Services for Lorriane Hash of Anniston will be announced by Miller Funeral Home of Oxford.

Mrs. Hash died Friday in Anniston.

Parker

HEFLIN

Services for Charlie Will Parker, 74, of Heflin will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Church with Howard Laminack, Pete Alewine and Ridley Palmer officiating. Burial will be at Nances Creek Cemetery in Piedmont. The family will receive friends today from 4-8 p.m. at Dryden Funeral Home in Heflin.

Mr. Parker died Friday at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Parker of Heflin; four daughters, Peggy Harmon of Woodland, Susie Shephard of Roanoke, Barbara Hall of Heflin, and Bettie Jo Rich of Jacksonville; three sons, Bill Parker of Heflin, Samuel Parker of Heflin, and Paul Parker of Heflin; three sisters, Alma Morton of Jonesboro, Ga., Frances Lawhorn of Lagrange, Ga., and Annie Jo Glass of Rock Mills; 14 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Danny White, Derrick White, Michael Jones, Brandon Rich, Jesse Reese and Thomas Burney.

Mr. Parker was born and raised a farmer in Randolph County. He served in the Army during World War II and was a salesman for Skinner Furniture and Belchers/ Cotters Furniture. He and his wife gardened and were well known for weaving baskets and chairs. He was a member of Hillcrest Church.

Thornburg

ASHLAND

Services for Sherrell Williams Thornburg, 62, of Ashland will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Methodist Protestant Church with the Rev. John Luckie and the Rev. Tony Thornburg officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Ashland in charge. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5-8 p.m. and until an hour before the service on Monday. The body will be at the church an hour before the service.

Mrs. Thornburg died Saturday at her home.

Survivors include a daughter, Pam Thornburg of Millerville; two sons, Tony Thornburg and his wife, Donna, of Millerville, and Jeff Thornburg and his wife, Connie, of Fayetteville; four sisters, Helen Bryant of Sylacauga, Charlotte Bryant of Millerville, Betty Faye Williams of Millerville and Vera Jordan of Cragford; two brothers, Mickey Williams of Lineville and Bill Williams of British Columbia, Canada; four grandchildren, Kelly Lynn Thornburg, Amanda Blair Thornburg, Macey Knight and Shane McKee; and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Larry Williams, Glen Williams, Paul Smith, Don Jackson, Shane McKee and Brad Jordan.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jolene Bohannon, Janis Bearden, Nancy Bowen and Charlotte Bryant.

Mrs. Thornburg was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County. She was employed more than 10 years by the Clay County Board of Education, and was a member of Pleasant Hill Methodist Protestant Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, A.O. and Florence Jackson Williams; and three brothers, infant Larry Wayne Williams, Olen Williams and Jerry Williams.

The family will accept flowers, or memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Clay County.

ROANOKE

Services for Katie Ruth Terrell Blake, 82, of Roanoke will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Mount Olive United Methodist Church in Wadley with Revs. Hollis Boykin officiating and R.L. Heflin officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday after 10 a.m. at Clark Memorial Funeral Service in Roanoke.

Ms. Blake died Saturday at LaFayette Extended Care.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Ruby M. Terrell of Atlanta; a granddaughter, Janice Terrell of Douglasville, Ga.; a grandson, Gary Bernard Terrell of Atlanta; and five great-grandchildren.

Ms. Blake was born in Abanda to the late Henry and Nora Bryant Terrell. She was a member of Mount Olive United Methodist Church in the Dickert Community and was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Blake, her son, James Henry Terrell, and a granddaughter, Chandra Terrell.

Byers

PIEDMONT

Services for Dorothy Gilley Byers, 82, of Piedmont will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Rice officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8 tonight.

Mrs. Byers died Sunday at her home.

Survivors include her husband, Emmett Byers of Piedmont; two stepsons, Charles Edward Byers and Emmett Joe Byers, both of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Sarah Hunter of Ft. Pierce; a niece, Cathy Baker of Piedmont; a nephew, Danny Gilley of Oxford; and several cousins.

Mrs. Byers was a native and lifelong resident of Piedmont. She was a member of the Piedmont Congregational Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, the V.F.W. Auxiliary, the D.A.V. Auxiliary, the Piedmont Historical Society and the Rebekah’s. She also organized the local chapter of the United Daughter of the Confederacy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tobe and Odias Gilley.

Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to the Piedmont Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 333, Piedmont, AL 36272.

Services for Earl Easterwood, 66, of Jacksonville will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at K.L. Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Jesse Barksdale and Chuck Cummings officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Easterwood died Sunday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Easterwood of Jacksonville; two daughters, Lori Craig of Alexandria and Pam Patterson of Attalla; a son, Terry Easterwood of Choccolocco; a sister, Edna Duncan of Jacksonville; a brother, Samuel Easterwood of Jacksonville; six grandchildren, Kevin Bundrum, Amanda Hammonds, Stephen Craig, Brittany Craig, Derrick Easterwood and Whitney Easterwood; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Hank Dunaway, Reggie Noah, Frank Dodd, William Robertson, Tommy Hale and Wyatt Osman. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren and co-workers at Lee Brass.

Mr. Easterwood was a native and life long resident of Calhoun County. He retired from Lee Brass and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Bertha Easterwood.

The family will receive flowers or donations may be made to a favorite charity.

Graveside services for Wanda Smail Lee, 62, of Wellington will be Monday at 4 p.m. at Wellington Cemetery with Rev. Van Lockridge officiating and Chapel Hill Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Lee died Sunday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Lee of Wellington; three daughters, Andrea Smith of Alexandria, Debbie Snow and Jeannie Stollings, both of Wellington; three brothers, Judson Glass of Birmingham, Earl Glass of Anniston and Stanley Moore of Oxford; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A native of Tuscaloosa, Mrs. Lee had been a Wellington resident for 30 years. She was a former employee of Greyhound and a member of Wellington First Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Wellington First Baptist Church’s Family Life Center.
