Wallace

PIEDMONT

Services for Imogene Beard Wallace, 92, of Piedmont will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Piedmont with Rev. Derek Smith officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wallace died Thursday in Cedartown, Ga.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Maurine W. and John Abney of Birmingham and Jean W. and Dr. Jerry Weaver of Cedartown; five grandchildren, Fain Edwards Jr., Shannon Edwards Arello, Edward Keith Weaver, Marnie McLaughlin Condomine and Stephanie Weaver Clay; a stepgrandchild, Candace A. Whitaker; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Keith Weaver, Fain Edwards Jr., Jeff Clay, Gordon Kirby, Price Tarpley and Phillip Arello. Honorary pallbearers will be the Fidelis Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Wallace was a native of Jacksonville, Texas and was an honor graduate of Lon Morris College in Jacksonville, Texas and Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, where she was president of Alpha Delta Pi sorority.

After graduation, she moved to Piedmont to teach drama. She was a civic leader in Piedmont. She wrote, produced and directed many plays and productions for charity. She was a former president of the Lions Club Auxiliary, her study club, her missionary society and the Alabama State Dental Auxiliary. She was also a Girl Scout leader, helping Piedmont obtain a Girl Scout house. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Piedmont.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Edward Dorthard Wallace; her parents, Agnes Lucretia Shannon Beard and James Clarence Beard; two sisters, Virginia Beard Acker and Maurine Beard McCain; and a brother, James Milton Beard.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church of Piedmont, 105 N. Main St., Piedmont, AL 36272; or the Piedmont Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 333, Piedmont, AL 36272.

Williams

OXFORD

Services for Peggy Sexton Williams, 64, of Oxford will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory with Rev. Gary Rivers officiating. Burial will be in Forestlawn Mausoleum. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Williams died Thursday at Brookwood Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, James A. Williams of Oxford; a daughter and her husband, Scarlett and Joe Rowe Jr. of Pell City; two sons and their wives, James E. "Jay" and Shelia Williams and Stacy Sexton and Krystal Williams, all of Oxford; four sisters, Billie Faye Sides of Saks, Sue Adams and Jo Ann Middlebrook, both of Oxford and Johnnie Pendergrass of Florida; and five grandchildren, Joshua Williams, Cheyenne Williams, Tyler Williams, Andrew Smith and Dylen Sexton Williams.

Pallbearers will be Rick Taylor, Jack Butterworth, Mark Middlebrook, Steve Adams, Mike Sexton and Stanley Parris.

Mrs. Wiliams was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County. She was preceded in death by four brothers and sisters, Lloyd G. Sexton, Richard Sexton, Margert Croswson and Nathlaie Taylor.

Buttram

CENTRE

Services for Nadine E. Buttram, 79, of Centre will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home with Rev. Jan Stanley officiating. Burial will be in Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Buttram died Friday at her home.

Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Linda Pratt of Centre and Wanda and Anthony Shaw and Vickie Buttram, all of Leesburg; a son and his wife, Jerry and Linda Buttram of Centre; two brothers, Leo Reynolds and Eldridge Reynolds, both of Centre; two sisters, Christine Vines of Rome, Ga. and Inez Davis of Piedmont; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jody Silvers, Lonny Loyd, James Tucker, Stoney Fuqua, Robert Fuqua, Brad Kohl, Benny Drummond and Roger Buttram.

Mrs. Buttram was a native of Cherokee County and was a retired seamstress. She was a member of the Church of God and was preceded in death by her parents, Noah Earl and Daisey Homseley Reynolds.

Champion

COLDWATER

Graveside services for Linda S. Champion, 58, of Coldwater will be today at 2 p.m. at Oak Bowery Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. P.J. Ploof officiating and Mickelsen-McGee Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory.

Mrs. Champion died Wednesday at her home.

Survivors include her ex-husband, Milliard Champion of Coldwater; a daughter, Melody Chiodo of Boca Raton, Fla.; two sons, Milliard Champion Jr. of Jacksonville and Chris Champion of Coldwater; two sisters, Rose Clark of Anniston and Jane Roach of Heflin; and seven grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be family friends.

Mrs. Champion was a lifelong resident of Anniston and a member of Free Will Baptist Church in Bowdon, Ga. She was preceded in death by her parents, Layton and Eulene Robertson; and a brother, James Edward Robertson.

Doyle

EUFAULA

Services for Dr. James C. Doyle, 69, of Eufaula were Friday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Burial was in Memory Garden Cemetery with Chapman Funeral Home in charge.

Dr. Doyle died Wednesday at Lakeview Community Hospital in Eufaula.

Survivors include his wife, Cherry Doyle of Eufaula; five daughters and their husbands, Julie and Butch Ashcraft of Huntsville, Susan and Dr. John Bumgarner of Raleigh, N.C., Mary Ann and Glenn Waddell of Birmingham, Amy and Dr. David Emerson of Anniston, and Dr. Ellen and Jay Phillips of Augusta, Ga.; two brothers, William Henry Doyle Jr. of Montgomery and Clifford Bourke Doyle of Foley; and 13 grandchildren, James Ashcraft, Mary Frances Ashcraft, Beth Anne Ashcraft, John Ashcraft, Jonathan Waddell, Margaret Ann Waddell, Emily Waddell, Stuart Emerson, Stephen Emerson, Abby Emerson, Brent Phillips, Rachel Phillips and Jeff Phillips.

Pallbearers were Drs. James Lockwood, Melvin Oakley, Gus Saville, John Jackson, Tim Shaw, Jeff Bush, Richard Whitehurst, Kenneth Yohn and Jimmy McGilvary.

Dr. Doyle was born in Troy and was the son of the late William Henry Doyle Sr. and Helen Corcoran Doyle. He had been a radiologist on staff of Lakeview Community Hospital for more than 32 years.

Services for Santana Blair Field, 15, of Heflin will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Cornerstone Worship Center with Revs. Michael Cox and Chad Pesnell officiating. Burial will be in Hepsabah Cemetery with Dryden Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends 5-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Miss Field died Thursday.

Survivors include her father and stepmother, Chester Alan and Amy Jo Towsley Field of Nora Springs, Iowa; her mother and stepfather, Billie Faye and Bobby Wayne Langley of Heflin; two sisters, Samantha Marie Brandenstein of Heflin and Hallie Jo Field of Nora Springs; three brothers, Steven Wayne Brandenstein and Chad Joseph Field, both of Heflin and Dallas Burns Field of Nora Springs; and her grandparents, Barbara and Billy Turley and Loraine Richardson, all of Heflin, and Dennis and Sharon Field of Nora Springs.

Pallbearers will be Billy Bryant, Buddy Butler, Cody Collum, Bradley Cox, Todd O'Dell and Jessie Rutledge.

Miss Field was a lifelong resident of Cleburne County and attended Cleburne County High School. She was a member of Cornerstone Worship Center and the Cleburne County High School Danceline.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cleburne County High School Band Boosters Club.

Graveside services for Robert E. Haynes, 71, of Greenville will be today at 1 p.m. at Clay County Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ben Rosser officiating and Dunklin-Herndon Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends noon to 12:45 p.m. today at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland.

Mr. Haynes died Wednesday.

Survivors include two daughters, Kim Herman of Georgiana and Vanessa Haynes of Greenville; two sons, Kelly Haynes of Andalusia and Kyle Haynes of Greenville; and five grandchildren.
