Mr. Paul Hodges

Mr. Paul Anderson Hodges, age 37, of De Queen, Arkansas, died Sunday, December 9, 2007 in the De Queen Medical Center.

He was born to Carl Edwards Hodges and Linda Carol Peugh Hodges at Fayetteville, Arkansas on January 22, 1970, and was a truck driver and a welder. He was Baptist and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his father, and a sister, Carla Hodges.

He is survived by his mother, Linda Bowens of De Queen; four brothers: John Aaron Hodges, Sr. and Mathew Hodges both of De queen, Ryan Pharr of Iowa City, IA, and Trevor Hodges of Idabel, OK; one sister, Joann Hodges of Lockesburg, AR; three nieces and two nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Paul Hodges will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 13, 2007 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Tommy Blount officiating. Burial will follow in the Beacon Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Mr. Omagene Quentin Morris, Sr.

Mr. Omagene Quentin Morris, Sr., age 83, a resident of DeQueen, died Saturday, December 8, 2007 at his home.

He was born August 4, 1924 to Jesse Felix and Lela Deshazo Morris. He was a World War II veteran serving with the 175th Infantry Regiment, 29th Division Blue and Gray and the Able Company in The European Theater. He returned to Walnut Springs where he was a lifelong farmer and cattle rancher. He was a Methodist.

Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Bobby Ray Morris; infant daughter; three brothers, J.T., Theo and Leo Morris.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jerry Ann Morris; three sons and daughters-in-law, Quentin and Callie Morris of Texarkana, Texas, Kenneth and Joan Carroll of Clifton, Virginia and J.F. and Casey Morris of Benton, Arkansas; three daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Harris Kramer of De Queen, Arkansas, Pollyanna and Steve Smith of Horatio, Arkansas and Barbara and Ned Batchelor of St. Louis, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren, Jason and Shane Morris; Matthew Carroll; Jack Morris; Kirstin Bowens; Michael and Amy Kramer; Jeffery, Joshua, Jonathan and Jacob Smith; Christopher, Benjamin and Casey Batchelor. Seven great-grandchildren, Lakeyn and Conner Smith; Jayce Clark; Kylie and Spencer Bowens; Morgan and Keira Kramer.

Funeral Services for Mr. Morris will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 11, 2007 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen with Rev. Coy Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in the Millwee Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 10th at the funeral home.

Norma Jean Kesterson Best

Mrs. Norma Jean Kesterson Best, age 66, a resident of Gillham, died Thursday, December 6, 2007 in the Dubuis Health System, Texarkana, Texas.

She was born to Arthur L. and Gladys Bishop Kesterson on March 16, 1941, at De Queen, Arkansas. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gillham, and was a homemaker. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, and her flowers.

She was preceded in death by her father, and a son, James Michael Best in 1996.

She is survived by her husband of over 48 years, James Best of Gillham, her mother, Gladys Barnes of Longview, Texas, a brother, Coy Kesterson of Longview, Texas, one niece and two nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Norma Jean Best will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 8th with Rev. Bob McManus officiating. Burial will follow in the Gillham Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 7th.

Mr. Johnny Lee Trulock

Mr. Johnny Lee Trulock, age 79, a resident of De Queen, died Thursday, December 6, 2007 in the De Queen Medical Center, De Queen.

He was born to Antlers, Oklahoma on February 24, 1928. He was retired from Pilgrim’s Pride, and enjoyed fishing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Trulock. He is survived by three step-daughters, Bertha Loyd and Jo Ann Walker both of De Queen, and Alta Klitz of Haworth, Okla.

There are no funeral services planned. Arrangements under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

James M. "Jim" Tudor

James M. "Jim" Tudor, 73, of Natural Dam, died Thursday, December 6, 2007 at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith.

He was born April 14, 1934 in Crawford County, AR. He was a retired international Union Representative of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America and a former board member of Western Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma Beekeepers Association.

He is survived by his wife, Nina, of the home; five children, Wallace Tudor and his wife Patricia of Natural Dam, AR, J.D. Tudor and his wife Paula of Lufkin, TX, Wes Tudor of Winthrop, AR, Mark McMillin and his wife Edie of Poteau, OK, and Melissa Culverson and her husband Mike of Fort Smith, AR; two sisters, Velma Carter of Natural Dam, AR and Anna Morton of Van Buren, AR; two brothers, Raymond Tudor of Natural Dam, AR and Ray Tudor of Natural Dam, AR; 11 grandchildren, two great grandchildren,

Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 10, 2007 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Hall Cemetery in Natural Dam, AR under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.

The family will visit with friends from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, December 9, 2007 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Hwy, Van Buren, AR.

Mrs. Pearl Alice Frachiseur

Mrs. Pearl Alice Frachiseur, age 75, a resident of Grannis, AR died Wednesday, December 5, 2007 in the Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, TX.

She was born November 4, 1932 in Strang, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker, a graduate of Lifetime Art Institute and a member of Friendship Baptist Church in De Queen. In her spare time she wrote poetry.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Jones, and a grandson, B. J. Russell.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmie Frachiseur of Grannis; her children: Kerry Frachiseur of Grannis, Belinda McKenzie and her husband Alvin of Grannis, Jane Farley and her husband Ronald of Gillham, AR, and George Frachiseur and his wife Maryann of Grannis; two sisters: Vera Alexander of Muskogee, OK and Christine Groomer of Farmington, NM; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Frachiseur will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, December 8, 2007 in the Holly Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. George Frachiseur and Rev. Homer Frachiseur officiating. burial will follow in the Holly Grove Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home, De Queen.

Mr. Allen Lee Beasley

Allen Lee "Booty" Beasley, age 22, a resident of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, died Wednesday, December 5, 2007 in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

He was born February 14, 1985 in Texarkana, Texas to Lee and Kay Allen.

He is survived by his father, Lee Allen of De Queen,; his mother, Kay Rehm Allen of Horatio; his brothers and sisters: Kim Webb of Chicota, TX, Kevin Pope of Broken bow, OK, Kari Rodriguez of De Queen, Mickey Beasley of Cushing, TX, Richard Allen of Bogota, TX, Mitchell Beasley of Foreman, Jackie Gonzalez and Ginger Chandler, both of De Queen, Jeremy Rehm and K.C. Allen both of Horatio; and a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 9, 2007 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home chapel.

Mrs. Helen Irene Wray

Mrs. Helen Irene Wray, age 84, resident of Lockesburg, AR lost her long battle to Alzheimer's December 3, 2007 at Little River Memorial Hospital in Ashdown, AR.

She was born July 2, 1923 in Du Quoin, IL to Calvin and Bertha May Stephson Ridgeway. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Wray was preceded in death by her parents; two children: David Crockett Wray and Jacqueline Ann eager; two sisters: Velma Ridgeway and Betty Killman.

Mrs. Wray was survived by her husband of 65 years, Paul Crockett Wray of Lockesburg, AR; one daughter, Nila Ruth Hill of Corpus Christi, TX; two sons: James Calvin Wray of Mineral Springs and Paul Clinton Wray of Lockesburg; two brothers, Lester Ridgeway of Du Quoin, IL and Calvin Ridgeway of Heston, Kansas; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren that she deeply loved. She was a loving person who spent her life serving others. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Graveside memorial services for Mrs. Wray will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2007 in the Mt. Ida Cemetery near De Queen, AR with Wallace Wooten officiating. Arrangements were made by Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Mr. Joe Herbert Holmes

Mr. Joe Herbert Holmes, age 78, a resident of Cove, Arkansas, died Saturday, December 1, 2007 in the Crystal Falls Nursing Center, De Queen.

He was born to Sullivan Lewis and Lillie Pearl Canady Holmes at Lamar, Mississippi, on June 6, 1929. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the U. S. Army, and was a retired iron worker. He was a member of the Hatton Baptist Church, and enjoyed fishing, and dogs.

He is survived by his wife, Donieta Garrett Holmes of Cove, Ark.; three sons, James Holmes of Jeffersonville, Georgia, Bobby Holmes of Iowa, and Mike Melton of Davis, Okla.; two daughters, Lisa Garrison of Sulphur, Okla., and Amanda Johnson of Wickes, Ark.; one brother, Elwood Holmes of Chelsea, Ala.; two sisters, Willie Boone of Holly Springs, Miss, and Elsie Bing of Union City, Tenn., nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Joe Holmes will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 4th in the Hatton Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Cecil Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at the Chandler Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 2nd

Mr. Joe Bob Mills

Mr. Joe Bob Mills, age 32, a resident of De Queen, died Saturday, December 1, 2007 in De Queen.

He was born in De Queen, Arkansas, on September 1, 1975. He graduated from De Queen High School in 1993, and was a welder, and a horseman. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lockesburg, and enjoyed riding horses, hunting, and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Ethel Mills, and his maternal grandparents, Robert Hub and Louisia Morris, an uncle, Keith Morris, and Misty Morris.

He is survived by his wife, Samantha House Mills of De Queen, three sons, James Wade Mills, Coleton Bryan Mills, and Dustin Autry Mills all of De Queen, his mother, Judy Mills of Gillham, his father and step-mother, Arthur James and Diana Mills of Corsicana, Texas; his paternal grandfather, A. J. Mills of De Queen, a special uncle, Carl Eugene Mills, and a second dad, James Barfield.

Funeral Services for Mr. Joe Bob Mills will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 6, 2007, in the chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Homer Frachiseur officiating. burial will follow in the Overturf Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 5th.

Mr. Robert Parker

Mr. Robert Parker, age 80, a resident of Horatio, died Sunday, December 2, 2007 in Rowlett, Texas.

He was born June 14, 1927 in Horatio, Arkansas to Nolan and Lula Wallace Parker. He was a retired accountant for Penrod Drilling Company for 37 years, a United States Army veteran having served in Germany during the Korean conflict, a member of the Hunt Retirees, past member of the Lions Club and a member of the First Baptist church in Horatio.

Mr. Parker is survived by his wife, Lela Gibson Parker' two daughters and sons-in-law,: Susan and Allen LupPlace and Barbara and Jeff Jarvis all of Rowlett, TX; one son: Robert Gregg Parker of Dallas, TX; two brothers: R.W. Parker of Houston, TX and Paul Eugene Parker of Conroe, TX; five grandchildren: Patricia Weaver, Adam LupPlace, Amanda Jarvis, Scott Jarvis, and Andrew Parker; and four great-grandchildren: Sarah Weaver, Shaun Weaver, Annabelle LupPlace, and Jorja LupPlace.

Funeral Services for Mr. Parker will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 6, 2007 in the First Baptist Church in Horatio with Rev. Coy Arnold and Rev. J.L. Walker officiating. burial will follow in the Horatio Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 5th at the funeral home.

Tamra Diane Potter

Tamra Diane Potter, age 27, a resident of De Queen, died Sunday, December 2, 2007 in De Queen.

She was born June 5, 1980 in De Queen. She was a waitress at the Pizza Hut.

She is survived by one son, Blake Austin Beavers; two daughters, Destiny Ellise Potter and Tristen Skyler Beavers; one brother, Dewayne Potter all of De Queen; her parents, Tammy and Lynn Wall of Murfreesboro; her grandmother, Lillie Beebe of De Queen and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Graveside Funeral Services were held on Sunday, December 2, 2007 in the Redmen Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
