Teal

ROANOKE

Services for Dorothy Mae Teal, 79, of Roanoke will be today at 2 p.m. at Arab Memorial Chapel in Arab with Louis Fortner officiating. Burial will be in Ellenburg Cemetery.

Mrs. Teal died Wednesday at her home.

Survivors include three sons, Robert Lee Teal of Anniston, Ronald W. Teal of Havanna, Fla., and Billy C. Teal of Cartersville, Ga.; four daughters, Mary Jane Price and Ruby Berry, both of Arab, Judy Brooks of Eastman, Ga., and Debra Gortney of Roanoke; a brother, Steven Blankenship of Headland; two sisters, Blanche Phillips of Texas and Ruth Owens of New Mexico; 31 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Teal was born in Blount County and was the daughter of Daniel Marion Blankenship and Ruby Mae Riddles Blankenship. She was a homemaker.

Toler

SAKS

Services for Joseph B. Toler, 56, of Saks will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Julie Turner officiating. Burial will be in Anniston Memorial Gardens with full military honors.

Mr. Toler died Thursday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Lee Toler of Saks; a daughter and her husband, Malinda Michelle and Donnie Bowman of Saks; a brother, Scott Toler of Globe, Ariz.; and two grandchildren, Chris Bowman and Jennifer Bowman.

Pallbearers will be William F. Dew Jr., William F. Dew Sr., Charles I. Lee, Michael Lee, David Lee and David Alan Scheer.

Mr. Toler was a Green Beret in the Army. His many honors include the National Defense Medal, the Air Medal, the Bronze Star Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with silver and bronze service star and 13 Purple Hearts. He was a member of MENSA and VFW Post 924.

Triplett

ASHLAND

Services for Larry Triplett, 41, of Ashland will be announced by Benefield Funeral Home of Ashland.

Mr. Triplett died Thursday in Douglas County, Ga.

Turner

Services for Bessie Irene Turner, 82, of Anniston will be today at 2 p.m. at Dryden Funeral Home in Heflin with Rev. Noel Dear officiating. Burial will be in Iron City Cemetery.

Mrs. Turner died Thursday at National Health Care in Anniston.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Sue Turner of Anniston; two sons and their wives, John Willis Turner and Melda Turner of Ohatchee and Cooper Turner Jr. and Sandra Turner of Anniston; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jim Floyd, Wallace Garmon, Ellis Harrell, Donald Murphy, Kenny Nelson and Jimmy Weathington.

Mrs. Turner was a native of the Hopewell Community and had lived in Calhoun County most of her life. She was a housewife and a member of Iron City Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cooper Turner Sr.; and a son, a daughter and a grandchild.

Bright

WADLEY

Services for John Archie Bright, 90, of Wadley, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. S.T. Janney officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 5-8 today at Quattlebaum Funeral Home.

Mr. Bright died Sunday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Vertis Rogers Bright of Wadley; a daughter, Myra Dilene Franklin of Wadley; three sisters, Pardine Jenkins of Old Joe, Ark., Odell Spencer and Estelle Spencer, both of Corinth, Miss.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A native of Mississippi, Mr. Bright was the son of Caleb and Nettie Butler Bright. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and had been employed with Handley Mills.

Evans

Services for Marion H. Evans, 77, of Anniston will be announced by Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory.

Mrs. Evans died Sunday at Regional Medical Center.

Ferguson

GLENCOE

Services for Jimmie Leon Ferguson, 68, of Glencoe, will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Chapel with Revs. Vince Wittington and Mark Cosby officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 this evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Ferguson died Sunday.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Willyne Ferguson of Glencoe; a stepdaughter, Darlene Bedell and her husband, Bill, of Englewood, Fla.; a son, Michael Ferguson and his, wife, Meredith of Anniston; a stepson, Joseph Allison; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, James F. and Mamie Ferguson of Hokes Bluff, Paul R. Ferguson of Leesburg and Henry and Mae Ferguson of Savannah, Ga.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchildren; a very special friend, Dr. Ralph Wilsey.

Pallbearers will be Doug Walker, Bobby Arrington, Don Mitchell, Leon McDowell, Richard Smith, Ray Taylor, Alvin Ferguson and David Ferguson.

Mr. Ferguson was retired from the Anniston Army Depot after 25 years of service. He also was retired from Friden-Singer Office Machine after 19 years. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a Baptist.

Mr. Ferguson was preceded in death by his parents, Henry L. Ferguson and Clarice W. Ferguson; two brothers, Roy Ferguson and Joseph D. Ferguson.

Hutto

TALLADEGA

Services for Jacqueline Harris Hutto, 74, of Talladega, will be 3 p.m. today at Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Clyde Pettus officiating. Burial will follow I the church cemetery with Usrey Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Hutto died Friday at Citizens BMC in Talladega.

Survivors include her husband, Hugh H. Hutto of Talladega; two daughters, Amelia H. Stewart of Bynum and Deborah H. Scott and her husband, Doug, of Calhoun, Ga.; two sisters, Hope Hallowell of Danville, Penn., and Vivian Denty of Vincent; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Paul Hutto, Ronnie Lackey, Joey Hutto, Bobby Denty, Franklin Denty, Greg Sanders, Allen Vines and Bobby Edmisten.

Mrs. Hutto was a native of Vincent and lived in Talladega for the past 55 years. She was a member of United Methodist Church.

Donations may be made to Bethel Methodist Church or Southern Care Hospice of Alexander City.

Landers

ROANOKE

Services for J. Thomas Landers, 85, of Roanoke, will be 11 a.m. today at Roanoke First Baptist Church with Dr. Douglas Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.

Mr. Landers died Saturday at Randolph Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Meacham Landers of Roanoke; one daughter and son-in-law, Harriett and Ken Taylor of Oxford; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Brenda Landers and Bill and Laura Landers, all of Roanoke; a sister, Mary Lee Landers of Roanoke; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Lee Taylor, Mark Higginson, John Higginson, Tom Landers, Ben Landers, Blaine Hathcock and Clayton Landers.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Menís Bible Class and deacons of First Baptist Church of Roanoke.

A lifelong resident of Roanoke, Mr. Landers was the son of Thomas Elmer and Myrtle McCarley Landers. He was a member and emeritus deacon at First Baptist Church of Roanoke, a past member of the Roanoke Rotary Club and had been a banker at The Commercial Bank for 60 years.
