Funderburg

Services for Fredrick Norman Funderburg, 65, of Anniston will be Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at 17th Street Baptist Church with Rev. N.Q. Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Anniston Memorial Gardens with Ervin Funeral Chapel in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services. The family will receive friends 6-7:30 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Funderburg died Monday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Willie Ann Funderburg of Anniston; a daughter, Katherine Anita Short of Salisbury, N.C.; a son, Issac Montrell Richardson of Anniston; and two sisters, Marcell Lloyd of Hampton, Va. and Patricia Walker of Anniston.

Pallbearers will be members of the Army Honor Guard.

Mr. Funderburg was a member of 17th Street Baptist Church and was an Army veteran.

Services for Calvin E. Hanks Jr., 78, of Anniston will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Hanks died Thursday at Beckwood Manor.

Harrison

WEDOWEE

Services for Elizabeth Ann Harrison, 57, of Wedowee will be today at 11 a.m. at Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee with Rev. L.C. Harris officiating. Burial will be in Black’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Clay County.

Ms. Harrison died Tuesday at Clay County Nursing Home in Ashland.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Raymond Burge of Clarksville, Tenn.; and three brothers, Morris Harris and Thornton Harris, both of Anniston and Eugene Harris of Brandonton, Fla.

A Clay County native, Ms. Harrison was the daughter of Maeward C. and Mittylene McKay Harris. She had been employed as a bus driver for Randolph County schools and was preceded in death by a brother, Arnold Harris.

Howell

Services for Willie Mae Howell, 81, of Anniston will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory with Rev. Steve Stringer officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Howell died Thursday at Regional Medical Center.

Jordan

CENTRE

Services for Karen Lynnette Jordan, 39, of Centre will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Perry Funeral Home with Revs. Sanford Deberry and Brian Williams officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-9 tonight at the funeral home.

Miss Jordan died Tuesday in Gadsden.

Survivors include her fiancée, Rodney Padgett; a son and his fiancée, Justin Jordan and Julie Slayton; her mother, Katherine Jordan; six brothers and five sisters-in-law, Daryl Jordan, Tony and Donna Lackey, Jeffrey and Sisie Jordan, Janssen and Michele Jordan, Gary and Cathy Morgan and Randall and Robin Studdard; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Pam and Ken Cardin, Debbie and Steve Holman, Kathy and Ricky Smith and Kayla Wright; her grandmother, Ruby Dean; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Camp Reese, Wayne Burk, Jock King, Tim Abernathy, Barry Thomassie and Michael Anthony.

Miss Jordan was a native of Cherokee County and had been a restaurant manager. She was a Baptist and was preceded in death by her father, J. Wendell Jordan.

Norton

GADSDEN

Graveside services for Frances Kathleen Norton, 77, of Gadsden will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Highland Cemetery in Piedmont with Rev. James Rainey officiating and Thompson Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight and one hour prior to service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Norton died Wednesday at Cherokee County Nursing Home.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Norton of Gadsden; three daughters and sons-in-law, Vivian and Dale Wanner of Virginia, Sandra and Frank Anthony of Leesburg and Joyce and Gerald Walker of Gadsden; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Frank and Bonnie Rainey and Bernie Rainey, all of Piedmont, Gerald and Patsy Rainey of Gadsden and Clarence and Mary Ann Rainey of Georgia; a brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Linda Kiser of Piedmont; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Mrs. Norton was born in Calhoun County and had lived in the Goshen Community most of her life. She was employed by SCT Yarn for 30 years and was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Palmer Carr; and her parents, George and Pearle Kiser.

ROANOKE

Services for Teresa Holley Reid, 39, of Roanoke will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at East Roanoke Church of God with Wade Wright officiating. Burial will be in Sky View Memorial Gardens in Welch with Silmon Mortuary in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services. The family will receive friends 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Reid died Wednesday.

Survivors include her husband, Harold Reid of Roanoke; four sisters, Barbara Slaughter, Linda Rowland, Gloria Wright and Sara Billingslea, all of Roanoke; a brother, Gregory Holley of Opelika; a mother-in-law, Alice Reid of Franklin, Ga.; a father-in-law, Willie Shears of Roanoke; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Reid was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby Lee Holley and Lela Pearl Ridley Holley.

Survivors include six daughters, Mary L. Brown of Youngstown, Ohio, Barbara St. Romain and Ella M. Riggins, both of Fayetville, N.C., Teresa Glover and Geremaine Thomas, both of Anniston and Linda G. Riley of Washington; two sisters, Irene Green and Lovely M. Porter, both of Anniston; a brother, Lefaire Willingham of Anniston; and 11 grandchildren.

ATLANTA

Services for Dorothy Cumi French Sears, 86, of Atlanta, formerly of Wedowee, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Bear Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Samuels officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services. The family will receive friends 5:30-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sears died Thursday at Beverly Health Care in Atlanta.

Survivors include a daughter, Martha Jean Smith of Newnan, Ga.; two sons, Guy Alfred Sears Jr. of Lithia Springs, Ga. and Donald L. Sears of Dunwoody, Ga.; three sisters, Martha Kate McManus of Fairburn, Ga., Myrtie Butler of Bowdon, Ga. and Mevolene Brown of Wedowee; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be family members.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Sears was the daughter of the late Charles Augustus and Eva Pearl Kirby French. She was a homemaker and a member of East Point Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Bert Charles Sears; a sister, Eva French; and two brothers, Charlie W. French and Douglas French.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Bear Creek United Methodist Church Fund, 23980 Highway 48, Woodland, AL 36280.

Services for Lawrence L. Stephens, 64, of Heflin will be announced by Miller Funeral Home in Oxford.

Mr. Stephens died Thursday at Regional Medical Center.

Services for Hattie Stockdale, 92, of Talladega will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Rushing Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Clarence Woodward officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Sims Funeral Service in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mrs. Stockdale died Saturday at Talladega Health Care Center.

Survivors include three daughters, Emma Finley of Chattanooga, Tenn. and Betty Hearn and Mattie Bibb, both of Talladega; a son, Walter Turner of Chattanooga; a sister, Iona Rutledge of Anniston; a brother, J.D. Stockdale of Ozark; 33 grandchildren, 82 great-grandchildren, 31 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
