.

Pallbearers include W. H. Murphree, John Dingler, J.E. Ingram, Paul Thompson and Jimmy Hensleigh and Dr. David Cummings.

Mrs. Weathers was a native and lifelong resident of DeArmanville. She was a dental hygienist for Dr. Marvin Yalovitz and Dr. David Cummings until her retirement. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Mrs. Weathers was preceded in death by her husband, A.J, “Jack,” Weathers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1100 Ireland Way, Birmingham, Al. 35205 or to the Calhoun County Humane Society or the League of Animal Welfare.

Services for Margie Dale Baker, 65, of Wedowee will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lowell United Methodist Church with Rev. Wally Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services. The family will receive friends 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Baker died Thursday at her home.

Survivors include her husband, Perry Baker of Wedowee; two daughters, Cindy Brewer of Wadley and Karen Collins of Kansas City, Kan.; two sons, Guy Baker of Wedowee and Jay Baker of Austin, Texas; her mother, Sammie Hall of Roanoke; a sister, Kitty Fortin of Detroit; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Freddy Brewer, Micky Collins, Daniel Bozeman, Joe Bradley, Jose Valezquez and William Wyatts.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Baker was a former resident of Austin, Texas and had returned to Roanoke in 1973. She had lived in Wedowee five years and was a member of Lowell United Methodist Church. She had been employed as a sales associate at Wal-Mart and was preceded in death by her father, Roscoe Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Clay County Hospice, P.O. Box 1270, Ashland, AL 36251.

Burial will be in Rocky Zion Cemetery in Pell City with Pell City Funeral Service in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mr. Bedford died Saturday in Columbiana.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Bedford of Childersburg; six sisters, Earnestine Montgomery, Monica Wade, Lula Johnson and Mary Gilbert, all of Pell City, Sarah Bedford of Austell, Ga. and Lizzie Green of Vincent; and five brothers, Rev. Billy J. Bedford, Jack Bedford, Stanley Bedford and Joseph Bedford, all of Pell City, and Larry Kelly of Gary, Ind.

Graveside services for John Mark Brothers, 44, of Gadsden will be today at 2:30 p.m. at Crestwood Cemetery in Gadsden with Rev. Bill Hudgins officiating and Crestwood Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends noon to 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Brothers died Wednesday.

Survivors include two daughters, April LeeAnn Brothers and Jana Lauren Brothers; his mother, Sue Brothers Kelly; a sister and her husband, Mary and Danny Jones of Oxford; a brother and his wife, James Matthew and Rene Brothers of Hokes Bluff; two nieces, Amy Brothers and Sharon Hughes and her husband, Greg; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Coosa Valley AA, the six floor nurses and staff at Gadsden Regional Medical Center and deacons and members of First Baptist Church of Hokes Bluff.

Mr. Brothers was a 1976 graduate of Hokes Bluff High School and was a member of First Baptist Church of Hokes Bluff and the Coosa Valley AA. He was a well-known carpenter and contractor. He was preceded in death by his father, John H. Brothers.

Services for Willie Q. Cook, 77, of Anniston, formerly of Lee County, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Rest Haven Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Ray Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Eden Hills Cemetery with Anniston Funeral Service in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mr. Cook died Tuesday at Wessex House.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Cook of Anniston; five daughters, Raquel Allen of Atlanta, Robin Bush and Rondia Allen Harville, both of Houston, Texas, Rosalind Allen Montgomery of Jacksonville and Rita Allen of Washington D.C.; a son, Rantron Allen of Anniston; his mother, Catherine F. Jones of Anniston; two sisters, Elizabeth Payne of Auburn and Nell Cook of Opelika; three brothers, Ben Cook and Curtis Cook, both of Opelika, and Austin Cook of Pensacola, Fla., and five grandchildren.

Services for Cynthia Finocchiaro of Riverdale will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Miller Funeral Home in Oxford with Dr. Ron Ethridge officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Trails Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Finocchiaro of Riverdale; her mother, Annie Shears of Oxford; a son, John Daniel Finocchiaro of Riverdale; a daughter, Gina Marie Finocchiaro of Riverdale; a brother, Steve A. Shears of Atlanta; two sisters, Teresa K. Harden of Gadsden and Melisa Jean Wilkerson of Oxford; and a grandchild, Michael Finocchiaro.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Wilkerson, Daniel Finocchiaro, Steve Shears, Benjamin Carl Shears, Jessie Shears and Josh Eason.

Mrs. Finocchiaro was preceded in death by her father, C.M. Shears, and a brother, Eddie Blake Shears.
