Bray

RAGLAND

Services for Paul Fred Bray, 73, of Ragland will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Anniston Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. W.A. Jinks Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Anniston Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory in charge. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Bray died Tuesday at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include two sons, Mike W. Bray of Villa Rica, Ga. and Perry C. Bray of Ragland; two grandchildren, Toby L. Bray and Casie M. Bray Drummond; and three great-grandchildren, Jordan S. Drummond, Nicholas Z. Bray and Colton G. Drummond.

Mr. Bray was a native of Calhoun County and was retired from Super Valu Inc. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katheryn J. Bray.

Memorials can be made to Countryside Hospice, 1419 Leighton Ave., Anniston, AL 36207.

Davidson

Services for Eula Milam Davidson, 76, of Anniston will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory with Revs. Wayne Gardner and Doug Nunnally officiating. Burial will be in Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 5-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Davidson died Tuesday at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

Survivors include six sons, Charles Bobby Davidson, Mickey Davidson, Howard Davidson and Dennis Davidson, all of Anniston, and Edward F. Davidson and Clifford Davidson, both of Coldwater; four sisters, Louise Varnon, Joyce Wright and Betty Finch, all of Jacksonville, and Catherine Duncan of Texas; two brothers, Roy Milam of Jacksonville and Willie Penley of Barry; 10 grandchildren, Kim Stinson, Randy Davidson, Michael Davidson, Joseph Davidson, Connie Davidson, Pepper Davidson, Chris Davidson, Dennis Allen Davidson, Nick Davidson and Zack Davidson; and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Joe Davidson, Byron Stinson, Dennis Allen Davidson, Jeff Lloyd, Randy Hubbard and Roger Moore.

Mrs. Davidson was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil F. Davidson.

Haynes

Services for Ralph C. Haynes, 71, of Anniston will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald Clark officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Springville. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Haynes died Tuesday at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Freda J. Haynes of Anniston; seven stepdaughters, Alice Smith of Bynum, Benetta Tidwell and Rita Landers, both of Anniston, Tracy Sullivan and Laura Mortimer, both of Florida and Renee Azbell and Taska Pavlas, both of Illinois; two sons, Ralph E. Haynes and Kenneth Haynes, both of Oxford; a stepson, Dennis Lee of California; 30 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mark Williams, Delmar Duckett, Jerry Smith, Thomas Payne, Steve Luker and Gene Owens.

Mr. Haynes was a native of Calhoun County, where he lived most of his life. He was a retired truck driver and a Marine Corps World War II veteran. He was the member of the Elks Lodge and American Legion. He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Cowan, and a stepson, Michael Lee.

Lockridge

VALDOSTA, Ga.

Services for retired Air Force Capt. Ronald H. Lockridge, 63, of Valdosta, formerly of Piedmont, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Calvin “Skider” Chatham officiating. Burial will be in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens with full military honors. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Lockridge died Tuesday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda McAbee Lockridge of Valdosta; three daughters and their husbands, Rhonda Lockridge and her companion, Robert Williamson, Kathy and Andy Wortham and Melinda and Mike Ruff, all of Valdosta; three grandchildren, David Wortham, Regan Ruff and Maggie Laine Ruff; two brothers, Van Lockridge of Gadsden and Marty Lockridge of Piedmont; three sisters, Libby Johnson of Rome, Sandy Smith of Trout Run, Pa. and Marlene Doyal of Piedmont; and a close friend, Coy Crider.

Born in Piedmont, Mr. Lockridge was the son of the late Hoyt and Eva Arnett Lockridge. He had lived in Valdosta since 1978 and was a 28-year Air Force veteran. He was a Korean War and Vietnam War veteran. He retired from the Air Force in 1982 and continued working as reprographics printing manager at Moody Air Force Base and as an instructor at Valdosta Technical College.

Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the Pearlman Cancer Center.

Motes

JACKSONVILLE

Services for James Edward Motes Jr., 71, of Jacksonville will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home in Gadsden with Rev. Aaron Johnson officiating. Graveside services will be Friday at 4:30 p.m. (EST) at Highland Gardens in Knoxville, Tenn. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Survivors include two sons, James Motes III and William Maxwell Motes of Ohatchee; a daughter, Barbara Lynn Motes DeLissa of Hawaii; and a sister, Betty Jean Motes Gill of Knoxville, Tenn.

Mr. Motes was retired from the Army and was a Korean War veteran. He was on the champion cross-country track team for the University of Tennessee and was very active in the Bridge community.

WADLEY

Services for Mattie Walker Sheppard, 104, of Wadley will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Home in Roanoke with Rev. James Duke officiating. Burial will be in Hillview Cemetery in Alexander City. The family will receive friends 5-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sheppard died Tuesday at Chapman Nursing Home in Alexander City.

Survivors include a sister, Elizabeth Screws of Wadley; five nieces, Irene Bark, Ivora Marker, Mary Sue Rogers, Nelda Bishop and Vicky Barrows; two nephews, Charles Wilkins and George Walker; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mrs. Sheppard was a native of Randolph County and the daughter of the late George W. and Alice Veazey Walker. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Methodist Church, the Eastern Star, the AEA and the NEA. She was a first grade teacher, beginning her teaching career in Clay County. She taught in Macon County and was retired from Marion County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Sheppard.

Tannehill

LINEVILLE

Charles E. “Chuck” Tannehill, 67, of Lineville died Tuesday at his home. Clay County Funeral Home is in charge.

Survivors include his wife, Sally Tannehill of Lineville; a daughter and her husband, Shelly K. and Stan Hartzell of Englewood, Fla.; a son and his wife, Randy Scott and Barbara Tannehill of Englewood; six grandchildren, Randy Tannehill and his wife, Mandy, Karen Dowd and her husband, Jeremy, Jennifer Johnson, Kevin Tannehill and his wife, Danielle, Nathan Myers and Jonathan Hartzell; and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Tannehill was a native of Ohio, where he lived until 1968 when he moved to Englewood, Fla. Before his retirement, he had been employed by GTE as a switch room technician for 21 years. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1933 in Englewood and the Tig-Mill Hunting Club in Lineville.

The family requests no flowers.
