Services for Charlie Foreman, 78, of Anniston will be announced by Anniston Funeral Service.

Mr. Foreman died Monday at Jacksonville Hospital.

Services for Ellis Ray Grier, 74, of Anniston, formerly of Roanoke, will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Haven United Methodist Church with Rev. Curtis Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Anniston Memorial Gardens with Ervin Funeral Chapel in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mr. Grier died Sunday at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Naomi Robertson Grier; a daughter and son-in-law, Cherylece Grier Wiggins and Ted Wiggins of Augusta, Ga.; three sisters, Eldora Magby, Alar Mae Morris and Estherlean Longshore, all of Anniston; and three grandchildren, Erica Phyllise Wiggins, Melanie Maria Wiggins and Alisha Shavonne Wiggins.

Pallbearers will be Haven United Methodist Men.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Haven United Methodist Church Building Fund or the American Cancer Society.

Services for Mallard L. Martin, 81, of Oxford will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Miller Funeral Home with Rev. James Blair officiating. Burial will be in Eternal Hills Cemetery in Snellville, Ga. The family will receive friends 5-7 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Martin died Saturday at Beverly Health Care Center.

Survivors include four sons, Gary Martin, Randy Martin, Barry Martin and Byron Martin; a daughter, Yvonne Lester; a brother, Buck Martin, 10 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. Martin was a native of Ashland and had lived in Georgia most of his life.

Services for Ava Luker Richey, 76, of Talladega will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Talladega Funeral Home with Rev. Harvey Bowlin Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-7 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Richey died Sunday at her home.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Richey of Talladega; two daughters, Janis Walker of Jacksonville, Fla. and Joni Davis of Smiths; a son, James D. “Jimmy” Luker of Morris; five sisters, Shirley Goble of Albertville, Jean McDonald of Rome, Ga. and Freda Johnson, Cheryl Ogle and Polly Robson, all of Fyffe, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be J.C. Bowlin, J.T. Cosby, Nolan Hethcox, Tim Renda, Charles Hurst and Thomas Wilcox.

Mrs. Richey was a native of Talladega County, where she lived most of her life. She was a member of Trinity Lighthouse Church of God and was retired from hotel management.

Services for Lurlene H. Teague, 75, of Oxford will be today at 2 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home with Revs. Ralph Barrow and Randall C. Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Forestlawn Gardens.

Mrs. Teague died Monday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sheila Teague Allen and Stanley Allen; three sisters, Mary Bailey, Winifred Burton and Sybil Amason; and a grandson and his wife, Jeff and Jennifer Abbott.

Pallbearers will be Larry Carpenter, Steven Faughn, Jeral Hughes, Bobby Miller, John Morrison and Phillip Watson. Honorary pallbearers will be H. Lamar Hood, James P. Jackson Jr. and Quinton Smith.

Mrs. Teague was a native of Randolph County and had lived in Oxford most of her life. She was a member of First Methodist Church of Oxford and was co-owner of Teague Tractor Co. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Michael Teague, and a brother.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Methodist Church of Oxford.

Services for Rachel Mac Oden Howard Thomas, 96, of Wattsville will be Wednesday at noon at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Wallace Pinson officiating. Burial will be in Rocky Zion Cemetery with Terry’s Metropolitan Mortuary in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mrs. Thomas died Thursday at Beverly Ingram Health Care Center.

Survivors include two daughters, Glenella Cunningham of Wattsville and Betty Jean Borden of Detroit; a stepdaughter, Brenda Collins; two sons, Harry Howard and Fred J. Howard, both of Columbia, Pa.; five stepsons, Billy Ray Thomas, William Thomas, Roy Lester Thomas, Walter Thomas and Freeman Thomas, 12 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Thomas was a former member of Shiloh Baptist Church and a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Payton Oden and Gracie Ragland Oden; her husbands, Gurley Howard and Hosie Thomas; and two sisters and four brothers

Services for Hurshel Owen Dial, 82, of Anniston will be today at 2 p.m. at Brown & Kughn Memory Chapel. Visitation will be today from 12-2 p.m. at the chapel.

Mr. Dial died Saturday.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Lana D. Osborn of Anniston and Greta D. and Pat Sonnier of Oxford; one sister, Evelyn Kilmartin of Anniston; six grandchildren, Gilda Osborn, Angelle Smith, Emily Smith, Barry Davidson, Shelia D'anna, Vickie Davidson and Ben Davidson; seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Dwight Smith, Pat Sonnier, Lelton Bell, Terry Parker, Stanley Bell and Travis Parker.

Mr. Dial was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He retired from National Gypsum Company in 1977 and continued to work and manage Greenbrier Apartments for 22 years. Mr. Dial was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Steve Davidson, five sisters, and his wife, Jewell Dial.

The family will receive flowers or donations to the Hospice of East Alabama, P.O. Box 2581, Anniston, AL 36202.

Services for Grace Guinn, 90, of Clay County will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Rocky Mount Baptist Church, with Revs. Mark Kytan, Milton Green and Clyde Coker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, with Clay County Funeral Home in charge. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service and the family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 3-5 p.m.

Mrs. Guinn died Saturday at Baptist Montclair-Birmingham.

Survivors include her husband, Arnie D. Guinn of Clay County; a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley G. and Clyde Coker of Alexander City; a son and daughter-in-law, Cecil H. and Mary Guinn of Clay County; five grandchildren, Karen G. Fenn, Nancy G. Childers, Alan D. Guinn, Angela C. Hendrix and Cindy C. Osborn; 10 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Virgil Chandler, Ben Williamson and David Hendrix.

Services for James Edward Humphrey, 79, of Tyler, Texas will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Elliott Memorial Chapel at Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Bullard, Texas, with Rev. C.L. Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Bullard Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8 p.m.

Mr. Humphrey died Friday in Tyler.

Survivors include his ex-wife, Marlene Edwards of Lincoln; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerry Humphrey of Leavenworth, Kan. and James and Brenda Humphrey of Tyler; two daughters, Denise Smith of Mobile and Jean Cates of Alexandria; two brothers, Ardis and Claude Humphrey, both of Piedmont; a sister, Myrtice King of Piedmont; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be friends and family.

Mr. Humphrey was a native of Anniston and lived 22 years in the Tyler area. He was a member of Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Tyler and was a retired steel worker. He was a World War II Army veteran.
