SCHNELL, Miss Jean Ann, of Lewisville, Texas passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday July 27, 2005. Jean Ann was born on October 18, 1945 in Tallassee, Alabama and was the oldest daughter of the late Gene D. Schnell and Melvia Schnell. She is survived by her mother Melvia, brother Lieutenant Colonel Lee D. Schnell and his wife Karen, sister Nancy Mills and her husband Michael and their sons and daughter as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. She had many, many friends from Park Cities Presbyterian Church in Dallas, Texas where she was a member and the Southwestern Medical Chemo Clinic and the Dallas Market Hall. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2005 with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 5 Arden Road Montgomery, Alabama. HORN, Horace Clinton Sr., 97, of Hope Hull died in Atlanta, GA July 29, 2005 after a brief illness. A longtime resident of Montgomery, he was employed by American Telephone and Telegraph for forty years and a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church. Until recently he was an active gardener, using his tractor and sharing his vegetables with family and friends. Clint Horn was the son of Peter Alexander Horn and Miranda Etheridge Horn. He was born Nov. 3, 1907 in Waubeak, AL. He is survived by his wife of 73 years Anna Campbell Horn, son H. Clinton Horn, Jr. and his wife Carol-Jane Horn of Atlanta, daughter Anita Horn Anderson and her husband William L. Anderson of Charlottesville, VA, grandson Matthew Clinton Horn and his wife Laura Horn of Richmond, VA, grandson Bryan David Horn of Savannah, GA, granddaughter Amy E. Anderson and great granddaughters Paula Young and Katherine L. Young of Belleview, Washington and numerous nieces and nephews. LANKFORD, Glen Lamar, 78, a resident of Montgomery, passed away at home Wednesday, September 28, 2005. He was born July 11, 1927 in State Line, Mississippi and had been a resident of Montgomery, Alabama since 1957. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Helen B. Lankford; his children, Terrell G. Lankford and his wife Katie, Phillip R. Lankford and his wife Jana, all of Montgomery; five grandchildren, Drew, Tyler, Brett, Peyton and Pierce; one sister, Iola Sansing of Gloster, Mississippi. Pallbearers will be Ed Rutledge, Haywood Sellers, Ellis Harris, Leon Ford, Drew Lankford, Tyler Lankford and Brett Lankford. Honorary pallbearers are the members of Paul Bailey's Sunday School Class at Morningview Baptist Church. Mr. Lankford had a 37 year career with Modern Credit and C & S Financial Services. He was an avid hunter and loved to work in his garden. He faithfully served at Morningview Baptist Church as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, brotherhood chairman and finance chairman for 48 years. He also served as PTA President of Morningview Elementary, PTA President of Capital Heights Junior High School, President of the South Montgomery Kiwanis Club and on the Board of Directors of Consumer Credit Counseling. He was a loving husband and father, and a true gentleman and will be missed by all who knew him. HUIE, Mrs. Carolyn Hollis Berry, age 86, a resident of Montgomery, passed away at her home on Tuesday, September 27, 2005, after a long illness. She was a Christian, a devoted daughter and a devoted and loving wife and mother. She was the oldest of three children, born to Irene Ogletree Hollis and Millard Filmore Berry. She was born April 7, 1919 in Selma, Al. She grew up in Birmingham, spending much of her early years in Thomaston and in Deatsville, Alabama. She attended Birmingham Public Schools and graduated from West End High School in 1936. She attended Alabama College (Montevallo) in 1936-1940 and was one of the first recipients of the Linley Heflin Scholarship for young women. She graduated in 1940 with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Home Economics,and was a member of The Delta Kappa Gamma honorary society. Mrs. Huie began her teaching career in Aliceville, Al. She taught there and at Tarrant High School during WWII. She married Lt. Herbert M. Huie, USNR from Deatsville, her childhood sweetheart. They wed in Boston, Mass., on October 4, 1943 and were married 60 years when Mr. Huie passed. After the war, she taught at Tuskegee High School, where Mr. Huie was the principle and a former coach. She taught in the Birmingham Public School System in the 1950's-1960's at Stonewall Jackson and L.M. Smith Elementary Schools and at Woodlawn High School. The Huies lived in several states during Mr. Huies career with the Federal Government and returned to Montgomery where he worked for the State Judicial System and she was a homemaker. After her husband's retirement, they enjoyed traveling to many places and researching genealogy about their families. Mrs. Huie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brother, Colonel Millard F. Berry, III, USAF. She is survived by her three children; Mrs. Carolyn H. (Riley) Thornton, Panama City, Fl., two sons, Herbert M. Huie, Jr., Montgomery, Al., ; David L. (Carla) Huie; her sister, Mr. Frances B. (Clarence I.) Reeves, Pine Mountain, Al.; her five grandchildren; Mary Frances (David) Dominick, Carolyn Jane (David) Ingram, Panama City, Fl., David Riley Thornton, Franklin, Tenn., Kimberly G. (Terry) Garrett and Karri G. (Kevin) Booth of Troy, Al.; four great grandchildren, Susannah Swanson, Andrew Dominick and Randall Dominick of Lynn Haven, FL., and Molly Reagan Garrett, Troy, Al., and numerous nieces and nephews.
