Alexander

LINEVILLE

Services for Charles M. “Old Man” Alexander, 65, of Lineville were Monday at 11 a.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville.

Revs. George McKenzie and Hugh Pesnell officiated.

Burial was in Edgemont Cemetery in Anniston.

Mr. Alexander died Saturday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Daisy Mae Alexander of Lineville; four sons, Charles M. Alexander Jr. of Abel, Michael L. Alexander of Ragland, Patrick Mark Alexander of Oxford and Russell Alan Alexander of Rainbow City; a stepdaughter, Sharon Nowland of Lineville; a stepson, Mike Waldrop of Lineville; a sister, Linda Gail Seidner of Lineville; and a brother, Lewis “Max” Alexander of Orlando, Fla.

Pallbearers were Frankie Dingler, Chris Waldrop, Rudolph Bates, Roger Nowland, Joey Daugherty, Gary Dingler and Wayne Jinks.

Mr. Alexander was a native of Bremen, Ga., a former resident of Oxford, and had lived in Clay County 22 years.

He was a longtime employee of RC Bottling Co. in Anniston before it closed and had been employed by Wellborn Cabinet Co. for 12 years.

He was a Baptist and was preceded in death by a son, Randy Joe Waldrop.

Allinder

OXFORD

Graveside services for Maeola P. Allinder, 89, of Oxford will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Forestlawn Gardens with Rev. Jenny Gallman officiating and Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory in charge.

The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Allinder died Monday at Beverly Health Care Center.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Linda and Wayne Warren of Orange Beach; a son and his wife, Billy Joe and Evelyn Allinder of Oceanside, Calif.; nine grandchildren, Joseph Allinder, Spence Allinder, Chad Allinder, Ginger Dodd, Allison Franklin, Matthew Warren, Ashleigh Warren, Stacy Williams and Sherry Langford, 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Chad Allinder, Spence Allinder, Wayne Warren, Matthew Warren, Joseph Peoples and Joseph Allinder.

Mrs. Allinder was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Allinder, and a son, Thomas A. Allinder.

Birdsall

OXFORD

Graveside services for Norval Stanley Birdsall, 73, of Oxford will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Salt Creek Cemetery with Rev. Mack Finney officiating and Miller Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Birdsall died Saturday at Rivermont Nursing Home in South Pittsburgh, Tenn.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline Birdsall of Oxford; a son, Buddy Birdsall of Munford; three daughters, Angie Brooks of Ashland, Michelle Miller of Talladega and Teresa Fulmer of Montgomery; a stepdaughter, Mary Lou Helton; a stepson, Larry Gene Helton; a brother, Buddy Kirchner, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, 15 step-great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.

Mr. Birdsall was a longtime resident of Calhoun County and was retired from Anniston Army Depot.

Butler

SAND ROCK

Services for Aubrey Lacheston Butler, 77, of Sand Rock will be today at 1:30 p.m. at Perry Funeral Home in Centre with Rev. Scott Hosey officiating.

Burial will be in Sand Rock Cemetery.

Mr. Butler died Saturday at his home.

Survivors include a son, Allen Butler of Smyrna, Ga.; a sister and her husband, Kathryn and Gerald Duke of College Park, Ga.; two nieces, Barbara Holcomb and Terri Amelio and her husband, Doug; a nephew and his wife, Bruce and Sonna Duke; two great-nephews, Steven and Michael Duke; and two great-nieces, Tina Michelle Holcomb and Brandie Duke.

Mr. Butler was a native of Cherokee County and was the son of the late Claude and Lena Parker Butler.

He was retired from Eastern Airlines and was a member of Sand Rock Baptist Church.

He was a World War II veteran, having served with the 69th Calvary.

Services for Cederick Lamar Butler, 26, of Talladega will be announced by Sims Funeral Service.

Mr. Butler died Saturday at Citizens Baptist Medical Center.

Cobb

Services for Jot Wilburn Cobb Jr., 85, of Anniston were Sunday at noon at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory.

Rev. Stanley Owen officiated.

Burial was in Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Cobb died Friday at his home.

Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn McCareeth of Oxford and Loretta Bonner of Anniston; a son, David Lamar Cobb of Huntsville; a brother, Marvin Cobb of Oxford; seven grandchildren, Greg McCareeth, Roger McCareeth, Lorie Cobb, Daniel Cobb, Leah Cobb, Wendy Bonner and Tanya Bonner; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan McCareeth and Cameron McCareeth.

Mr. Cobb was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County.

He was retired from the U.S. Forestry Service and had served as choir director and a deacon of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church for many years.

He was a World War II veteran and was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Brown Cobb.

Daffron

Services for Sylvia Gorey Daffron, 58, of Anniston will be today at 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Anniston with Revs.

Woodfin Grove and Tom Bell officiating. Burial will be in Anniston Memorial Gardens with Brown and Kughn Memory Chapel in charge.

Mrs. Daffron died Saturday in Anniston.

Survivors include her husband, Robert A. Daffron of Anniston; a daughter, Karen Daffron of Tuscaloosa; a son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Jennifer Daffron of Dothan; a sister Faye Robinson of Anniston; her mother-in-law, Margaret Daffron; two grandchildren Garrett Daffron and Emily Daffron; two nieces, Marsha Jones and Sonya Weber; and a nephew, Kevin Hanson.

Mrs. Daffron was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County, where she was a 1965 graduate of Jacksonville State University.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Anniston, where she served as the senior pastor’s secretary for 32 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Violet Gorey.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Anniston, 1400 Noble St., Anniston, AL, 36201; or the National Kidney Foundation of Alabama, 562 Clay St., Montgomery, AL 36104.

Finocchiaro

RIVERDALE, Ga.

Services for John Daniel Finocchiaro, 23, of Riverdale will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Ethridge officiating.

Burial will be in Dogwood Trails Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 5-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Finocchiaro died Sunday at his home.

Survivors include his father, Thomas Finocchiaro of Riverdale; a son, Anthony Michael Finocchiaro of Union City, Ga.; two grandmothers, Ann Shears of Oxford and Rita Finocchiaro of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and a sister, Gina Marie Finocchiaro of Riverdale.

Hamilton

Services for Ivary M. Hamilton, 91, of Anniston will be today at 2 p.m. at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory with Revs.

Lewis Bowen and Tim Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Edgemont Cemetery.

Mrs. Hamilton died Sunday at her home.

Survivors include two daughters, Lucy Wilkerson of Gadsden and Ona McCord of Orange Park, Fla.; two sons, James A. Thomas and Charles R. Thomas, both of Anniston; two sisters, Thelma Turner of Eastaboga and Gladys Rosamond of Oxford, 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Billy Ray Thomas, James Thomas Jr., Eugene Wilkerson, Charles Thomas, Larry Thomas, Kenneth Thomas, Thomas Thomas and John Hamilton.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Faith Bible Class of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hamilton was a native of St. Clair County and had lived in Anniston most of her life.
She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and was preceded in death by two sons, Billy Joe Thomas and Jerry Hamilton.
