TAMMY LOVELL MYLES

ASHLAND Funeral service for Tammy Lovell Myles, 43, of 360 Patty Lane, will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Darryl Wood officiating. Burial will be in Old Field Cemetery.

Ms. Myles died June 2. She was preceded in death by her father, John Myles. She was a member of Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal of Zion Church until 1990 and later attended and sang in the choir at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. She was formerly employed by Tyson Foods and Bob Kat Xpress and was a high school graduate.

She is survived by daughter, Tahirah Nicole Myles of Ashland; son, Rajohn Myles of Sylacauga; her mother, Wilmer Lee of Ashland; stepfather, Bobby Moore of Newark, N.J.; sisters, Sherri Haywood of Ashland and Tiffany George of Newark, N.J.; brother, Robert L. Lee Jr. of Ashland; one grandchild and her fiance', Eddie Hayes of Anniston.

The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.

Pallbearers will be Scottie McClain, Reg McClain, Lamar Oden, Eric Lampley, Marcus Ballard and John Adair.

Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the service.

MICHAEL D. SWANN

PELL CITY Funeral service for Michael D. Swann, 44, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Massillon, Ohio, with the Rev. Joseph Harldess officiating.

Mr. Swann died June 5. He was a 1976 graduate of Washington High School in Massillon, Ohio where he won honors in basketball. He was All Ohio Big 8 Conference, All Ohio candidate with 401 points in 19 games finishing with a 21.1 average. After winning a full scholarship in basketball, he attended the University of Spartanburg in South Carolina. He served in the National Guard. He worked for the last six years as a welder. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles D. Swann III.

He is survived by his wife, Annette Hill Swann of Pell City; father, Charles D. Swann of Ashville; mother, Ruby Swann Crleder of Massillon, Ohio; sons, Darmus Swann of Spartanburg, S.C. and Michael Swann Jr. of Canton, Ohio; sisters, Veronica Young Taylor of Canton, Ohio, Anneerah R. Salton of Massillon, Ohio, Nikia Swann of Decatur and Charlene Nash of Akron, Ohio; and a host of relatives.

Abanks Mortuary will direct the service.

MARGIE ALIENE BROOKS

SYLACAUGA Funeral service for Margie Aliene Brooks, 94, will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacauga with the Rev. Allen Davis officiating. Burial will be in Coldwater Baptist Cemetery in Coldwater.

Mrs. Brooks died June 10 at Wilbanks Health Care Services in Sylacauga. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin M. Brooks.

She is survived by sons, Edgar Brooks and wife Wynell Brooks of Childersburg and Michael Brooks and wife Judy Brooks of Mt. Olive; daughter, Jennie Burleson and husband Robert Burleson of Carrollton, Ga.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

JESSIE MAE CASH

ASHVILLE Funeral service for Jessie Mae Cash, 62, will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel in Leeds. Burial will be in Branchville Cemetery.

Mrs. Cash died June 9. She worked for Alabama Sheriff's Boys and Girls Ranches for 30 years.

She is survived by her husband, Marvin Cash; daughter, Jackie Harless; sisters, Jean Browning and Joyce Gowins and one grandson.

Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds will direct the service.

ROSA PAULINE BURNHAM DEAN

TALLADEGA Funeral service for Rosa Pauline Burnham Dean, 76, will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Daniel Stetler, the Rev. Horace Hudgins and the Rev. Dennis Hartman officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Pell City.

Mrs. Dean died June 9 at her residence. She was born Jan. 21, 1927 in Talladega and lived most of her early life in Pell City. She taught 31 years in the public school systems in Florida, Georgia, Mississippi; finishing her teaching career in the Talladega County School System. She also taught piano for a number of years. She graduated from Pell City High School in 1945. She received her Th.B. degree from Central Wesleyan College in Central, S.C., in 1949 and her A.B. degree from Birmingham-Southern College in 1961. In 1971, she received her Master of Education from Auburn University.

She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Leon Dean of Talladega; daughter, Pamela Thomson of Talladega; her mother, Audrey Burnham of Pell City; sisters, Patty B. Bean of Bynum and Eleanor Fae Harris of Pell City; brothers, Nathan Eugene Burnham of Cleveland, Ohio and two grandchildren, Alex Thomson Jr. and Diana Thomson.

Pallbearers will be Harold Bean, Charles Dean Jr., Tillmon Harris, Glen Loftis, Roger Stratton, Dayton Cook, Burt Haynes and Mike Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Jimmy Davis and staff, retired teachers of Talladega County, Jake Montgomery, Jerry Studdard, Howard Bussie, Dr. Tom West and staff, Dr. Louis Pappas and Dr. Windsor.

Usrey Funeral Home will direct the service.

JESSIE WAYNE HAYES

TALLADEGA Graveside service for Jessie Wayne (Bunk) Hayes, 55, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Fayetteville Cemetery with the Rev. James Castleberry officiating.

Mr. Hayes died June 9 at his residence.

He is survived by sons, Larry Wayne Hayes of Childersburg and Barry Glenn Hayes of Hampton, Ga.; daughters, Kimberly Diane Hayes of Sylacauga and Sona Toniette (Sunshine) Hayes of Griffin, Ga.; sister, Irene Castleberry of Cropwell and eight grandchildren.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel will direct the service.

MARY ESTELL SPRUIELL

VANDIVER Funeral service for Mary Estell (Maw) Spruiell, 93, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel in Leeds. Burial will be in Sulphur Springs Cemetery.

Mrs. Spruiell died June 9. She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. James Ernest Spruielll; son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Barbara (Dodd) Spruiell; son and daughter-in-law, James Ellis and Mona Sue (Davis) Spruiell; two brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by son, Chester Spruiell; daughters, Frances Watson and Sue Myers; sister, Clara Dell Tucker; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:30 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Donations may be made to the Alzheimers' Association, Diabetic Association or Lung Association.

JUANITA NELSON WEEKLEY

BIRMINGHAM Funeral service for Juanita Nelson Weekley, 70, will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. Sherri Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Community Cemetery.

Mrs. Weekley died June 9. She was the youngest of five daughters of Mr. and Mrs. M.L. Nelson of Pell City. She graduated from Pell City High School and worked at the St. Clair News-Aegis before joining the Birmingham Post-Herald in the late 1950s, where she was a writer and food editor in the women's department. In the early 1970s she moved to Greensboro, N.C., where she accepted a position as women's editor of the Greensboro Record. She later became managing editor of that newspaper. When the Greensboro Record and the Greensboro News joined operations, she became metro editor of the Greensboro News and Record. In North Carolina, she was a member of many professional groups and was president of the North Carolina Presswomen. Upon retirement she returned to Birmingham in 1990 where she was a member of the Birmingham Music Club Guild, English Speaking Union, Republican Women's Club, Ventures Club and the Birmingham Humane Society. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Nelson Hess of Houston, Texas.

She is survived by sisters, Virginia Nelson Posey of Birmingham, Evelyn N. Whatley (Dick) of Pell City and Jeanne Nelson Mullins (George) of Bridge City, Texas; nieces, Roxanne Bukacek Douyard (Tom) of Riverside, Arabella Tatum (Bill) of Birmingham, Leah Shaw of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Maureen Croley of Beaumont, Texas and Melissa Phillips of Austin, Texas and nephew, George B. Mullins III of Sterling, Va.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Lakeside Hospice, Inc., P.O. Box 544, Pell City, Ala., 35125 or the Birmingham Humane Society.

Pallbearers will be Hal Johnson, Bill Tatum, Boomer Meason, Tom Douyard, Phil Cochran, Jim Rawls, George B. Mullins III and Sam Meason.

Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

ROSA PAULINE BURNHAM DEAN

PELL CITY Felix Brown, 41, died June 10 at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham.

ANNISTON Thomas J. Clark, 81, died June 9 at Jacksonville Medical Center.

EULA CONLEY

HOBSON CITY Eula Conley, 62, died June 11 at her residence.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Ervin Funeral Chapel in Anniston.
