Davis

Services for Edgar Davis, 92, of Anniston will be announced by Anniston Funeral Service.

Mr. Davis died Sunday at Regional Medical Center.

Doss

GADSDEN

Services for Ted Vernon Doss, 62, of Gadsden will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Crematory in Jacksonville with Rev. Ricky Hudson officiating. Burial will be in Unity Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Doss died Sunday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Doss of Gadsden; a sister, Margie Crabtree of Sand Mountain; two brothers, Fred Doss Jr. of Signal Mountain, Tenn. and Ray Doss of Middleton, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Brian Johnson, Phillip Johnson, Jeff Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Matthew Johnson and Randall Johnson.

Mr. Doss lived in Gadsden 15 years.

Knight

TALLADEGA

Services for Myrtie Swain Knight, 78, of Talladega will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Belview Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Springer officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery with Terry’s Metropolitan Mortuary in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mrs. Knight died Thursday at Citizens Baptist Medical Center.

Survivors include two sons, Wade Knight of Birmingham and Bernard Knight of Talladega; a brother, Edison Warwick of Talladega, and a grandchild.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Mrs. Knight was a graduate of Drewry High School and a member of Belview Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Cheerful Givers Society and a retired civilian chef from the Army at Blackstone, Va. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Swain and Annie Laurie Garrett Swain.

McMichael

JACKSONVILLE

Services for Herbert D. “Bobby” McMichael, 61, of Jacksonville will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church in Jacksonville with Revs. James Brown and Ricky Hudson officiating. Burial will be in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Oxford with Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory in charge. The family will receive friends noon to 6 p.m. today at 1002 Miss Annie’s Drive, Jacksonville.

Mr. McMichael died Saturday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta McMichael of Jacksonville; two daughters, Naomi Ford and Amanda Ford, both of Jacksonville; a son, Steven McMichael of Jacksonville; two brothers, Corles McMichael of Anniston and Wayne McMichael of Jacksonville; three sisters, Delores Ripka of Oxford, Inez Free of Anniston and Opal Brasel of Mississippi; a son-in-law, Bop Ford of Webster’s Chapel, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Junior Barnes, Tracey Barnes, Joey Barnes, Kenneth Free, Jeff Harris, Mike Baker and Jonathon Akins.

Mr. McMichael was retired from U.S. Pipe and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert L. and Hassie McMichael; and his aunt/adopted mother, Oma Downey.

Tillis

WADLEY

Services for Chayron Dari Tillis, 32, of Wadley will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Wedowee with Tony Thornberg officiating. Burial will be in Forrester’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Tillis died Sunday at Randolph Medical Center.

Survivors include her husband, William David Tillis of Wadley; two sons, Richard Tillis and David Tillis, both of Wadley; her parents, Wayne and Jackie Taylor of Wadley; and four sisters, Cheryl Albright and Leslie Smith, both of Wadley, Melinda Walters of Cragford and Cynthia McCormick of Tampa, Fla.

Pallbearers will be Roger Albright, David Knight, Lee Knight, Thomas Dunn, Randall Johnson, Malcolm Bassett and Bobby Tillis. Honorary pallbearers will be Hubert Smith, Matt Walters and Terry McCormick.

Mrs. Tillis was born in Randolph County and had been employed by Wehadkee Yarn Mills.

Williams

BELGREEN

Services for Eleanor Scott Williams, 78, of Belgreen were Saturday at 2 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville. Carl Gaston officiated. Burial was in Dempsey Cemetery.

Mrs. Williams died Thursday at Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Patsy Williams Seay of Belgreen and Joan Williams Poss and Laney Poss of Russellville; a brother, J.B. Scott of Ohatchee; two grandchildren and their spouses, Shane and April Seay and Michelle Poss Davis and William Davis, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Williams was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and was a member of James Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Williams; her parents, Arlie and Arvil Nance Scott; a sister, Jewell Scott Nunnelly; and a son-in-law, Bill Seay.

Donations can be made to the Oak Bowery Baptist Church Building Fund.

Services for Felton Williams, 74, of Anniston, formerly of Omaha, Ga., will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Anniston Funeral Service with Rev. Marvin Crow officiating. Burial will be in Eden Hills Cemetery. The body will be at the chapel an hour prior to services.

Mr. Williams died Saturday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Lee Williams of Anniston; three daughters, Mary Vinson, Charlsie Vinson and Ethel Denise Vinson, all of Anniston; his mother, Willa Williams Patterson of Newport News, Va.; a sister, Eula Bell Williamson of Newport News, 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and friends.

Mr. Williams was a native of Omaha, Ga. and was retired from Standard Foundry and C.M. Offray Mill. He was an Army veteran and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

HEFLIN

Services for John Virgil Banks, 79, of Heflin will be today at 11 a.m. at Dryden Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Lecta Cemetery.

Mr. Banks died Wednesday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include two brothers, Ray Banks of Oxford and Vernon Banks of Lecta, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be David Cox, Randell White, Jimmy Ray Vinson, Hal Wilson, Ashley Truett and Gary Snow.

Mr. Banks was a native of Cleburne County, where he lived most of his life. He attended the Baptist church and was an Army World War II veteran.

Services for Joy Shropshire Billingsley, 54, of Oxford will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Southside Baptist Church in Oxford with Revs. Burgess Austin and Walker Dean officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Trail Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends 6-9 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Billingsley died Thursday at her home.

Survivors include her husband, Gary E. Billingsley of Oxford; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charley and Robin Billingsley of Boaz and Michael Billingsley of Oxford; a grandchild, Chandler Billingsley; her mother, Fannie Lou Shropshire of Oxford; a sister and her husband, Patricia and Tony McComb of Oxford; two brothers and their wives, Kenneth and Charlotte Shropshire of Oxford and Tommy and Nancy Shropshire of Chambersburg, Pa.; a brother-in-law, Kevin Billingsley of Mississippi; a sister-in-law, Cyndi Billingsley of Oxford; a brother-in-law and his wife, Darren and Lori Billingsley of Pell City, and 15 nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Marlin Hunter, Bill Nowland, Ricky Noel, Tim Edwards, Kyle Brasher and Kenneth O’Dell. Honorary pallbearers will be all former choir directors of Southside Baptist Church and the physicians of Oxford Family Practice, Drs. Vance Moore, David Hopper and David Emerson.

Mrs. Billingsley had lived in Oxford most of her life. She was an employee of Radiology Group P.A. for many years and recently employed by Oxford Family Practice. She was a member and Sunday school teacher at Southside Baptist Church and had been the pianist there for 44 years.

Services for Dixie M. Dulaney of Lincoln will be today at 11 a.m. at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega with Revs. Penny Drummond and Brent Page officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial Park.

Mrs. Dulaney died Wednesday at her home.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Phillips of Lincoln; a son, Charles E. Dulaney of Lincoln; a sister, Mary Childers of Anniston; a brother, Jimmy Moore of Anniston, six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Harley Moore, Doyle “Butter” Moore, Marvin Williams, Horace Childers, Calvin Moore and Jimmy Fox.

Mrs. Dulaney was a native of Calhoun County and had lived in Lincoln most of her life. She was a member of Sulfur Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.D. Dulaney, and a son, L.D. Dulaney Jr.
