Jinks

Services for Roy William Jinks, 69, of Anniston will be Monday at 2 p.m. in the Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vernon Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in the old Ohatchee Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 5-8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Jinks died Friday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include two sisters, Catherine Bryant of Anniston and Elaine Smith of South Carolina; and two brothers, Wayne Jinks and Gerald Jinks.

Pallbearers will be Robert Pelfrey, Pat Pelfrey, Ray Campbell, Tommy Cooper, Donald Jinks and Mike Cullie.

Mr. Jinks was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County and had retired from Jenkins Manufacturing Company. He was preceded in death by a sister, Vivian Cooper, and a brother, Billy Jinks.

Johnston

JACKSONVILLE

Services for Kenneth Sargent Johnston, 59, of Jacksonville will be today at 1:30 p.m. at K.L. Funeral Home with Revs. Terry Johnson and Tom Morrison officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home.

Mr. Johnston died Friday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Ingrid Johnston of Jacksonville; his parents, Sargent and Ethel Johnston of Jacksonville; one daughter, Karen Wilder of Pensacola; two sons, Bryan Johnston of Pelham and Whip M. Triplett of Savannah, Ga.; one sister, LaVerne Pace of Arab; six grandchildren, Sydney H. Wilder, Patrick C. Johnston, Aaron T. Hill, William G. Nelson, Tristan S. Triplett and Brooks M. Triplett.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Nelson, Donald Griffith, Johnny McGinnis, David Thompson, Rick Hammett, Rick Sheyne, Dennis Champion and Terry Young.

Mr. Johnston was a native of Sylacauga and had lived in Jacksonville all of his life. He was a 1961 graduate of Jacksonville High School and was employed with BellSouth for 39 years. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ferman and Alice Johnston and Patrick and Annie McGinnis.

WOODLAND

Services for Eunie Mae Langley, 96, of Woodland, will Monday at 2 p.m. with Benefield Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends tonight from 5-8.

Miss Langley died Saturday at Traylor's Nursing Home in Roanoke.

Mitchell

LINCOLN

Services for Pamela Ann Mitchell, 25, of Lincoln will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Talladega Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at the Mid-Way Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8.

Mrs. Mitchell died Friday in Lincoln.

Survivors include her husband, Joey Lugo of Lincoln; a son, David P. Lugo of Lincoln; two stepsons, Corey Lugo of Lincoln and Dustin Lugo of North Carolina; her mother, Angela Horn of Lincoln; her father and stepmother, Johnny and Cindy Horn of Oneonta; her grandmother, Myra Martin of Lincoln; and several aunts and uncles.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Beverly, Eddie Smith, Roy Proctor, Frank Grogan, Jeremiah Curley, Rick Abbott and Hiram Barnett.

Mrs. Mitchell was a native of Dennison, Texas but lived most of her life in Talladega County. She was of the Pentecostal faith and was employed by Southern Defense. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Douglas Martin and Alvin Mitchell, and a brother, David Martin.

Smith

LINEVILLE

Services for James L. Smith, 76, of Lineville will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Lineville, with Dr. Jerry Herston officiating. Burial will follow in the Lineville City Cemetery, with Benefield Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 2-4 p.m. and Monday until 10:30 a.m.

Mr. Smith died Friday at Lineville Nursing Facility.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary G. Bolton of Temple, Texas; one son, James L. Smith of Penn.; two sisters Eva J. Bryan of Kalamazoo, Mich. and Elizabeth A. Henson of Jackson, Miss.; two brothers, George C. Smith Sr. of Lineville and Thomas Reeves of Bethesda, Md.; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Smith, Matthew Smith, Michael Paschal, Andy Smith, Lloyd Sparks, Dwain Rush, Bob Willis and Zenus Windsor.

Mr. Smith was a native of Clay County and a former resident of Jacksonville, Fla., who had lived in Lineville since 1996. He was self-employed in sales, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lineville, a Mason and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, John William and Velma R. Smith, and his wife, Mary Elizabeth Smith.

Wofford

PIEDMONT

Services for Phillip Jerome Wofford, 42, of Piedmont, will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, with Rev. William Cain officiating. Burial will follow at Littlejohn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 6-8.

Mr. Wofford died Saturday at his home.

Survivors include his parents, Harvey and Marie Wofford of Piedmont; a sister, Shelia Craig of Collinsville; six brothers, Michael Wofford of Centre, and Joe Wofford, Tim Wofford and James Wofford, all of Piedmont, and Sammy Wofford and Jimmy Wofford, both of Jacksonville; four nieces, and three nephews.

Pallbearers will be John Wright, Brad Merrill, Paul Wofford, Wayne Turley, Shorty Knighten, Wesley Gibbs, Deon Vasser and Terry Turley.

Mr. Wofford was an Etowah County native and had lived in Piedmont since 1977.

Brewster

OHATCHEE

Services for Molar Brewster, 93, of Ohatchee will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Ohatchee. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Anniston Funeral Service in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mrs. Brewster died Thursday at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include four daughters, Ella Smith, Betty Williams, Katie Crawford and Geraldine Sims, all of Boston; five sons, Sammie Brewster of Ohatchee and Arthur Brewster, Billy Brewster, Henry Brewster and Jerry Brewster, all of Boston; two sisters, Corene Milton of Ohatchee and Irene Curry of Boston; two brothers, Charlie Ford Sturkie and Paul Sturkie, both of Ohatchee; and 63 grandchildren, 15 step-grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

Mrs. Brewster was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County and was a member of First Baptist Church of Ohatchee.

Craven

Graveside services for Andrew Franklin Craven, 76, of Anniston were Tuesday at 9 a.m. at Highland Cemetery with Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory in charge.

Mr. Craven died Saturday at National Health Care.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Mayfield Craven of Anniston; two brothers, Boyd L. Craven of Grand Blank, Mich. and Tommy R. Craven of Madison, Ga.; and four nieces and six nephews.

Mr. Craven was retired from M&H Valve after 37 years of service. He was a member of Fairview Heights Northside Baptist Church, where he served as a trustee, an usher and as president of the Men’s Sunday School Class for several years.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association or the United Cerebral Palsy Association.

Davis

Services for Edgar Davis, 93, of Anniston, formerly of Bowdon, Ga., will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at All-American Holiness Church of God in Christ. Burial will be in Eden Hills Cemetery with Anniston Funeral Service in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mr. Davis died Sunday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include a daughter, Sherrie Ann Davis-Moore of Atlanta; a sister, Pastor Annie M. Gholston-Keels of Anniston, and two grandchildren.

Mr. Davis was a native of Bowdon, Ga., and was a member of All-American Holiness Church of God in Christ.

TALLADEGA

Services for Odessa Miller Guyton, 83, of Talladega will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at New Hope United Methodist Church with Revs. Henry McGhee and L. Bolton officiating. Burial will be in Knoxville Cemetery with Terry’s Metropolitan Mortuary in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mrs. Guyton died Friday at her home.

Survivors include a daughter, Sarah Ann Guyton of St. Louis; two sons, George Guyton and Harvey Guyton Jr., both of Boston; two sisters, Nancy Rowland and Minnie Lee Hearn, both of Talladega; a brother, Harvey Miller Sr. of Talladega; a nephew and caregiver, Wallace Rowland of Talladega, and several grandchildren.

Mrs. Guyton was a member of the missionary society and New Hope United Methodist Church. She was retired from Citizens Baptist Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Guyton; her parents, Walter Miller and Minnie Hawthorne Miller; and a sister, Jimmy Lou Miller.
