Zydowicz

Memorial services for Donna Mae Zydowicz, 54, of Anniston will be Monday at 7 p.m. at Brown & Kughn Memory Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Irwin and W.H. Ford officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Zydowicz died Thursday.

Survivors include her husband, Max A. Zydowicz of Anniston; a son, Franke A. Zydowicz of Anniston; her parents, Frank Paul and May B. Paul of Shawano, Wisc.; two sisters, Sandra Lee Moss and her husband, David Moss, of Cudahy, Wisc., and Judy Tate of Anniston; and a brother-in-law, Michael Zydowicz of Milwaukee, Wisc.

Mrs. Zydowicz was a native of South Milwaukee, Wisc., and had lived in Anniston 10 years. She was a day care teacher at Shepherd’s Child Care Center and was a member of Harvest Church of God. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Paul.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of East Alabama, P.O. Box 2581, Anniston, AL 36202.

Services for Lugertha Hardie Bailey, 84, of Anniston will be announced by Anniston Funeral Service.

Mrs. Bailey died Tuesday at her home.

Burns

PIEDMONT

Services for Sarah Burns, 88, of Piedmont will be today at 2 p.m. at Mickelsen-McGee Funeral Home with Gary Batson officiating. Burial will be in Rabbittown Cemetery.

Mrs. Burns died Monday.

Survivors include two daughters, Blanche Warren and Hazel Coppock, both of Piedmont; three sons, Cecil Burns, Carl David Burns and Marshall Burns, all of Piedmont; five sisters, Ruby Lee Grimes, Pelham Hunt, Lillian Benefield and Jimmie Grimes, all of Piedmont and Addie Hunt; eight grandchildren, Rayford Ivey, Suzie Studdard, Gayle Williamson, Wanda Smith, Wayne Coppock, Kevin Coppock, Marilyn Hudson and Gathan Burns; 16 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Gathan Burns, Rayford Ivey, Kevin Coppock, Ken Hudson, Jeff Smith and Todd Matthew.

Mrs. Burns was a member of White Plains Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Burns, and a daughter, Maylene Headrick.

Dobbs

PIEDMONT

Services for Gary Dobbs Sr., 57, of Piedmont will be today at 3 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with Revs. Derek Smith and Jerry Dyer officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Dobbs died Monday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Smith Dobbs of Piedmont; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mashelle Dobbs Pruitt and Sandra and Jay McCain, all of Piedmont; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary Allen Dobbs Jr. and Tammy Dobbs of Piedmont; a sister, Dorothy D. Pope of Piedmont; and three grandchildren, Brad Floyd, Lacey Dobbs and Jared McCain.

Pallbearers will be Cooter Hightower, George Scroggins, Harold Martin, Terry Young, Mark McCain and Michael Hightower. Honorary pallbearer will be Joe Norton.

Mr. Dobbs had lived in the Piedmont area all his life and had attended First Baptist Church of Piedmont. He was an employee of Rome Plow Company for 20 years and an employee of Garcy Corporation in Piedmont for eight years. He was a six-year National Guard veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Fronnie Dobbs; a grandchild, Jordan Lee McCain; and three brothers, Herchel Dobbs, Lathan Dobbs and Herman Dobbs.

Services for Fredrick Funderburg, 65, of Anniston will be announced by Ervin Funeral Chapel.

Mr. Funderburg died Monday at Regional Medical Center.

Furgerson

HEFLIN

Services for Elsie Lee Furgerson, 73, of Heflin will be today at 11 a.m. at Dryden Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in Muscadine Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to service time today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Furgerson died Tuesday at her home.

Survivors include a son, James Furgerson of Heflin; two grandchildren, Jessica Furgerson and April Sanderson; and a great-grandchild, Matthew Johnson.

Pallbearers will be friends and relatives.

Mrs. Furgerson was a native and lifelong resident of Cleburne County. She was retired from Sewell Manufacturing and was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church.

BIRMINGHAM

Services for Francine Germaine Green, 71, of Birmingham will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Crematory in Anniston with Rev. Gerald Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Oak Bowery Baptist Church Cemetery in Ohatchee. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Green died Monday at Medical Center East in Birmingham.

Survivors include her husband, Carnell L. Green of Birmingham; four daughters and their husbands, Jewell and Wayne Wilkes Sr. of Quinton, Joyce and John S. Moore of Nicholasville, Ky., Janice and Tony Nelson of Ohatchee and Tanya and David G. Rider of Jemison; a son and his wife, Roger and Sandi Green of Birmingham; 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Dewayne Green, Wayne Wilkes Jr., Christopher Moore, Lance Miller, Steven Asbury and Eric Nelson.

Mrs. Green was a native of Liege, Belgium, a former resident of Ohatchee, and had lived in Birmingham 45 years. She was retired from the Jefferson County Board of Education and was a member of Hilldale Baptist Church.

Services for Elizabeth Ann Harrison, 57, of Wedowee will be announced by Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee.

Mrs. Harrison died Tuesday at Clay County Nursing Home.

Knight

WEDOWEE

Services for Inora Pearl Knight, 86, of Wedowee will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Pine Flat Primitive Baptist Church in Wedowee with James Rowe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Clark Memorial Funeral Service in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services. The family will receive friends 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Ms. Knight died Saturday at Wedowee Hospital.

Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Mable and Thomas Woodgett of Wedowee, Betty Jean and Willie Lowe of Wadley and Icie Bell and John Henry Langston of Roanoke; two brothers and their wives, Harmon and Sue Carter of Detroit and Robert Lewis and Margaret Carter of Anniston; two sisters, Della Story and Betsy Dunton, both of Anniston; a daughter-in-law, Jessie Mae Andrews of Wedowee; and an adoptive brother, John R. Knight of Wedowee.

Ms. Knight was preceded in death by a son, William T. Knight.

Services for Esther Littrell, 90, of Anniston will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Brownfield Funeral Home in Brownfield, Texas. Burial will be in Meadow Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-6 p.m. Thursday at Brown and Kughn Memory Chapel.

Mrs. Littrell died Tuesday in Anniston.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., 324 North Fifth St., Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250.

Lyle

CARROLLTON, Ga.

Services for Mae M. Lyle, 72, of Carrollton will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Emerson Lyle officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Martin and Hightower Heritage Chapel Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends 5-9 tonight at the funeral home in Carrollton.

Mrs. Lyle died Monday at Tanner Medical Center.

Survivors include five daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne Folds and Teresa Taylor, both of Carrollton, Trudy and Johnny Edwards of Russellville, Ky. and Deborah and Greg Peck and Sandy and Jerome George, all of Woodland; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Sarah Lyle of Carrollton and Tony and Niki Lyle of Taylorsville, Ga.; four sisters, Jean Bowman of Cedartown, Ga., Joyce Bonner of Newnan, Ga., Barbara Smith of South Carolina and Mary Wicichowski of Florida; 17 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Mrs. Lyle was born in Haralson County, Ga. and was a homemaker. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and the Circle of Friends Widows Group, affiliated with Martin and Hightower Funeral Homes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Judson Lyle; her parents, James Bradley Mize and Bessie O. Crumbley Mize; a daughter, Cynthia Ann Lyle; a son, Judson Lyle; two sisters, Katherine Williams and Christine Smith; a brother, James Mize; and a grandchild, Tina Swanger.

Morris

PELL CITY

Services for Norman Edward Morris, 60, of Pell City will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City with Father Van Foreman and Randy Morris officiating. Burial will be in Valley Hill Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-9 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Morris died Monday at Medical Center East in Birmingham.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Morris; a daughter, Maria Sprayberry of Piedmont; three sons, Claude E. Morris of Lineville, Tony McCombs of Pell City and Joseph McCombs of Buxton, N.C.; his parents, Claude and Avis Morris of Chulafinnee; two sisters, Gail Fields and Helen Nelson, both of Chulafinnee; seven grandchildren, a great-grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Morris had lived in Pell City since 1979 and was the owner and operator of Pest to Rest Pest Control and Termite Company. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
