Walton

HARDY -- John "Jack" F. Walton, 78, of Hardy died Saturday, April 10, 2004 at Baxter Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Walton of Hardy.

Arrangements will be announced by Heath Funeral Home's Oak Hill Chapel.

Watson

Charles Ray Watson, 63, of Jonesboro died Sunday, April 11, 2004 at his home.

Born in Bay, he lived all his life in the Bay and Jonesboro areas. He was a retired farmer and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jonesboro.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Watson of the home; three daughters, Renee Watson of St. Louis, Leslie Cothern of Jonesboro and Laura Hill of Fayetteville; his parents, Ed and Bessie Watson of Bay; one brother, Ed Watson of Jonesboro; two sisters, Peggy Aker and Linda Chaffin, both of Paragould; and four grandchildren, Caitlin Cothern, Isabella Cothern, Bailey Hill and Nicholas Hill.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Fred Haustein officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Active pallbearers will be Brian Clem, Tony Elmore, Steve Pugh, Eddie Watson, Bill Spurlock and Chris Miller.

Honorary pallbearers will include Tommy Rankin, Doyle McCain, Jerry Barnes, Bob Justus, Paul Hanshaw and Mike Gott.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Jonesboro.

Wells

Maxine Wells, 83, of Jonesboro died Sunday, April 11, 2004 at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Born in the Ravenden area, she moved to Illinois in 1957 and then to Jonesboro in 1970. She was a homemaker and worked for the Stoner Vending Co. in Illinois. She was a member of the Lonoke Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Jessie Tune and Rowena Wells, both of Jonesboro, Glenda Wells of Parsons, Tenn., and Janna Andrade of Oswego, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Zelmer Wells, four brothers, two sisters and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at House-Gregg Funeral Home chapel in Walnut Ridge, with Jerry Clements officiating. Burial will follow in Lonoke Cemetery near Ravenden.

Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Archer

POCAHONTAS -- Jerry Lane Archer, 64, of Pocahontas died Tuesday, June 8, at Regional Medical Center of NEA.

Born in Portia, he was a crop duster.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Morris Archer of Pocahontas; three daughters, Kim Evans of Ash Flat, Deni Smith of Pocahontas and Shannon Elders of Brentwood, Tenn.; two brothers, Jack Archer of Pocahontas and Ron Archer of Fern Park, Fla.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cyril Lohman Archer and Roberta Viola Allen Archer and a brother Bill Archer.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at McNabb Funeral Home chapel, with Gerald Fears officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Gardens at Pocahontas.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Austin

HETH -- Connie Irene "Tutti" Austin, 52, of Heth, died Sunday, June 6 at her home.

She was born in Armorel, was a Baptist and had worked at a picture framing business.

Survivors include one daughter, Christi Moss of Heth; one stepson, Ronnie Austin of West Memphis; two sisters, Joann Edwards of Osceola and Diane Northcutt of Manila; one brother, Nelson Tacker of Luxora; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Austin; one son, Scotty Dewayne Austin; two sisters; and a brother.

A memorial service has been scheduled for 2 p.m. at Faith Chapel in Osceola. The body will be cremated. Wilson Funeral Home of Osceola is in charge of arrangements.

No visitation has been planned.

Brown

ENID, Okla. -- Calvin L. Brown, 79, of Enid died Tuesday, June 8, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.

Born in Moreland, he served in the Navy during World War II and had worked as a manager of an OTASCO store in Enid.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Jean Wood Brown of the home; two sons, Jerry Brown of Enid and Jackie Brown of Jonesboro; a sister, Lula Anderson of Allen, Okla.; a brother, Donald Brown of Chickasha, Okla.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. today at Brown-Cummings Funeral Home chapel in Enid, with Dennis Treat officiating. Graveside services are scheduled for 4 p.m. in Allen, Okla., Cemetery, with the Rev. Buddy Drake officiating. military honors will be conducted by the Chickasaw Nation Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Deason

TRUMANN -- Funeral services for Robert Ray Deason Sr., 51, of Trumann who died Monday, June 7 at his residence in Trumann, will be held 10 a.m. today at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. The Rev. Willie Clem will officiate.

Survivors include his wife, Carlin Deason of the home; two sons, Robert "Robbie" Deason Jr. of Trumann and Charles "Andy" Deason of Harrisburg; a stepson, Brandon Martin of the home; a daughter, Heather Havard of Jonesboro, two sisters, Diane Deason of Hayti, Mo., and Barbara Deason of Leslie; four brothers, Kenneth Deason, Douglas Deason and Daniel Deason, all of Dyersburg, Tenn., and Steve Deason of Hayti, Mo.; and four grandchildren.

Burial will follow in Holly Springs Cemetery at Harrisburg.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Boyles, Mike Sullivan, Tommy Kirkland, Jack McCoy, Cliff McCoy and Durrell Newell.

Espinoza

Ricardo Uriel Espinoza, 2, of Jonesboro died Tuesday, June 8, in a house fire that also claimed the life of his mother, Patricia Martinez.

Survivors include his father, Victor Espinoza of Jonesboro; his maternal grandparents, Cruz Martinez and Petra Carnizales of Monterrey, Mexico; and paternal grandparents, Fidel Espinoza and Bertha Irene Deleon, both of Monterrey.

A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Friday at Betel Church at 7703 Cottage Home Road in Jonesboro, with Hector Ruiz officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home.

There will be no visitation.

Giese

NEWPORT -- Viola A. Giese, 81, of Newport died Tuesday, June 8, at Bald Knob.

She was a retired nurse and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Newport.

Survivors include four brothers, Earl Peglow and Aemil Giese, both of Minnesota, Donald Giese of Illinois and Bernard Giese of Arizona; and two sisters, Evelyn Everett of Bald Knob and Louise Nath of Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Dillinger Funeral Home in Newport, with Alan Ford officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Springs Cemetery at Newark.

Visitation will be from 5:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
