James Carroll Dunn
Mr. James Carroll Dunn, age 53, a resident of Sherman, Texas died Monday, September 8, 2008 in the Medical Center of McKinney, Texas.
He was born September 28, 1954 in Opelousas, Louisiana to Rex L. and Dixie Madge Culp Dunn. He was an Internet Technologist and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Mr. Dunn was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his daughter, Danielle Cummings of Hickory, North Carolina; three brothers, William 'Bill' Dunn of St. Amant, Louisiana, Robert 'Bob' Dunn and Sam Dunn, both of Arlington, Texas; and 2 grandchildren.
Graveside Funeral Services for Mr. Dunn will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 11, 2008 in the Chapel Hill Cemetery
with Rev. Paul Cummings officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Grace M. Parsons
Grace M. Parsons, age 94, of Dierks, died Tuesday, September 9, 2008.
She was born on January 2, 1914, in Athens, the daughter of Henry Allen Pate and Amy Rickett Pate. On June 20, 1942, she was married to George Amos Parsons, who preceded her in death on March 14, 1966. She was also preceded in death by her infant son, Don Carlos Parsons; one brother, Veston Pate; and two sisters, Doris Pate and Irene Parsons.
She was Holiness in her faith and a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, quilting and crocheting for her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Carl Gene and Billie Jean Parsons of Newhope and Gary Alan and Linda Jo Parsons of Umpire; five grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and Beverly Parsons of Newhope, Mitchell and Wendy Parsons of Newhope, Tracy and David Johnson of Norphlet, Tyjuanah and Richard Harner of Newhope and Jonathan and Cristy Parsons of Hot Springs; thirteen great-grandchildren, Tomesha Parsons, Vannessa Parsons, Eron Harner, Jared Harner, Marcus Parsons, Karen Garduza, Shasati Parsons, Micah Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Marlee Johnson, Ayden Parsons, Jessica Goss and Haley Goss; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 12, 2008 in the Bissell Chapel with Bro. Don Vaughn and Bro. Frank Harner officiating.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home in Glenwood.
Interment will be in the Bissell Chapel Cemetery
under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
Pallbearers will be Frank Harner, Richard Harner, Michael Parsons, Phillip Burgess, Chuck Willis and Eric Parsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lonnie Eudy and Wayne Mack.

Frances Rogers Blakney
Mrs. Frances Rogers Blakney, age 86, a resident of De Queen, died Tuesday, September 9th in the Dubuis Hospital of Texarkana.
She was born on August 24, 1922 to Edmond and Gertrude Hedges King in the Cross Trails Community in De Queen, Arkansas.
She attended Cross Trails country school and schools in De Queen. She was owner of “Rogers Country” Antiques, and enjoyed buying, selling, and restoring antiques, as well as poetry, oil painting, and reading. She was past member of the Society of Creative Writers, and was a member of the De Queen Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Opal Wilbanks, Dorothy Hopson, and Bettie Slaton, four brothers, Donald King, Vernon “Chuck” King, Jerry King, and Merle “Pete” King, and two husbands, Claude A. Rogers and James Warner Blakney.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Roy A. Rogers, Sr. and Robbie Goins of Horatio, and Ken and Glenda Rogers of De Queen, two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Charles Cox of Wichita, Kansas, and Bonnie and Joe Ellis of Conway, Ark.; and one brother, John L. King of De Queen. She is also survived by four granddaughters, Michelle Muehlberg of Virginia, Amy Gunnerson of Maryland, Emilie Thompson of Conway, AR, and Kendra Icenhower of De Queen, four grandsons, Roy A. Rogers, Jr., Joey Rogers and Robbie D. Rogers all of De Queen, and Grant Cox of Wichita, Kansas, fourteen great-grandchildren, seven step-children, Jimmie Lou, Gary, Mike, Glen, Robin, Cindy, and Joyce, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Frances Rogers Blakney will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 13th in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Van Ledbetter, Minister officiating. Burial will follow in the Redmen Cemetery, De Queen, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 12th
Merle Edward Evans
Merle Edward Evans, 88, of Winthrop, AR died Friday, September 5, 2008 in Ashdown.
Mr. Evans was born January 30, 1920 in King Ryder, AR to Lee and Lona Evans. He was a member of the King Ryder Church of Christ, a WWII veteran, a longtime member of the American Legion, a retired restaurant owner in the Kansas City, MO area and Crossroads, AR and former employee of Winthrop School. He was a graduate of Winthrop High School in 1939.
Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 50 years, Claudine, a daughter, Barbara McGowan and two brothers, Clarence and George D. Evans.
Survivors include two sons: Edward Evans of the home, Donald Evans and wife Cathy of Cerrogordo, 4 grandchildren, Scott, Jason, Jessica and Austin, and 4 great-grandchildren; one brother, J. Lynn Evans of Kansas City, MO; two sisters, Leeona Overturf and Marietta Humphrey of Winthrop; a number of other relatives, and a special friend, Helen Parker of Ashdown.
Graveside Funeral Services for Mr. Evans will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 8, 2008 in the Pauley Cemetery
with Scotty Smith and Elmer Proctor officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday, September 7, 2008 at the funeral home.
Ronald Paul Ryner
Mr. Ronald Paul Ryner, affectionately called, Ronnie, age 45, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Thursday, September 4, 2008 in the De Queen Medical Center.
He was born at Kirkland, Washington on October 23, 1962, and was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his parents, Jeanetta and James Jordon of De Queen, two brothers, James Thorsby of San Francisco, Calif., and Curtis Jordon of De Queen. five sisters, Lisa Lopez and Renisa Thomas both of Oklahoma City, Okla.; Cathy Day of Horatio, Margie Dinger of Crossroads, Arkansas, and Carrie Revis of De Queen, and a number of nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be at a later date. Cremation under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.
James Watts
James Ray Watts, loving husband and father, age 35, a resident of Wickes, Arkansas, died Monday, September 1st from injuries received in a ATV accident, near Wickes, Ark.
He was born at De Queen, Arkansas, on December 3, 1972. He was a former employee of Tyson Foods, Broken Bow, Okla., and was an employee of DeSoto Drilling at Conway, Arkansas, and was a Baptist. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding 4-wheelers, and was an avid wrestling fan, First and foremost, James was devoted to his kids, and family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Morris and Jean Watts of Carthage, MO, and Roy (Bill) and Mary Hobbs of Valliant, OK.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Land Watts of Wickes, Ark.; two sons, Dakota Watts and Timothy Land both of Wickes, three daughters, Ashley Watts of Wickes, Alexis Brown of Millerton, OK, and Tonya, her husband, Carmen Olalde and their unborn son, Kaleb of Wickes, Ark.; his father, Gary Watts of Carthage, Missouri, his mother, Lela Tadlock Roberts of Idabel, Okla., one brother, Gary Tadlock, of Denver, Colorado, one sister, Glenda, and her husband, Wayne Wade of Idabel, OK, nephews, Gary Jr., Jericho, Lucas Tadlock of Denver, CO, a special family friend, David Collins of Valliant, OK, several aunts and uncles, including one special uncle, Roy and his wife Melinda Hobbs, and their children, Kayla, Kandice, Kimberly, and Kyle of Valliant, OK.
Funeral Services for Mr. James Watts will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 6, 2008, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Bowlin officiating. Burial in the Grannis Cemetery, Grannis, Arkansas, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, Sept. 5th.
Louanne Williams
Mrs. Louanne Williams, age 85, a longtime resident of De Queen, died Friday, August 29, 2008 in the Christus St. Michael Healthcare System in Texarkana, Texas.
She was born May 1, 1923 in De Queen to Carl and Kathryn Brown Williams. She was a retired secretary and was employed by the De Queen Hospital in the admitting office in the 1980's.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Robert G. Williams, Jr.; and one sister, Carla Joan Williams.
She is survived by one daughter, Kathryn Roslansky of Sparks, Nevada and one son, Thomas Patrick Williams of Rockville, Maryland.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

Michael Beltrani, Jr.
Mr. Michael Beltrani, Jr., age 45, a resident of Little River Club in Winthrop, Arkansas died Friday, August 29, 2008 in Elko, Nevada as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born December 3, 1962 in De Queen, Arkansas to Mike and Brenda Beltrani. He was a 1981 graduate of De Queen High School and a graduate of the University of Arkansas Law School at Little Rock. He was a construction manager for Hanson Wilson Inc. in Ft. Worth, Texas and a member of the First Christian Church in De Queen.
He is survived by his daughter, Brittany Grace Beltrani of Cabot, Arkansas; his parents, Mike and Brenda Beltrani of Little River Club; his fiancé, Karla Bodie of Rolling Fork, Mississippi; two grandmothers, Thelma McAnelly and Vesta Dossey and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 1, 2008 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Doug Dorris, Chad Gallagher and Rev. J.L. Walker officiating. Cremation arrangements by Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Ervin HintonMr. Ervin Hinton, age 86, a resident of Foreman, died Thursday, August Mr. Ervin Hinton, age 86, a resident of Foreman, died Thursday, August 28, 2008 in the Little River Memorial Hospital in Ashdown.
He was born July 9, 1922 at Lanesport, Little River County, Arkansas to John Irvin and Nancy Clark Hinton. He was drafted November 4, 1942 to Camp Pendleton, California, then to Sheenango, Pennsylvania to Ship Empress of Scotland to Casablanca, Africa. Was wounded near Naples and returned to U.S. on U.S.S. Gen. Butner. Battles: Naples-Foggia, and Rome-Arno. He received Combat Inf. Badge, Rifleman, Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon, Purple Heart, 2 overseas Silver Bars, 1 Silver Stripe, European African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, and 3 Bronze Battle Stars. He was discharged from Army-Navy Hospital in Hot Springs on December 21, 1945. He was married in 1950 to Wausita Lisenby. He was badly wounded in the left arm and leg, but was proud to have served his country with the Red Bull in 135 Infantry Company E. He was retired from the Red River Army Depot, a member of American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Veteran of Foreign Wars; he was also a member of the Church of Christ in Foreman.
Mr. Hinton was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Idell Cates and Vera Smith; and two brothers, Curtis Hinton and Leon Hinton.
He is survived by his wife, Theo Wausita Lisenby Hinton of Foreman; two sons, Ladell Hinton of Foreman and Franklin "Frank" Doyce Hinton of Crossroads; one sister, Virginia Hastings of Amarillo, Texas; and two grandchildren, Whitney and Sarah Hinton.
Funeral Services for Mr. Hinton will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, August 30, 2008 in the Foreman Church of Christ with Frank Plemmons, James McRae and Billy Blakney officiating. Burial will follow in the Dollarhide Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Viewing will start at 10:00 a.m., Friday at the Foreman Church of Christ. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday at the church.
Memorials may be made the American Heart Association or Arkansas Children's Hospital.
Lillian Irene Shelton King
Mrs. Lillian Irene Shelton King, age 84, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Sunday, August 24, 2008 in De Queen.
She was born March 19, 1924 in Clarksville, Arkansas to James Monroe Harrison and Della Owens Shelton. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Leon King.
She is survived by one son, Tom King of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one daughter, Anita Hynes of Aurora, Colorado; one sister, Annabelle Jennings of Missouri; one brother, Earl Shelton of Shawnee, Oklahoma; three grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.
