Services for George Harrell, 92, of Munford will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home in Oxford with Rev. Curtis Collett officiating. Burial will be in Sunny Eve Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Harrell died Thursday at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include five sons, Charlie Harrell and Oscar Harrell, both of Munford and Terry Harrell, Kenneth Harrell and David Ray Harrell, all of Oxford; two daughters, Vernell Brooks of DeArmanville and Georgia Mae Harrell of Oxford; 21 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Mr. Harrell was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Harrell, and a daughter, Brenda Poore.

Services for Sylvester Lee Jemison, 68, of Anniston will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Quinton Woods officiating. Burial will be in Eden Hills Cemetery with Anniston Funeral Service in charge.

Mr. Jemison died Saturday at NHC Place.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary Alice Jemerson of Anniston, Cynthia Caldwell of Munford and Joyce Fair of Columbus, Ga.; a stepdaughter, Judette Cowden of Anniston; a son, Charlie B. Turner of Atlanta; three sisters, Willa Dean Riggs and Thelma Frederich, both of Detroit and Jewel Seymore of Anniston; a brother, Calvin Jemison of Cleveland; 18 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Jemison was a native of Anniston and a member of Jerusalem AFM Church of God.

Services for Willie J. Jenkins, 71, of Anniston, formerly of Silver Run, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church in Barfield with Rev. L.W. Heard officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Anniston Funeral Service in charge. The body will be at the church two hours prior to services.

Mr. Jenkins died Sunday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Packard of Fresno, Calif., and Cathleen Whitlow of Germany; three sons, Willie J. Jenkins Jr. of Visalia, Calif., Willie Lee Jenkins of Fresno and John Henry Turner of Munford; his mother, Bunnie McCullare; four sisters, Ida Mae Walton of Atlanta, Peggy Jenkins of New Haven, Conn., Lummie Matthews of Anniston and Betty Matthew of Hartford, Conn.; two brothers, Jack Neal Jenkins of Anniston and Willie Lee Jenkins of Lincoln; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Robert E. Randall, 90, of Marietta will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Oxford Memorial Gardens with Brown and Kughn Memory Chapel in charge.

Mr. Randall died Thursday in Marietta.

Services for Rachel Kaye Smith, 18, of Ranburne will be today at 2 p.m. at Freedom Baptist Church in Ranburne with Revs. Vann Williamson and Jerome Whaley officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Dryden Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Miss Smith died Wednesday at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham.

Survivors include her parents, Bobby Smith and Kaye Smith of Ranburne; two brothers, Samuel Smith and Benjamin Smith, both of Ranburne; and her grandparents, Junior Smith and Joyce Smith of Heflin, Herman Adams and Dorothy Adams of Ranburne and Charles Vaughn of Roopville, Ga.

Pallbearers will be Brent Turner, Rodney Skinner, Martin Hendrix, Davis Vaughn, Terry Gibson and Daniel Harris.

Miss Smith was a lifelong resident of Ranburne and had been a student at Ranburne High School. She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Glenn and Dorothy Gibson.

Services for Marie Estell Smoot Stamps, 90, of Alpine will be Saturday at noon at Mt. Zion Christian Methodist Episcopal Church with George P. Hill Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Terry’s Metropolitan Mortuary in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mrs. Stamps died Sunday at Talladega Health Care Center.

Survivors include a son, John T. Stamps Jr. of Alpine; a stepson, J.W. Wooden of Florida; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be stewards and trustees of Mt. Zion C.M.E. Church.

Mrs. Stamps was a member of Mt. Zion C.M.E. Church, where she served as president of the missionary society, a stewardess, treasurer of the Sunday school and custodian and lunchroom supervisor. She was a former employee of Robert Russa Moton High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Stamps Sr.; a son, Walter Stamps; her parents, Mack Smoot and Callie Mitchell Smoot; a foster son, Eric Lynn Chatman; a sister, Mattie Lee; and a brother, Mack Smoot Jr.

Services for Bessie M. Britt, 67, of Wadley will be today at 3 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Rev. Jessie Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Bethany Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home until service time today.

Mrs. Britt died Saturday at Clay County Nursing Home.

Survivors include one son, Tommy Johnson of Aiken, S.C.; one stepdaughter, Nanette Britt of Belvedere, S.C.; one stepson, Ricky Britt of Warrenville, S.C.; one sister, Merle Mitchum of South Carolina; one brother, Herman Mason of Georgia; and one granddaughter, Gabrielle Johnson of Aiken.

Mrs. Britt was a native of Tift County, Georgia and had lived in Clay County for the past 25 years. She was a retired registered nurse and supervisor with Clay County Hospital and a member of the County Line Baptist Church.

Services for Ronald Griffin, 55, of Anniston will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory with Rev. Bud Putnam officiating. Burial will at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Griffin died Saturday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Nadine Smith Griffin of Anniston; one daughter, Kristy Griffin of Anniston; one son, Douglas Griffin of Talladega; one daughter-in-law, Melinda Griffin of Talladega; one brother, Gene Griffin of Tuscaloosa; one sister, Phyllis Ortiz of Rialta, Calif; and one grandchild, Hayden Haynes.

Pallbearers will be David Estes, Tony Mitchell, Mel Griffin, Bobby Smith, Alan Green and Phil Morgan. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Turley, Lucy Turley, Westley Turley, Jason Camp, Chris Anders, Neva Estes, Marvin Estes, Terry Hamilton, Martha Martin, Floyd Martin, Brenda Hamilton, Gerald Hamilton and members of the West Park Heights Baptist Church.

Mr. Griffin was a native of Tuscaloosa and had been a resident of Anniston for the past nine years. He was an Air Force and Vietnam veteran and served a tour of duty in Japan. He was a member of West Park Heights Baptist Church and owned United Systems home security systems. He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Evelyn Griffin.

Services for Mildred I. Hanvey, 81, of Anniston will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Gray Brown-Service Crematory and Mortuary with Rev. Finley Holbrook officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight.

Mrs. Hanvey died Friday at NHC Place.

Survivors include one sister, Aileen Hall of Anniston; a stepmother, Louise Chapman of Oxford; one stepsister, Hazel Judah of Georgia; one stepbrother, Howard Norton of Anniston; one niece, Gale Jarrett of Los Angeles; and one nephew, Jerry Hall of Louisville, Ky.

Pallbearers will be Donald McCarry, Wayne Thrasher, John Mitchell, Ken Carter, Nolan Sims and Andy Wilson.

Mrs. Hanvey was a native and lifelong resident of Anniston. She was a member of West Anniston Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Hanvey.

Services for Marvin Youil Holcomb, 67, of Cedar Bluff will be today at 2 p.m. at Perry Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Cagle officiating. Burial will be in Cherokee Memory Gardens.

Mr. Holcomb died Saturday at Cherokee Baptist Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Teena Thacker Holcomb; one son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Sheryl Holcomb of Fort Payne; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Wayne Smith of Cedar Bluff and Shelby and Steve Romine of Birmingham; five grandchildren, Kris Holcomb and his wife, Mandy, Dustin Holcomb, Ashley Romine, Allison Romine, Brody Smith; and Jerry and Susan Bright.

Pallbearers will be Roger Buttram, Don Walker, David Walker, Sammy Lamar, Garry Rice and Rodney Acker. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Brian Perry, Mark Snead, Cherokee Baptist Medical Nursing Service and Home Health Services.

Mr. Holcomb was a native of Cherokee County, the son of the late Youil and Milissie Bright Holcomb. He was retired from General Electric and a member of Enon Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Holcomb served on the board of Cherokee Electric Co-op for six years. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Michelle Smith, his brother, Leroy Holcomb and his sister, Faye Payton.

Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the family will accept flowers.

Services for Onward Patrick Holloway, 76, of Newell will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Chapel in Wedowee with Rev. Douglas Haynes officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends today after 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Holloway died Saturday at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.

Survivors include two sisters, Cordell Adamson of Wedowee and Reatha Daniel of Roanoke; three brothers, Esul Holloway of Newell, J.D. Holloway of Bowdon and Doyle Holloway of Wedowee; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Larry Woody, Henry Caldwell, Billy Edwards, Buddy Holloway, Marion Holloway and Gary Holloway.

Mr. Holloway was a Randolph County native, and the son of Pleasant Mann and Myrtle Bailey Holloway. He was a farmer and World War II Army veteran. He was preceded in death by two wives, Lottie Traylor Holloway and Myrtle Bailey Holloway; and a son, Michael Holloway.
