JAMES WESLEY SENN

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. Funeral service for James "Jimmy" Wesley Senn, 55, formerly of Talladega, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Talladega Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Steve Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial Park.

Mr. Senn died April 10 in Daytona Beach, Fla. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Riggleman and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Senn. He was a native of Talladega County, was a graduate of Jacksonville State University and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Talladega. He was a retired antique dealer and former business owner in Birmingham.

She is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Douglass of Daytona Beach, Fla.; his father, Charles Ben Senn of Pell City; three aunts, Evelyn Green of Talladega, Altheaon Henry of Clay County and Barbara Freeman of Talladega; and one uncle, Don Riggleman of Talladega.

Pallbearers will be Tim Chappell, Ken Chappell, Joel Henry, Jeff Henry, Bill Jackson, Tommy White, Alan Camp and Steve Farmer.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m.

Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.

EARL GRADY THOMAS JR.

PELL CITY--Funeral service for Earl Grady Thomas Jr., 78, of Pell City, will be Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael King officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Mr. Thomas died Friday. A native of Scottsboro, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He moved to Pell City in 1952 as an assistant County Engineer for St. Clair County, before going to work for Civil Service at the Anniston Army Depot. In 1967, he volunteered for service in Viet Nam, where he served until 1972. He later served in Spain, New Mexico, California and Iceland. He retired in 1985 and returned to Pell City to pursue golfing and other interests.

He is survived by two daughters, Linda Reece and Patsy Falkner, both of Pell City; one son, Greg Thomas of Cullman; one sister, Mary Hooper of Paducah, Ky.; two brothers, Fred Thomas of Scottsboro and Douglas Thomas of Arab; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Kilgroe, Jim Reece, Joey Kay, Matthew Reece, Greg Harris and Earl Hunt.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Kilgroe Funeral Home will direct the service.

ROSE A. THORN

TALLADEGA--Funeral service for Rose A. Thorn, 93, of Talladega, will be Sunday at 4 p.m. at Talladega Funeral Home with the Rev. James Woodin officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Thorn died Friday at Talladega Health Care Center. A native of Mississippi, she had lived in Talladega since 1970. She was a member of Bemiston United Methodist Church and worked as a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lee Roy Thorn, and by one son, Charles Thorn.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Frances Lovelace and Claude of Talladega; one brother, Bill Alverson of Hayleville; two grandsons and their families; one daughter-in-law, Genna DeLoach Thorn of Birmingham; and two sisters-in-law.

The family received friends Saturday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.

DR. PAUL D. ADAMS SR.

SYLACAUGA Graveside service for Dr. Paul D. Adams Sr., 84, will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga with Dr. Todd Henderson and the Rev. Bob Gunn officiating.

Dr. Adams died April 17. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loyce Dunn Adams; three brothers, John Mackey Adams, William C. Adams and James Donald Adams; a sister, Mary Frances Adams; and a grandson, Michael Brian Acklin. Dr. Adams attended the University of Alabama for two years and graduated from dental school at the University of Tennessee.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in the Medical Department at Camp Barkley, Texas, in 1943. He was assigned to the 77th Infantry Division. He was stationed at Camp Stomas in Hawaii and served time in Guam and New Calodonia. Dr. Adams served in World War II in the Phillipine Islands in the southwest Pacific of the southeast coast of Asia. He served in the medical corps as a dentist. Lt. Adams was awarded the Bronze Star, Asiatic Pacific Company Medal, the American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, the Phillipines Liberation Medal and the Phillipines Presidential Army Unit Citation.

He had reached the rank of major when he was discharged, and came to Sylacauga in 1946, where he retired from his dental practice in 1967 and joined Southland Manufacturing, a family business manufacturing clothing in Ashland until it closed in 2001.

He is survived by two sons, Paul Donald Adams Jr. of Birmingham and William W. Adams of Upper Montclair, N.J.; two daughters, Mickey Orton and Ann Jordan Jennings of Sylacauga; 12 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Travis McKay, Charles Copeland, John Q. Adams, Joe Adams, Don Adams, Johnny Adams, Tommy Adams, David Currie and Morris Cochran.

The Dee Dee Craddock Sunday School Class of First United Methodist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First United Methodist Church, 105 E. Spring St., Sylacauga, Ala., 35150, Kid One, P.O. Box 360943, Birmingham, Ala., 35236, Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, 3800 Ridgeway Drive, Birmingham, Ala., 35209 or the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 400 Vestavia Parkway, Birmingham, Ala., 35216.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

ANNIE B. STOREY CURRY

TALLADEGA Funeral service for Annie B. Storey Curry, 90, of 418 Davis St., will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Kelly Springs Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. L.L. Jacobs officiating. Burial will be in Kelly Springs Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Curry died April 14 at Citizens BMC. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Curry; her parents, Gilbert Storey Sr. and Laura Hall Storey; her brothers, Alonzo Storey, J.C. Storey, Walker Storey, William Storey, Gilbert Storey Jr., Andrew Storey and Gus Groce; her sisters, Rosa Storey and Mable Storey. She was a member of Kelly Springs Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a deaconess, Sunday school teacher and president of the Missionary Society. She was active with the Rushing Springs District Sunday School and Baptist Training Union and the Rushing Springs District Association. She was a member of Starling Chapter No. 27 of the Order of Eastern Stars, was a past member of the NAACP and was employed by Talladega College for 25 years. She attended both Westside High School in Talladega and Carver High School in Gadsden.

She is survived by one daughter, Juanita Curry McClellan of Jeffersonville, Ind.; sons, Willie J. Curry of Cleveland, Ohio, Thomas G. Curry of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Samuel L. Curry of Talladega; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.

Deacons of Kelly Springs Missionary Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.

Deaconesses and Sunday school members at Kelly Springs Missionary Baptist Church will serve as flowerbearers.

Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the service.

DONNA GAIL SHAW ENTREKIN

SYLACAUGA Funeral service for Donna Gail Shaw Entrekin, 45, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacauga with the Rev. Jonathan Todd officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga.

Mrs. Entrekin died April 16. She was married for 24 years, was a member of Wesley Chapel U.M.C., where she taught Sunday school in the children's division and sang in the choir. She was a substitute teacher in the Sylacauga City School System, was active in the Sylacauga High School Band Boosters and Relay for Life. She worked for 10 years at Sylacauga Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Entrekin of Sylacauga; son, Kevin Entrekin of Sylacauga; daughters, Crystal Entrekin and Melissa Entrekin of Sylacauga; her mother, Elizabeth Shaw of Sylacauga; and brother, Ken Shaw of Montgomery.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Harris, Mark Sims, Chris Kramer III, Billy Crenshaw, Scott Darnell, David Darnell and Billy Coleman.

Teachers at Pinecrest School will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will accept flowers or contributions may be made to Wesley Chapel Youth or to Relay for Life.

MARIE BRYANT LANDERS

ALPINE Funeral service for Marie Bryant Landers, 68, will be Sunday at 4 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacauga. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. Landers died April 18. She was a member of Westview Baptist Church and was a hostess at McDonald's in Childersburg.

She is survived by one son, Greg Landers and wife Vivian Landers of Alpine; and three brothers, Clifford Bryant and wife Betty Bryant of Childersburg, Vernon Bryant and wife Peggy Bryant of Weir, Texas and Donald Bryant and wife Joyce Bryant of Sylacauga.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

DAVID STEWART

SYCAMORE Funeral service for David Stewart, 69, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Midway Memory Gardens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Pete Liner officiating. Burial will be in Midway Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Stewart died April 17 at HealthSouth Metro West in Fairfield. He was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega County and was a member of Sycamore Church of God. He was retired from Avondale Mills with 35 years of service and Bon Air Avondale with five years of service. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Oliver Stewart, William Stewart and Grady Stewart.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia J. Stewart of Sycamore; two daughters, Sandra D. Jones and Christie Mefferd of Sycamore; three sons, David E. Stewart of Hollins, Michael D. Stewart of Sylacauga and Franklin E. Polk of Wetumpka; four sisters, Louise McCluskey, Sarah Jones, Jenelle Skelton and Effie Sexton of Sylacauga; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Billy Wayne Patterson, John William Carlos Hamm, Benjamin Michael Hamm, Justin Hamm, James Tarwater and Rodney Hammonds.

Midway Memory Gardens Funeral Home will direct the service.
